Excellent place for a midday lunch or romantic date. The location is perfect, a few feet away from the beach. They start you off with a generous side of chips and salsa (and guac). They had some great options on the menu, and I opted for the bulgogi Burger. It has some special sauce in there, and fibrous vegetables like kale and coleslaw, served with a side of delicious, crispy fries. Friendly staff and service, the food came out fresh and pretty fast. I'd go back again.

Father's Day brunch at Salt + Lime Del Mar--such a great vibe. Fresh, lively spot with a beautiful street view and even a peek of the ocean. Service was super friendly and made the whole experience even better. The starters absolutely stole the show--bone marrow quesadillas were fire, and the aguachile negro was next level, easily the standout. My kid loved the Mexican French toast (really tasty), and my wife's enfrijoladas were also a hit. For my main, ordered the chilaquiles verdes with birria. The meat was solid, but the chilaquiles themselves were a bit flat on flavor. I ordered the chilaquiles verdes with birria. I really wanted to love it, but it just didn't hit. That said, I'd definitely give this place another shot. It's a great spot with a lot going for it--I'd just try something different next time.
Beautiful location with ocean view, many seats, clean, and a very nice dining area. The won tostadas were the best thing I've eaten. Avocado was perfect. The spicy tuna was delicious, the crispy wonton, mandarin orange pieces, and remaining flavors all went perfectly well together. Better than my two tacos. Our drinks were made well and it was a fun evening with the soccer game playing. We had to wait a half hour for a table, and it was worth it. The Baja fish was grilled and a little dry for my taste, but the mango salsa helped. They fry the cheese to their tortillas which was a yummy touch and these tacos were big and heavily portioned. Chicken Al Pastor taco had an amazing flavor on the meat, which was definitely seasoned well. Getting out of there took a lot of time as the restaurant was completely full, and we had to chase down our waiter to get the receipt and pay, fortunately we were not in a rush. Thank you I'll be back!!
The monthly special Mango Ginger Fusion Ceviche is a MUST try! It is so delicious! I will say that the potatoes were a bit on the saltier side. The staff was also friendly and accommodating. We sat outside which had nice beach town vibes. There is a small parking structure in the back. Hopefully I can come back in time for more of that ceviche.
First time at Salt + Lime! Luckily, we were able to get seated after about a 10-minute wait. The ambiance was great, and while service was a little slow, it seemed like there was only one server handling the floor, so it was understandable. I will say, the drinks were hitting super delicious all around. We ordered an insane amount of food, but the real stars of the show were the ceviche and the corn in a cup. 1000/10, I'd absolutely come back for those two again.
Everything was excellent; the drinks, ambiance, service, and food. I highly recommend this spot if you're looking for delicious tacos. I loved the unique flavor combinations and how fresh everything tasted. I'll definitely be back! Favorite Drink: Passionfruit Mezcalita. Favorite taco: Quessabirria. The only downside is that the view to the left of the restaurant overlooks the parking lot and parked cars.
Food was amazing, really good service, extremely respectful and clean! Beautiful ambience, the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing, if you want a good photo op come here! My only problem was the portion to price ratio. Very small portions for the price being paid. My meal I got was perfect, it was a good amount but the aguachiles, see attached picture, is small. It should be an appetizer. Other than that, recommend!
We ended up on a Friday night in Del Mar. And decided on this place for dinner due to good Yelp reviews and liked the vibe based on the photos. I was able to get a reservation and we didn't have to wait that long. The hostess was nice and we were given a nice spot. Right away, we like the ambience which is nice and cozy. The food was good and we find the servings to be towards bigger portions. For starters we ordered the Caesar salad. It was huge and the waiter split it for us. That was good and refreshing. We also had the Bone Marrow Quesadilla. They were huge bone marrows sprinkled with rockets greens and quesadillas on the side. We also had an asada taco and quesa birria taco. Which were also good. For drinks I had the cilantro jalapeño which is nothing special. For dessert we had the Kuty's churros which was nothing special. Only thing I didn't like was the credit card processing fee which they pass on the customers. Normal tip rates are now much higher than before. So any additional charges just don't sit right with me. So we try to avoid places like this especially since there's a lot going of good food places out there that don't have extra charges.
