I stopped by for a glass of wine and ended up leaving with 2 bottles plus a new appreciation for Washington GSMs and pinots! Purchased a 2017 GSM (grenache-syrah-mouvedre) from Latta, Columbia Valley AVA ($25) and a 2019 Syrah from Rockgarden Vineyards, Walla Walla AVA. Looking forward to trying both soon! My Queen and I stopped by at 6:58 to grab a bottle of wine, since the sign said open. There was a rope across the entrance, however there were people inside at a table as well as outside.. Can't say for sure, but all the people there were Caucasian and we are not, sooo... There are decent selections of red and white wines from various regions including Walla Walla, Napa, Italy, and Bordeaux. Not to mention that the prices have little or no markups. I am so very glad I finally got to try this place with my girlfriends. It was small so I totally understand not being able to accommodate my big party. The wine was so very good. I had the Pinot Grigio- we ordered a charcuterie board and it was the best I've ever had. The selections on it were vast and the choices of cheese and meat were so darn good! A great stop for happy hour and a little wine and food shopping. A charcuterie plate with a couple glasses of wine was a perfect afternoon stop. I was visiting Anacortes and wandered in here for a glass of wine. I can't say enough how lovely the shop and the owner and staff are - friendly and knowledgeable! I asked for a recommendation and got a great glass of wine. There are wines by the glass or bottles for purchase, and bottles can be opened to drink (you buy the bottle and can take the rest). It must have been fate, because the charcuterie was hands down the best we've EVER had. Six different cheeses and six different meats plus dried fruits, olives, peppers and cornichons, plus condiments and served with a whole grain sourdough bread. This place is delightful. I headed down early with a friend so we could check out Salt & Vine before catching our ferry. I thought $25 for the charcuterie plate was a little high, but the generous portions and great selection of meats, cheeses, and other treats were absolutely worth it. They serve wine by the glass and do not charge a corkage fee if you buy a bottle. There is a great selection of wines to choose from. We chose a Mexican red that proved to be a pleasant surprise. The owner, Andrew, is charming and chatted with us about his business without being intrusive or overbearing. The mood is laid back and not rushed, but Andrew appeared with a to-go box at the perfect time, as we slowed our eating and as it became time to leave for the ferry line. I will be back! As you may know, if you have seen my reviews, I am a beer drinker first and foremost so for me to give five stars to a wine bar, well, five stars should say it all. But never being at a loss for words, let me stumble forward. ORDER the charcuterie board, that's an order. You don't have to believe me, read the other reviews. And if you can't find a wine from the eight pouring glasses, order the port! We will be going back, soon, it is so worth it. I have no idea how so many people had these great 5 star experiences at this place. The owner is so crazy rude and accusatory, I can not imagine him being able to be a gracious host. We only made it about a foot in the door when we realized how terrible the service was. Finally got around to checking out this place. I read other reviews that were so positive I thought how could we miss..... The worst service ever! We order wine which came right away, but we waited for our charcuterie board even after 2 other tables who came in after us got there's. When the 3rd table after us got their board we canceled ours and gave our business elsewhere. No apology from the owner and no attempt to appease us so we would want to come back. The owner and worker had the worst attitudes of anyone serving the public I have ever seen. I may try one more time as the charcuterie boards looked delicious. But my friends won't. read more
