Some of the recent additions that I've tried include the Jollof Lo Mein which works amazingly well, pairing the traditional West African flavors with sumptuous, perfectly cooked noodles, as well as a Korean Moqueca which is a Brazilian seafood soup bursting with Korean flavors and spice. As with all of their other dishes the imagination that factors into the fusion is brilliant and the execution is flawless. The restaurant is small, so a resy is advised if you don't want to be shut out. There are only 40-ish covers and 11 bar seats. And prepare to hunt for parking. The small lot fills early and you may need to park at neighboring businesses that are closed in the evening. Ingredients are locally-ish sourced, as farm-to-table and organic as possible, and the taste of the food reflects that. We started with a small portion of Mama Eva's Gumbo. How nice to have a GF roux at a commercial establishment! It was plenty smoky, and chock full of shrimp, sausage and crab. Quite tasty. For my entree, I had the sausage lasagna made with Vermont Salumi sausage. The gluten free pasta is made in house. (Apparently they lean heavily into using GF flour whenever they need flour!) I would prefer a little more 'stuff' and one less layer of pasta, but dang if that isn't the only note I had on this dish. Firm and delicious. It was served with a simple side salad, which is always my favorite with lasagna. The Man had the Arcadian Redfish Creole made with Maine red fish. He reported it had a little heat, great meatiness and also quite tasty. Crystal's hot sauce is also available. (Chef's Louisiana roots are reflected in the menu and the overall vibe. Did I mention the wonderful acoustic guitarist?) Dessert was the pineapple upside down olive oil cake. Yes, you read that correctly. A gluten free pineapple upside down olive oil cake. Served with house made blood orange sorbet (flavors change frequently) and chopped pistachios for some crunch. Super yum. Moist. Citrusy. My only note here is that the use of fresh pineapple (yay!) makes it difficult to break apart with the fork/spoon. It almost needs a knife. The bartender recommended their Going Bananas cocktail to accompany dessert and he wasn't wrong. I thought for sure it would be cloyingly sweet and I was so wrong. It was amazingly well balanced and delicious. One thing we really enjoyed was the smaller portion sizes. We were able to share a starter, have an entree and still have room to share some dessert and all without leftovers. We hate wasting food and feeling stuffed. It was refreshing to have 'human sized' plates served, and at very reasonable prices. Throughout the evening service felt a little rushed, but more because they wanted to make sure people were being served and not disappointed by wait times. I never felt like we were being rushed out the door. They were also super receptive when we asked for a bit of a pause here and there. Overall, we'll be back! Still things on the menu we want to try and can't wait to see what next season brings.

The one minor hit is the menu was a bit pricey for what we got, but that won't stop us from coming back. Definitely a nice experience and I would recommend as a great date night spot with nice atmosphere.

My husband and I came from out of state for an event and decided to stop here for dinner based on reviews. We drove in from Marlborough, but traveled from Texas. I should have leaned on Yelp, because the google reviews were much more positive. I've never had food where literally everything tasted like water or vegetables tasted like they'd been out overnight. I think the vegetables were rancid and that they're trying to keep ingredients longer than normal since the season is changing. We spent nearly $200 and ordered the following hoping the food would get better or that we ordered the wrong thing.: - the crab spinach dip (salty) (3/5) - 6 oz filet mignon (no flavor), (2.5/5) - 4 Jumbo Shrimp Topping (great), (5/5) -Yukon mash, (4/5) -Mac n Cheese, (Bland) (2/5) -Bok choy (super greasy, just butter) (2/5) -Roasted mushrooms, (3/5) -Roasted Chicken (tasted like water), (2/5) -Risotto (came with chicken, tasted like water), (1/5) -Vegetable Medley (rancid?), (0/5) -Cup of Clam Chowder (no flavor), (1/5) -Dessert (Chocolate Chip Cookies + Milk), (3/5) I've just never had such terrible food. For my main, I ordered the Khao Gai Yang, a dish with chicken, rice, veggies, and a sauce on the side. The chicken was juicy and well seasoned. They're loyal members of the smash brigade, and while I prefer a thicker burger, their double smash is very good. The meat is seasoned, it has a nice texture, the bun is soft and pliable, and the condiments add flavor galore. The bacon aioli is rich, creamy, and provides a salty dimension. My one criticism (aside from whether they're truly textbook smashburgers or in name only) is that the beef sometimes gets lost in the generously applied condiments and pillowy bun. But I'll say it again: good burger. -- Superb onion rings. This is a new one, and you can get them as a $5 side or as a $2.00 upgrade from fries with your burger. They don't have all the latest sexy IPAs, but they do have a bunch, plus good deals on some of the more traditional bottles. -- High prices. Everything's still more expensive than it really ought to be, even by today's restaurant pricing standards, but lately maybe less so, only because others have caught up to them, but it is noticeable. -- Shaky service. It's not so much that the servers are slow, error-prone or rude (although I had one very rude moment), but more a matter of being consistently undermanned. Typically one person handles both bar and tables during weekday lunches, and two plus a bartender at night. Lots of waiting and empty glasses.