How to lose a good customer, here you go. I was in Del Mar meeting a friend and she had lunch today at Salt + Lime. She told me the waiter Omar told her that the girl with the spots in her skin (me) left without paying on May 14th when we were celebrating her birthday and that he was informing her just to let me know that probably they won't let me enter in the restaurant anymore. Well, this is absolutely ridiculous, so NOT true and so insulting. We were celebrating the birthday of that precise friend that told me this and another friend and I told the waiter Alejandro F that we will pay separately for our consumptions and whatever my friend ordered and then whoever was coming to the party later on will pay in whatever way they want. So we clarified we were going to pay separately and then I had to leave early and told Alejandro that my friend will pay for us as we informed to start with. Later that night I asked my friend what was my part and paid her my part. End of story. Now, not only they accuse me but when I talked to the manager over the phone (Omar put me in touch with him) this manager told me he was told and was not accusing me but the group. Well, manager, so your math, I showed the ticket that my friend sent me with the portion we paid and you should train your staff to make sure all the money due is paid at the end of the dinner and not false accusing someone a month later. I have never been so embarrassed in my life and apparently there were $80 missing which is anyways a ridiculous amount considering the many people with have been mentioning this place to and the good word we have put about the music and cozy ambiance. This is not the way to treat customers. No apologies, no maybe is OUR misunderstanding due to OUR bad management and our inabilility to do the math. Please change attitude and processes and stop accusing people of something they haven't done.
Husband and I came here for the first time to have lunch and were amazed at how wonderful it was! Our server was prompt and so polite. We got seated quickly in their beautiful outdoor patio area with our 2 pups! The food was absolutely delicious! The wonton tostada, DEFINTELY my favorite!! I wish we got more orders! I was apprehensive about the tangerine in it at first, but it brought such a delicious sweet flavor to the tostada, literally devoured it so fast lol 20/10! The bone marrow quesadillas were good. The bone marrow was juicy, melt in your mouth flavor! I like to add a squeeze of lime on the marrow as well, tastes so good that way. The quesadilla itself was okay, tbh I could've done without it as it wasn't anything amazing. The bulgogi burger is on their monthly special menu! It's listed as sliders but when we came, our server informed us they only have it as a regular burger for the time being which wasn't an issue for us! It was delicious & filled with so much flavor! I loved the crunch from all the veggies inside as well. The fries it came with had some sort of sugar salt which wasn't my favorite, but still good. Overall we had an amazing first experience and will definitely be back & bring our family/friends!
We drive to The Oceanside to LaJolla PCH drive and we love driving by Del Mar coast. We just recently drove and as a Yelper, Yelped this place as reviews are good. I had to investigate. Feeling Mexican foodie so I dove right in. Reserved and after about 10 minutes, we got our seat. This place isn't small, but it isn't big either so reserve during busy times. Bar area exists and seating on counter height chairs near the bar too! All pretty much covered cozy outdoor/indoor type seating. I liked the vibe. I tried the bone marrow quesadilla. The bone marrow, I think 3 pieces, was good. The quesadilla that is separate was good too. The bone marrow being sauced a little would have been better served with a plain toast or tortillas, but I get it and ain't complaining. We also had the tacos. Good as well. Finishing it with churros. Service was decent and prices was decent. The only thing I must say is that they charged us for a salad they split without even asking us if we wanted it split. That's a big shame! And on top of that, this place charges more for credit card usage passing the costs to the customers. So your bill that you thought was decent, is now a little fluffier that you would like it to be. I'm not too happy about that! I feel like places that tack on more after you've enjoyed dining, just blows it when doing this! And this place ain't no different. Is that even legal? So what could have been a pretty decent experience becomes a meh experience. Verdict - hard pass for me. I'd rather go to up front pricing rather than a hidden pricing one. Some may call this petty, and it is maybe. But I'd rather pay for the food with the price I see with no hidden things that crop up after enjoying dining C'mon!
Cute little corner area in Del Mar off the main road. The service was great. The tacos were delicious - especially the shrimp taco. I loved my strawberry drink with a Tajin treat. We heard this place started as a food truck and they hope to expand into another brick and mortar location. It must be those great tacos! There is limited free parking behind the building as well as two hour street parking. My friend parked at the nearby City Hall for free and walked up. Be sure to bring a jacket as this corner gets very breezy. There are heaters, but we were there for lunch.

