We were waiting for our lunch reservation nearby and checked out Salt Bread Ko after seeing the line of people waiting for it to open shortly before noon. We grabbed a pack of 3 + spread to share and while I only had the og salt bread plain it was great warm and pretty buttery. I appreciated that there was a good amount of salt as well for flavor and overall a tasty snack. I didn't try the spread or the sweet/savory combos but they don't have everything available at each hour. Definitely come when a new batch drops for warm bread.

A new salt bread place opened recently. It's more of a takeout place. Very limited seating in the restaurant, and a bench outdoor. It has specific time drops (go to the website for the time drops so you can get the fresh out of the oven experience). They still write the time drop schedule on the door but it's easier to go to the website. Yay! I finally timed it with the next freshly baked drop was available. 10 minutes before the bread was baked/cooled down, the employees tells you to put your order in via the kiosks. There is an order limit of 3 breads per person. The savory/salted ones were ready quicker since it didn't need extra preparation. The sweet ones took a bit longer since the employee had to cut the bread open, wait for the bread to cool before piping the cream into the bread. It tasted better freshly baked so enjoy!

First time trying it... not sure about the hype since the next store that sells custard tarts also offers salt bread, but let's try this place since I think it is the first place in Koreatown to sell salt bread. I ordered the 2 salt bread + garlic knot spread, pandan coconut, and strawberry chocolate. I preferred the savory over the sweet. The bread itself was crispy on the bottom (so much oil) and soft on top, with a sprinkle of sea salt, which reminded me of a pretzel, just way softer. The wait wasn't too long on a Saturday at 1ish, once you ord

"Meh"... it's ok la. I think for anyone who hasn't visited Seoul and tasted their famous salt bread, then this would be OK. Bc in lieu of airfare, you're getting an introduction. I was surprised there's a line around lunch time, since this is more like a breakfast or snack. The line was short, waited about 5-10 mins, before ordering through the kiosk. ( congestion is from the kiosk ordering). Service is that you get a packaged good. Small shop. More than 6 ppl will be uncomfortable. Grabbed their original salt bread, nothing fancy, no spread (bc if it's truly the amazing version with the fluffy butter center, you won't need it) and ... it was ok. Would I buy again? Nah.

Food 5/5 Value 2/5 Ooomph salt bread ko is officially my favorite salt bread spot at the moment! While the price is definitely on the higher side ($12 for 3), the quality makes it worth the splurge. The bread is incredibly fluffy and soft with a rich, buttery center that actually melts in your mouth, exactly what a perfect Shio Pan should be. I arrived at 10:30 AM and was lucky there was no line. Note: Their flavored options aren't ready until noon, so I'll definitely be back to try those next!

Salt bread Ko is a small bakery with very limited seating inside. I came early afternoon and didn't have to wait long, but they were definitely sold out of many items. I ordered on the kiosk and got 2 regular salt breads with garlic spread and an Earl gray salt bread. Both were spectacular and definitely a highlight of my trip, but they're not the same as you would get in Korea. The salt bread is very buttery and honestly great on their own, so you don't really need a spread to go with it. The Earl gray salt bread was stuffed with cream and so very soft. We sat on the small ledge inside to enjoy our salt bread, but they also have an outside ledge to sit. If you're around the area and don't have to wait, I'd definitely recommend trying some salt bread here.

Heard buzz about this place and decided to check out. It was just a handful of people inside when I arrived. It is easy to order from the kiosk. There are no registers, so its all card or tap to pay only, no cash. Staff said that maximum that they were selling per person was 3. I couldn't eat too many & was by myself so I ordered 2 with the strawberry lychee spread which was $2.00 extra. There are many spread options. Some are additional. My order was quick and came out hot. The sweetness of the spread mixed well with the salty of the bread. Definitely do need a drink. Places is small with few bench seats, inside and out. Can definitely see this place being a hit when the weather gets warmer.

I had heard such great reviews about this shop but unfortunately, I did not enjoy it as much as I had hoped. However, I will say I only bought 1 of their breads and so I can only share my review on that and not all their items. I ordered their Earl Grey Chocolate salt bread which had sounded delicious. The bread was nice and salty, although I did wish it was a bit more crispy. Otherwise, the bread itself was great! The filling on its own was good too in my opinion, however the combination of salt bread and floral chocolate just did not work for me here. The contrast of flavors seemed to me mismatched. I'd be interested in trying their other flavors, maybe the savory ones or their lychee jam.

I was so excited when I got off the bus and saw this place right in-front of me! I had been wanting to check it. Guess it was my day. It is an order by kiosk place. They have two kiosks and you get a number and when your number is called, your order is ready. I only had the regular salt bread no fillings inside. But from the menu as you see in my pictures they have a few different kinds that you can have in your salt bread. As I said I opted just to go with the regular one. It was tasty and buttery. I would cone back here as I have gotten into salt bread recently. The ambiance is chill. It is a small place with a little indoor and outdoor bench.

I happened to walk by this place a few minutes before the next fresh bake time posted on the door and decided to try it out. The store is tiny but pretty inside and despite the crowd it seemed well-managed with kind staff. I ordered on one of the screens - 2 salt breads and a spread for $12, ~$14 with tax and tip. The bread came out hot. I chose the spring onion spread which I wouldn't do again, it was cold and kind of one-note compared to the bread, I think I needed to go with something sweet or something with more umami. The bread deserved better. The spread portion is good even if it felt a lil overpriced. This didn't blow my mind and is priced like a fancy croissant (tbf I think it's probably the same amount of butter), but it was good. I wouldn't wait on a long line or go out of my way, but if I happened to walk by close to another fresh batch I'd go back to try the strawberry lychee or kimchi bacon spread.

Was unsure about this salt bread hype because it seemed like a simple thing and I tend to not like fatty/rich/buttery things. But omgggg. First of all, went during a weekday in the middle of the day and no line. They make salt bread on the hour so make sure to go a little before the hour strikes. That crusty bottom, airy inside, and salty top is delicious and I could easily crush like 3 of these. It's an ode to how you don't need to make things too complicated to make a delicious thing - just good ingredients and freshly made goes such a long way. You can buy them in 3's, or one piece. It's obviously very buttery and naturally savory and sweet. Surprisingly they don't have any sweet creams to dip them in (maybe it's because this is moreso the korean version?) and so we got the everything bagel and chili one - both were pretty good, though I would've loved to see a simple sweet cream option. Anyways right now they are the best salt bread in the city!

Short line on a Sunday afternoon for fluffy buttery bites of goodness! Is it like the soft cloud like buttered saltbread of Seoul? No. But it is quite close! The saltbread is fresh and there's fresh bread piping hot that makes it out every top of the hour. We got ours HOT and perfectly accompanied by a kimchi bacon spread. We also got the sweet pandan and coconut bread and that was okay. The highlight is definitely their saltbreads! Give it a try!

One of the better salt bread places in NYC! Especially delicious when it's fresh out of the oven. The regular salt breads are a must try- I personally think they're better than the sweet options.
