We decided to try this place on a Friday night, and I'm so glad we did! The restaurant just opened about two months ago, and they already have another location in Elk Grove. Let me tell you--the food is really good! I had the combination shawarma, while my daughter had the gyro with fries and a drink. My wife had the combination plate, and we also ordered baba ganoush, and falafel, and everything was delicious. The bread was so light and airy, and it was perfect for dipping into the baba ganoush and the hummus that came with the combination plate. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The owners were also incredibly sweet and welcoming. They even gave us some baklava complimentary, which was such a nice touch! Definitely a great place to go if you're craving shawarma, gyros, and some delicious Mediterranean food. We'll definitely be back! read more

To begin, the food is outstanding. The shawarma was perfectly spiced and seasoned. The fries were also seasoned to perfection and the soup? I usually don't like soup, but this one was spectacular. The broth was thick, the vegetables were perfectly cooked, and I look forward to trying it again. When I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff. Delicious, flavorful, fresh food from a small business, yes please!! The inside is very clean and decorated so well. Plenty of comfy booths to choose from, and the wonderful hostess even brought us complimentary soup while we were waiting for our order! Very tasty. We ordered two platters and two gyros, everything was seasoned so nicely and tasted very fresh. The lamb was particularly delicious! Chicken was delightful, both mild and medium spice. I was looking for a Mediterranean halal food restaurant in the Rocklin area and SalSal came up on Yelp. Therefore, reviews were very good and I tried it. Food was very fresh, and excellent taste! Customer service at a very high level from the moment I walked in until I left. The young lady there I believe her name was Gowhar, she was super nice and very knowledgeable about the menu. I was super impressed for a restaurant like this for this level of service even though it's not a fine dining, service was better than fine dining restaurants! The venue was very welcoming, cute and super clean! They were constantly cleaning while I was having my lunch. They really do deserve 10 stars reviews and wish we had a place like this in the East Bay Area where I was visiting from. When I'm back in the area, I will for sure come back to SalSal for lunch. Such a great experience! The food was absolutely delicious and tasted like authentic Mediterranean food. We tried the shawarma, kebab, and platter, and everything was flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly. The service was also excellent--everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. They even gave us a complimentary baklava to try, which was such a nice surprise and a perfect way to finish our meal! Definitely a place we would come back to. The service was great, the couple that runs this restaurant is so so sweet. Also the food is amazing . I got the combination platter and my partner got the combination shawarma with fries. I didn't even get to take a picture of the shawarma because we were too busy eating it! Food is insanely fresh, aromatic and well-seasoned! All of our cravings were satisfied today. They were also so nice to provide a complimentary soup for me while I waited for my order. The soup was also so comforting and had a nice spice to it. Everything came out in about 15 mins for such delicious food and great portions. Food 10/10 Service 10/10 So happy to have stumbled upon this restaurant on the drive home and my family is so impressed by this food! I had the Schwarma, with medium spice, and it was STELLAR. Like a nice earthy heat that lasts only a few seconds, before it just evaporates. I don't even need a coke but sometimes that combo is a fun dance for the palette. I didn't have one tonight but I'll be craving this again soon, very soon, I'll try it then. It was PACKED with chicken, fairly saucy, which I don't mind at all because you can always drain some. It's a nice somewhat runny sauce, like the viscosity of sriracha. I think it's two sauces mixing together, possibly. One fantastic thing that makes me happy is that all of the contents were amalgamated, in that I didn't have large bites of just chicken/lettuce/whatever. The wrap thing is FIRE. It alone sets the dish apart. Guilty pleasure, I would totally eat one by itself, and laugh while chewing it, it just has that density and stretch that feels so good to chew. It's toasted well with some charring and the oils in the dough make it translucent, but it's very supple, elastic, and non/semi-permeable to maintain integrity of the vessel, sauce and all. I think it would saturate if left too long but I didn't see that event horizon. It is possible that you could mess it up though, you have to "attack" it strategically as the McD's CEO would say. You can do it, just think three to four bites ahead and everything will stay clean. It's $13.99 at the time of this posting and the flavors are just... there's nothing left on the plate. I'd estimate it to weigh close to a pound, 13oz maybe? I ate the rest of my gfs chicken kebab plate and it was stellar as well. Juicy chicken, flavorful rice, and a refreshing salad with lots of cucumbers, and a sweet but tangy dressing. If you're hungry after a workout, I'm around 180 and it filled me up easily. The extra plate was just because it was there. In fact, it's not fully gone yet, I'm gonna go finish it now. 9/10 read more

I just moved from Davis and missed my gyros. I tried this place out on a whim and was NOT disappointed! It's seriously one of the best places I have been to in a while and I loved the taste of the combination shawarma and mix gyro. They also made me a cup of their chicken noodle soup that they're putting on the menu in the winter. It's amazing to me that they were so giving and kind! ok i've been to a lot of places, locally that are similar to Salsal but this is in a different league! every item we tried was superior in every way! Food is fresh fresh fresh and prepared well! The meats are far and away better than any other place like in rocklin and roseville! staff was genuine and very friendly!!! i can't say enough about it! We will definitely repeat this experience often! and the baklava is absolutely the best ever!!! This is absolutely the best of its kind in the area! also, it's very nice inside, warm and welcoming! I have tried Salsal's twice now and both times, the food had been fresh and so flavorful!!! I ordered the combination platter and my husband ordered the chicken platter, they had a great serving size. Each included meat, rice, salad, hummus and a tzatziki sauce. I was able to make mine stretch a dinner and lunch! They also have this great chicken lentil soup that isn't on the menu but is soooooo good! I hope they permanently add it! Each time I have come in, I am greeted with a smile and have received excellent service. I am really looking forward to the next meal here! read more

Ordered the Chapli kebab from here as my usual spot was closed. Maybe it was an off day for them idk but it was dry, the spices were way off, inedible and got thrown out. Waste of money tbh. The hummus, tzatziki and pita bread were good which gives it an extra star but I just don't understand how you can fuck up with the main attraction of the meal like that. read more