Absolutely delicious little restaurant I ate with my family and baby. Their chips and guacamole come w sides of salsa was delicious. I ate the shrimp taco and 2 crab tostadas was just enough for a lunch meal. The flavors in these dishes were savory with just the right amount of spice (not hot). If you're seeking intimate meal conversations you'll have a hard time hearing cuz of the street traffic noise sometime but if you wanna indulge in the setting and pleasure of your food this is the place. Fresh, zesty, and vibrant, the ceviche at Salt + Lime is a masterclass in how simplicity can yield extraordinary flavors. We tried a few drinks, 1) cilantro margarita 2) mango chile 3) put the lime on the coconut. All were very good. The service too was great. It happened to be a chilly day and the manager Adrian made sure that the heat lamp was working and moved us to a better table when the heat the lamp was giving off was not enough. Drinks are between ($17-20) Prices are on the higher end which is understandable since you are in Del Mar. For the vibe and food it's a nice date place for someone special or your girlfriends. Overall, Salt + Lime delivers an authentic and exciting experience, with their tacos and ceviche being standout dishes that perfectly capture the flavors of the sea and the street. Love the decoration and location of this restaurant. The staff were nice and the free chip and salsa was also really good! We came here with our dog for drinks and that was just ok. The strawberry tajin margarita was just way too sweet. My partner got a mint/jalapeño cocktail that was definitely the better drink of the two. Even though it is dog friendly, I agree with other commenters that it's way too crowded (seats too close) and the crowd here is way too loud. read more

Yeah man this place is legit. Staying at a hotel down the street for work and walked the town and found this spot. Super quaint interior but also super cool looking. Definitely has an upscale vibe. Service was fast and friendly and my oh my was the food amazing. The bone marrow quesadilla is to die for! The 2 tacos I got were also amazing as were the cocktails. A delicious stop on the drive back from SD that we will look forward to returning to! They even have a private parking lot. We came for an early Sunday dinner and arrived 30 minutes before happy hour ended. Highly recommend their happy hour and will be returning because of this deal!! My steak and shrimp quesadilla is only on the happy hour menu and was a knockout! Perfectly balanced with the flavors and quantity of protein to cheese. The pineapple salsa and guac were excellent. The kids really enjoyed their kids chicken quesadilla which they split for us so each had their own plate. They actually devoured the rice and quesadilla which is rare so that is definitely a compliment to the chef. Hubby and my parents enjoyed their tacos and margaritas. Cute restaurant that serves upscale Mexican food. There were 6 of us in our party celebrating a friend's bday. Food and cocktails were good. I ordered the chicken Al pastor and quesabirria tacos. Bother very delicious. We shared the chips and guac . (I always dislike it when Mexican places charge for chips. ) and I ordered the Put the Like in the Coconut cocktail. That was pretty and tasty. Only thing that was a miss for us was when they served all of us but the last person in our party didn't get her tacos for awhile. Also they didn't get our orders accurately. Ie some of us wanted picked onions and didn't get it while others didn't want cilantro and got it etc. so we asked our server to comp our friend's meal which she did so that demonstrated good customer service. More like a 3.5 star. Service was excellent. I guess when I'm getting Mexican food in So Cal I expect bold flavors... these flavors where more like meh .... It wasn't bad by any stretch. The location was nice and the interior was intimate (aka small) and you may want to make a reservation. Happy hour pricing help make it a 3.5 but if I had paid full price I'd be at a 2.9. Small and modern Mexican restaurant. Great music and love the decor. We were seated in the bar area with high top tables and chairs, but the seats, I have to say, were a bit uncomfortable, especially since my chair had a missing piece from the middle. Other than that, the food was good, but I would have liked to have had more non-alcoholic drink options, like tamarindo, jamaica, and horchata, but they didn't have any. It seems most come here just to drink and for appetizers. I was hoping for a bigger selection of food and sweet drinks. read more

I visited on a Friday afternoon and was seated quickly. The outdoor seating area is beautifully decorated and charming. It was a bit chilly at first, but once the sun came out, it was much more comfortable. We started with the shrimp ceviche, which was served with two tostadas. It was delicious, though I felt it could have come with more tostadas. Complimentary chips and salsa were also provided, featuring two unique salsas that weren't spicy--perfect for me. I used some of the tortilla chips to finish off the ceviche, though I'm sure they would have brought more tostadas if I had asked. For my meal, I ordered the Al Pastor and shrimp tacos. At $9 each, they were on the pricier side, but they were generously filled and very satisfying--absolutely delicious. I also had the Cadillac margarita, which was excellent. The staff were very friendly, and parking options were convenient. You can park on a side street or in the complex, where parking is very affordable. read more

