Every bite was delicious, place was cleaner, plenty of tables and seating inside, some outdoor seating that'd be perfect for dinner, fantastic service and warm ambience for any occasion. Chicken Tikka masala was great but not fantastic in my opinion compared to a few of favorite spots. Why 4 stars? Ugh the waaaaait was sooo loooong! 30-45 min for food when only 2 other very small parties were there besides us?! I mean small - a single and a couple. That's it. I came here around 5:10 and waited till 6:40 for my food the get ready I ordered bread as well and by the time I was finished with my food they brought my bread which there was no point in it overall the food was a good 6.5 out of 10 . read more

I've only gone twice for lunch buffet. The selection isn't anything crazy, but they have the stuff I really like (butter chicken, tandoori, naan, basmati rice) so I can't complain. They also have a few desserts, one was baklava or something similar and chai tea which I love. I think the food varies, but both times the staples were there. My husband loves it too, he's more adventurous and had more stuff on his plate, but we love the food and the value is excellent! It's super casual, looks like a transformed diner with booths and that kind of set-up. They have a fridge with drinks and freezer with ice creams that you just get yourself. They greet you at the door, confirm you're there for the buffet and once I got asked if I would like to wash my hands first (and I did! I honestly hope they ask everyone that!). No one to greet you. Rang the bell 3 times. Still nothing. Then Someone from the kitchen finally came out. Ordered the beef mantoo but they gave me lamb. I tried to explain to the guy who brought it out that I ordered beef, not lamb. He didn't speak English. The mantoo had very little meat inside and were lukewarm and topped with a bunch of cilantro and chopped cabbage. The cabbage didn't add to the dish. When I was almost done the guy who took my order came out. I explained they gave me lamb not beef and I don't like lamb very much. He found out from the kitchen that they ran out of beef so just gave me lamb without even telling me. Then when he gave me the check, he charged me for the lamb which cost more. Came on Friday June 5, 2026 about 1:30 with 2 other people for the lunch buffet after reading good reviews. Cashier was nice, told us to sit anywhere. We chose a table in the middle of the booths that lined the wall. Got our food and I was eating when what I thought was a knat was on my plate. I didn't pay much attention to it since it was on the edge. More time into our meal, another person points where the table touches the wall and asks if it is a bee. Other diner at my table looks closer and it is a cockroach. Then we see my so called "knat" run across the table - it was a tiny cockroach. As the large one started running on the table - we all got up quickly. We were about half way done eating but were not interested in having any more. We went to the cashier. More people had come in and I didn't want to embarrass her by putting her on the spot, so I whispered to her what had happened. She didn't seem surprised and said " sorry about that" as she rang up 3 buffets and 1 mango lassi. I handed her the $71 and was shocked that she even took it - not even offering to take something off the bill. I went home and a few hours later in thinking more about it, I texted the restaurant, explained the situation and asked for the manager to call me. No one has ever called or texted back - nothing, but the text showed that it was read not long after I sent it. I was hoping someone would contact me, assure me that they are fixing the bug problem and actually sound shocked about it. There is no way anyone sitting in the booths would not see the cockroaches at some point. There was an employee at the far end of the booths making quite a bit of noise throughout our meal fixing something - I wonder if all the commotion was making them come out in the daylight. Hopefully they get some pest control so that other people don't have to experience it. read more

I went on a Monday right at 11am. They weren't ready, so I waited 20 minutes for them to put food in the steam tables. Service was nonexistent, the empty plates just piled up when there's no customers in the restaurant. The buffet was limited and small. No fresh naan, only offered in the steam tables.The left half was vegetarian and the right half was all chicken. The food is fresh, but the offerings wasn't worth the price of admission. They recently raised their price to 17.00 for the weekday lunch buffet. I would much rather go to Shagun in North Highlands for 13.00 and get goat curry and fish pakora. They have garlic naan freshly baked to your table. read more

Went here with my family after craving Indian food. They actually serve Afghan, Indian and Pakistani food which is a nice introduction if, like me, you've never had Afghan and Pakistani. We were greeted by their friendly host and asked us if we would like to wash our hands before eating ( a first and so far only experience) which was nice. This was a case of quality over quantity in my book. The selection wasn't as extensive as I had hoped, but they made up for it in taste. The butter chicken was tender and had a deeper flavor than most other places I've been to. My favorite was their mantou and their shiryakh (picture) which was hand made. Had a wonderful dinner tonight at Shor Bazaar Grill. My husband had the Qabili Palaw, full of exquisite flavors and well-cooked. A friend had the Lamb Gyro, one of the best he's had (it looked fabulous). I had Mantu - absolutely delicious. It was a dream dish. The variety of textures and flavors were mesmerizing on my tongue. The food was served piping hot by a helpful and friendly waiter. However, the dirty dishes could have been picked up off the table far sooner. Other than that, it was a perfect dinner. They offer menu items and flavors I have not seen in this area, and a large variety of dishes. I consider this restaurant a real find and a great addition to the restaurant offerings in the Roseville/Rocklin area. We will return often. read more

Went for their Grand Opening $9.99 Weekend Lunch buffet today. Very limited vegetarian options, but they did have appetizers, salad, and watermelon too. Good value for meat eaters - Chicken, Goat, some Afghani items, Biryani in addition to the vegetarian items. Can tell they are new at this restaurant business though. They ran out of food items frequently, ran out of plates at the buffet, new customers standing at the buffet waiting for plates. They also ran out of tea ( saw 5+ people going up for some and realizing the urn was empty.). Also, they don't have a sign about getting a new plate if you go to the buffet for a subsequent trip. They also didn't tell any of their customers to get new plates, so a lot of them took up their soiled plates when they went for more food. Kind of problematic when you don't have enough plates to begin with. They also made me pay the full $9.99 for a toddler too, which kind of sucked since they ate a limited amount of rice, salad, and watermelon and that's it. There should have been a reduced price if you are under 10. Ambiance is the same as it was with the prior restaurant that they took over ( Biryani Xpress), nothing spectacular. They still have that old restaurant's name on menus too. I think that same spot has had 4 or more restaurants come and go in the last 2-3 years. Buffet presentation could have been better too. So now for the good - Food was tasty, so you wanted to make another trip to the buffet. Both the vegetarians and the meat eaters went back for more food after the initial trip. I hope to leave a better review later when I return and they learn a few things. read more
