While staying in West Hampton for a family wedding, the night after an intimate group of 20 of us had an amazing meal together at Salt & Loft. The ambiance of the restaurant was so cozy and relaxing especially how the whole front of the place open up for bringing the indoor bar experience feel like being out side. Our table service by Natalia was amazing. She is a beautiful polite and well attentive Ukrainian young woman which her personality alone added to our dining experience. Such a sweet girl, I was even willing to adopt her. From the soups and salads to the awesome entree's, we all enjoyed everything as we know we put your kitchen staff into high gear to keep up with our little crowd... Julia our bar tender was awesome as well, putting up with multiple drink orders and service with a beautiful smile as people walking by stopped in to join in our fun. Wow! First time here and we were SO pleased! Food was great, came out fast with extra friendly service- we had the burrata, burger and the mahi tacos! And the kids chicken fingers tasted very homemade! Great fries and pickles too ;) chef even gave us a little sweet potato purée for our 8 month old who was delighted. We went there for dinner for a party of 6 during Memorial Day weekend with our friends from DC (and their 2 young children). The service was absolutely horrible (yes, its the start of summer, and a lot of new seasonal staff.....but this is Hamptons, so step it up). Next, food quality was also horrible and they just kept saying the kitchen is backed up (thats poor planning on their end - its a holiday weekend), and we had to wait 30-45 min, even with kids - the mom had to request 3-5x to our waiter to bring their food first. Basically, only the ambiance worked in their favor, but thats it. Also, there was another entire table of teenagers dining (the adults probably sat somewhere else), but they were so rude when I was getting out of the bathroom and a few of them rushed in without waiting for me to get out. It was my first time at Salt and Loft and I absolutely loved it. Our server was sweet and attentive, and was very accommodating with the order for my child. Both my husband and son said the food was delicious, and usually it's a problem to get my son to eat anything. For starters I had the corn and shrimp appetizer. It was amazing. The corn was tossed with feta, a light olive oil and a light touch on the sides of the plate of pesto. The corn was grilled and placed beautifully with a touch of micro greens for decor amd color on top. Amazing job by the chef. I wanted to eat light, so my next course was the Waldorf salad. I had to omit the walnuts and celery due to dietary conditions, but added extra cucumbers. The dressing was spectacular. The arugula was to fresh it melted into the dressing and my mouth. Ordered bloody Mary's and they didn't know the difference between cherries and olives ‍ When our food came out ketchup was spilled on the floor and splattered on my brother and on my aunts hand bag and jacket. If you're lucky to be reading this before you step foot in this poor excuse for a restaurant, DO NOT WASTE your money or time here. This place actually deserves zero stars but Yelp doesn't allow that. I was with two friends and we were visiting for the day from the city. We each wasted $72 on slop served on plastic ware. The server gave some odd explanation about there being a sewage issue from months ago. Paying Hampton prices for garbage served on plastic plates? Nope. We got the calamari and hummus platter to start. The calamari was meh. Very greasy. The hummus plate came with homemade chips. The chips were stale and greasy. We ate two and stopped because it was so foul. We should have canceled our entrees right then knowing that the prelude was inedible. Too late. Entrees served. Salmon, roasted chicken and lobster Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was cooked in a microwave with frozen lobster likely. I told the server it was cold so she apologized and brought it back five minutes later steaming from the microwave. Heating plastic in the microwave emits cancer producing chemicals. I didn't touch the slop on my plastic plate again. I should have spilled it onto the table because then the staff would actually have earned the money from our bill during clean up. My friend's salmon was cold and equally repugnant. My other friend had the chicken. It was decent. He actually took a few bites and brought the rest home. The staff was inattentive and ignored our request to put the music back on. They were too busy doing something in the bathroom together to pay attention to their patrons. My one friend and I work in the service industry in NYC. She wouldn't let me tell the server to take all the slop that we barely touched off the bill. If I notice that my patrons haven't touched their food, I inquire about it and then have the manager remove it from the bill as a common courtesy. Of course our server didn't do that because the entire place is a joke of a restaurant. They should rename it "Rub Salt in the Wound." read more