TL;DR: Beautiful outdoor patio vibes in downtown Del Mar with friendly service and big portion sizes that actually justify the higher price tag. The potato taquitos and Won-Tostada were our top choices that we tried, as well as the Ceviche Yucatan (best for sharing)! The vibe here is absolutely beautiful, starting with their iconic "when life gives you lemons" LED sign right when you walk in. They seat you on a decently sized open-air patio that features a stunning central tree and views of the downtown Del Mar streets. It is the perfect, relaxing aesthetic for a brunch or lunch date with friends, and the space can easily accommodate larger parties. Just a quick heads-up: the patio can get a bit windy and chilly depending on the day, so you'll definitely want to bring a jacket just in case. We kicked things off with the complimentary chips served with a green and orange salsa; neither had much heat, but they were good to munch on. For appetizers, the Potato Taquitos were fantastic--super crispy on the outside with a smooth, milky potato filling, all topped with shredded lettuce and a great green crema. Our waiter also steered us toward the Ceviche Yucatan for sharing, and he was totally right about the size. It was a massive pile of shrimp and mahi-mahi served with two tostadas. The waiter poured a crema and chili oil over it at the table, creating a perfectly acidic, lime-forward flavor profile with a subtle kick of spice. Moving on to the mains, we tried the tostadas. The Sinaloa-style tostada was loaded generously with fish, but the heavy black marinade tasted a bit too much like a sweet Japanese barbecue sauce for our liking, though the fresh serranos added a nice heat. The Won-Tostada, however, was incredible--the mandarin oranges added a perfect sweetness to every bite, it was topped with the perfect amount of sriracha mayo, and the wonton shell itself was incredibly airy and crispy. The service was excellent from start to finish. Our waiter was incredibly friendly, always smiling, and gave great recommendations. One thing to note is the pricing--with entrees sitting at $30+ and single tacos over $9, it definitely feels more like a "$$$" spot than what you might see online. However, the portion sizes really do reflect the cost. We expected small plates but ended up completely full with leftovers to take home. Between the great hospitality, the relaxing patio, and the standout dishes, we'll definitely be back to try the tacos next time! read more

Salt & Lime is a fun restaurant with signature margaritas and tapas. Too bad we were not able to try any of their drinks because they looked really good. I had the bone marrow quesadilla, but to my surprise the quesadilla was plain with the bone marrow served on the side. The quesadilla was dry and mid at-best, but the bone marrow was so tender and flavorful. The potatoes and rice sides were pretty standard. The shrimp appetizer we ordered was beautiful and was the stand-out dish. For the price and portions, probably would not go back other than for the convenience of being next to the fair. This restaurant is outdoors in a covered area (unless you are at a side are exposed to some sun ). Service was fine, but wish that they served ICE water. read more

We went here around 4:30pm for some cocktails. We got margaritas, a Paloma, chips and salsa and queso. It was all very good. The queso was a little different. It was melted cheese. It was good but not much added to it except cheese. I especially loved the two different types of salsa served and the chips were seasoned and hot! Our server was a delight and very attentive. Great location and beach city setup inside. Came here with party of three on Thursday 6pm, got super lucky on the street parking and got seated immediately. The welcome on the house chips is fresh and crispy. And the taco ( Baja fish) one is 5 star, but the shrimp taco was disappointing (2 star). Highly recommended the lava cake with vanilla ice cream, great texture and freshly baked, not super sweet. Overall service is good, fast refill water, friendly waiters, only unhappy experience in waiting for the paper print out receipt. Definitely great place for friends gathering , a little on the noisy side. read more

Stopped by for dinner on a rainy Sunday night. We didn't want to wait for a table so sat at the bar. Upscale Mexican fare with Tulum vibes. Food presentation was top notch. The bartender who was also the manager who was also our server since we sat at the bar provided exceptional service and also very personable. Overall we had a nice time and would return. Let me start by saying I made reservations to this place and I'm glad I did, at the time I went it was not too bad but I can see how busy it can get. Ok now the food, the aguachile was so delicious and mind you I am allergic to shrimp but you know nothing a benadryl can't fix, right? You must try the aguachile not the life risking for some shrimp Tagging along to the aguachile, the ceviche was also tasty! Do not judge, I was already too far into the shrimp to turn back. My friend ordered the quesadillas of tuetano and loved them, I also had the steak and honestly can say I should've stopped at the aguachile and ceviche, the steak was too much and I ended up taking it home, that was average.
