I'm here at the Friday lunch Buffet. 19.99 Checked out their menu first before committing. The spread looks great, there's a vegetarian section and the main cuisine. Today's menu was butter chicken, goat curry, biryani, etc. food was delicious and hot. People are friendly and good service. Place is very clean.

stopped by this place on a whim and was seriously impressed. For just $14.99, their buffet is an absolute steal -- not just because of the price, but because of the quality and variety of the food. Every dish had its own unique flavor -- nothing felt like it was just thrown together. You could really taste the thoughtful fusion of Afghan and Indian spices. From rich curries to perfectly grilled meats and fragrant rice dishes, everything was well-seasoned, balanced, and absolutely delicious. I even went back for seconds (okay, maybe thirds). The buffet was way more varied than I expected -- a really nice balance of vegetarian and meat options, plus fresh naan and a couple of standout desserts. The space was clean, the service was friendly, and it had that welcoming, cozy vibe you don't always find in buffet-style spots. If you're craving something flavorful, affordable, and just a little different, this place is a must-try. I'll definitely be coming back -- and bringing friends!

Food was so tasty, I don't often get to experience Afghani, Pakistani, and Indian food at one buffet. So much effort is put into it and more people should experience it!

Shiryakh - an ice cream like dessert

Went here with my family after craving Indian food. They actually serve Afghan, Indian and Pakistani food which is a nice introduction if, like me, you've never had Afghan and Pakistani. We were greeted by their friendly host and asked us if we would like to wash our hands before eating ( a first and so far only experience) which was nice. This was a case of quality over quantity in my book. The selection wasn't as extensive as I had hoped, but they made up for it in taste. The butter chicken was tender and had a deeper flavor than most other places I've been to. My favorite was their mantou and their shiryakh (picture) which was hand made. The price wasn't too bad, the staff were friendly and the food? Great to say the least.

The whole buffet. Not worth 17.00.

I went on a Monday right at 11am. They weren't ready, so I waited 20 minutes for them to put food in the steam tables. Service was nonexistent, the empty plates just piled up when there's no customers in the restaurant. The buffet was limited and small. No fresh naan, only offered in the steam tables. The left half was vegetarian and the right half was all chicken. The food is fresh, but the offerings wasn't worth the price of admission. They recently raised their price to 17.00 for the weekday lunch buffet. I would much rather go to Shagun in North Highlands for 13.00 and get goat curry and fish pakora. They have garlic naan freshly baked to your table.

Delicious food, clean area and good service. We went there with a family of 15 and we had great course of meals and the Afghan ice cream

    Lamb Gyro

Had a wonderful dinner tonight at Shor Bazaar Grill. My husband had the Qabili Palaw, full of exquisite flavors and well-cooked. A friend had the Lamb Gyro, one of the best he's had (it looked fabulous). I had Mantu - absolutely delicious. It was a dream dish. The variety of textures and flavors were mesmerizing on my tongue. The food was served piping hot by a helpful and friendly waiter. However, the dirty dishes could have been picked up off the table far sooner. Other than that, it was a perfect dinner. They offer menu items and flavors I have not seen in this area, and a large variety of dishes. I consider this restaurant a real find and a great addition to the restaurant offerings in the Roseville/Rocklin area. We will return often.

She'd noticed my growing curiosity about Afghan cuisine from a previous visit elsewhere and gently pointed me toward Chopan Kabob House, insisting it was worth the experience. There was something comforting in that recommendation--like being guided toward a place that already held meaning for someone you trust. When I arrived, I was immediately struck by the restaurant's clean, welcoming atmosphere. The space felt intentional--nicely furnished without being overwhelming, simple yet warm. I mentioned I was ordering takeout, and the gentleman behind the counter handed me a menu. At first glance, it seemed straightforward, but the more I looked, the more it felt thoughtfully curated--each item carrying a sense of tradition and care. Wanting a proper introduction, I chose the Combination Kabob with Tikka and chicken. It felt like the right balance--a way to experience more in a single meal. I was told it would take about 20 minutes, and as I sat waiting, I found myself appreciating that detail. In a world built on speed, those 20 minutes felt reassuring. It suggested intention, freshness, and the kind of cooking that isn't rushed. When I finally brought the meal home and opened the container, I was genuinely surprised. The portions were generous--almost abundant. A vibrant salad added a refreshing contrast, while the long-grain rice was fragrant and perfectly cooked. Then there were the stars of the meal: the Tikka beef and the chicken, both beautifully prepared. Each bite carried depth--layers of spices and seasoning that felt both bold and comforting. It wasn't just flavorful; it felt rooted in something deeper, something traditional. By the time I finished, I realized this wasn't just a satisfying meal--it was an experience that lingered. There's a certain nostalgia in discovering a place like this for the first time, especially through the recommendation of someone close to you. It feels personal, almost like being let in on a secret. I'm already looking forward to returning, perhaps next time to dine in and take in the full experience. And with a menu that promises more to explore, this feels less like a one-time visit and more like the beginning of a new favorite.

Although, she took our order and literally mixed up everything, giving us another tables order, tsking our order to them, forgetting our drinks, just endless absent mindedness. Not sure if its just due to age/memory but I dodnt hold any of it against her or this review. I got the koobdieh plate. My daughter got the chicken curry. We got the mantoo as an appetizer. Free salad = good Mantoo = good (but neded more spice) Koobedieh = okay, have had better Rice = very grainy/hard, not your typical basmati rice...maybe it's supposed to be that way? Chicken curry = terrible. The chicken was weird like a stale chip...not sure if it was frozen too long but it wasnt good at all. The curry itself was pretty bland. Rice was the same as I mentioned earlier. I think you can get you "fix" if you're in the mood for middle Eastern food but it really wasnt very good and it isnt the cheapest.

This is a meat-forward menu in a serious way, and if you are vegetarian, this is probably not the place where you will feel especially catered to. For everyone else, the food is consistently excellent. The flavors are deep, well-spiced, and clearly cooked with care. Nothing feels rushed or careless. Everything we tried was good, but the lamb shank is on another level. Fall-apart tender, richly seasoned, and deeply satisfying in that slow-cooked way that makes you stop talking mid-bite. This is what the chef's kiss gesture exists for. Kamdesh is confident in its lane and does not try to be everything to everyone. If you love meat and bold, comforting flavors, you will be very happy here. If you do not, you should plan accordingly. Five stars for execution, especially that lamb shank.