Don't waste your time, unless you have nothing else to do and want to pay Hampton prices for [insert the worst restaurant you've ever been to] quality food and service. The service was horrendous, (1.5 hours after asking 3Xs and it only came after we said we were walking), but alas it matched the food, which in the restaurant business isn't what you should strive for. I had to give it one star because you can't give anything less and there aren't other icon options. We should have read the reviews before we went and we would have saved ourselves $350+ on awful food and service. On the plus side the Peroni was served cold, but it wasn't enough (or I didn't have enough) to erase the memories of this horrible experience. Enjoy the food photos (note the burger was $18) skip this place even if there are lines at all the other places on Main Street you'll come to realize there's a reason people avoid this place and the tables are empty. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! Where do I begin: 1) we make a reservation for 8 people at 8pm and it takes them 30 minutes to seat us. Right as we are seated, someone comes up to the line of people also waiting to be seated and say that the owner has overbooked the restaurant and that they are too slammed to seat anyone else. 2) we ordered drinks appetizers and entrees. Our waiter, Ben, was a gem and worked very hard to get us our drinks as fast as he could and our food when it was ready. however, they have a kitchen staff of 2 and it took 2 hours to get our food. We got appetizers at 10:20pm which were gross and served cold. The Brussels sprouts were coated in sugar and uncooked. The calamari was not fresh. The lobster Mac and cheese was inedible and we found plastic in it. 3) when trying to understand why it was taking so long to get our food, other waitresses (not our lovely waiter Ben) would roll their eyes at us. The owner is a creep and only hires underage girls who have no idea what they're doing. We asked him what the hold up was and he had no idea what was going on. He gave us free shots to "make up" for the terrible experience and then he ended up charging us for them!! It took us 30 more minutes to fix the bill and not get charged for food/drink that we didn't receive!! 4) THE CREEPY OWNER DID NOT WEAR A MASK AT ANY POINT IN THE NIGHT. NOT GOOD AT ALL. My wife ordered the scallops which came out ice cold No one ever came out to ask how the food was. Finally I went to the bar to ask for my check and noticed they charged me for the fries. My friend and I found the food and staff to be excellent. The food came out fairly quickly considering it was freshly prepared. As we looked around at other tables, we got food envy seeing all the other dishes we could have chose to eat. We both had wine, red & white. Both were very fresh bottles as I'm a wine snob. So thanks to their fresh bottles of wine. The decor has been recently updated. It was sleek and white and bright contrast by the wooden floor. Above all, what a fun, engaging staff. After ordering it took 50 minutes to get our entrees. We had to get silverware from the bartender so we could eat our meals. The location is perfect and the restaurant beautiful. Unfortunately the food and service don't match the decor. Staff is strange and was slurring their words. The Mezze platter was salami so thick you couldn't chew it and the hummus was sabra. Three corners of pita for two people...? The $21 burgers were clearly frozen and avocado dumped underneath...you're having people pay extra and not show them? On top of that for burgers and apps we waited 90 minutes and the fries that tasted like fish. We weren't able to eat our dinners it was so bad. Without calling anyone out, I completely disagree with any review that stresses the need for a "family friendly" place in the area and a more low key venue. There are already MANY locations that fit such description. This place is EXACTLY what WHB needs. It's not a "bar scene- neon Bud Light sign in the window" vibe nor does it have that feel. It's away from the many family friendly ice cream shops, bagels stores, bakeries, and retail shops. It's at the corner, at the end of the block - removed from these locations - thereby maintaining the WHB "feel." I see nothing wrong with a hip, rustic looking "Williamsburg" lounge in the heart of this quaint town. It's what's needed to help attract a younger crowd and create a different type of feel. Don't be afraid of a little change. This needed crowd will only help financially support the community and grow it. The clean and modern feel will attract a crowd that would be a great WHB addition. Additionally, the light staff is due to comments and negative feedback that prevent this place from properly growing and attracting the encouraging attention it needs. More positivity will lend itself to more traffic which will lead to financial means capable of paying more employees.
