If you've followed my Yelp reviews for any length of time, you already know one thing about me--I'm a full-blown gyro fanatic. If I see a gyro shop and the timing is right, I'm stopping. I absolutely love a well-seasoned lamb and beef combo. With this review, I have to admit something that's a little embarrassing. I've lived in Lincoln for three years, driven by Express Gyro countless times, and kept telling my wife, "We need to try that place." Somehow, I never walked through the door. No more excuses. Yes, it's tucked away a bit...but they also have a big ol' sign out front. I simply waited way too long. Well, let me tell you... IT WAS FANTASTIC! I ordered the Lamb & Beef Gyro, and from the very first bite I knew I'd been missing out. The meat was perfectly seasoned, tender, and cooked just right. They piled on the fresh vegetables, added the perfect amount of sauce, and then the owner asked a question I'd never been asked before: "Do you want it a little spicy?" Absolutely! That little kick took an already outstanding gyro to another level. Every bite hit exactly what a gyro lover hopes for. What really stood out, though, was the pride they take in their restaurant. This is a family-owned and operated business, and you can feel it from the moment you walk in. The service was warm and friendly, the restaurant was clean and inviting, and the food reflected the care they put into every order. Express Gyro absolutely knocked it out of the park. I'm kicking myself for waiting three years to stop in, but one thing is certain--I won't be waiting that long before my next visit. Both were really good and a refreshing break from our typical go-to meals. We don't eat Greek or Mediterranean food very often, so it was nice to experience some new flavors.I placed our order online, and the pickup process was seamless. As soon as I walked in, the employee behind the counter was incredibly polite and helpful. He immediately pointed out where to get the iced tea I had ordered and even asked if I wanted ice, taking the extra step to put it in the cup for me. I had the chicken gyro (add olives) and the Greek fries (add olives) the gyro was good, great pita, good serving size and toppings, and the chicken was pretty standard gyro chicken. My husband and I stopped by Express Gyro in Lincoln for a late lunch. You order at the counter and they brought our food to us. I ordered the chicken plate, which came with chicken topped with tzatziki, rice, garlic hummus, and warm pita bread. My husband got the chicken loaded fries, and both meals were absolutely delicious -- and the portions are generous! The inside is clean and inviting, with plenty of seating options, plus a nice outdoor seating area if you want to enjoy your meal outside. 6/16/2023: I posted my Express Gyro receipt; I had no choice but, ordering an inhaling session of a beef and lamb combination plate, one order of two garlic Hummus, and one mango Lassi to-go due to the fact, I had to have my Toyota 4-Runner's brand new tires' realigned and re-balanced-AGAIN--AUGH. Welp~That's the main reason for being so far away from my humble abode; there wasn't a Firestone Auto Care appointment available in Sacramento: Therefore, I might as well inhale a beef and lamb combination plate, one order of two garlic Hummus, and one mango Lassi while waiting for my Toyota 4-Runner's tires brand new tires' realigned and re-balanced. It was rather amusing inhaling my exotic cuisine meal at Firestone's waiting room; customers were literally staring at me while I was in the midst of my inhaling session, i.e., devouring every morsel on the to-go box~lol . . . I WAS FAMISHED. Still, my only complaint was the food wasn't piping hot--just lukewarm. I've been a loyal customer to Express hero since 2020. I love Greek food and this is the best Greek food place I've ever been to. The owner and staff are polite and wonderful people. I always get the all meat gyro, spicy, and it never disappoints. The only thing I can say is it surprised me when my 10-year-old daughter ate it faster than me. When I go there they treat me like family love this place and these people!!! I love the mural of grease on the wall and also the cultural music that they have playing really sets the vibe. I had an itch for something different, she 9n a very warm summer day Greek food seemed like a mighty good choice. I ordered online for pickup and it was ever so easy. Just go to the restaurant web site and the menu with photos is there, and simple to navigate. The order consisted of two meat plates of beef and lamb, with a choice of sides. I opted for the spicy cilantro hummus. The plate comes with a small salad, rice, and half a pita bread. To compliment the order I also got the Greek salad, an order of Greek fries and two orders of falafel (4 per orde). Everything was ready and packaged well for travel when I arrived... OK, an insignificant short wait, but the owners are very nice and personable, and appreciate the business. Overall, the portions are quite generous and the food is very good, hearty and tasty. The fries were very good the meat fresh and delicious, rice was fluffy and salad fresh as well. It isn't high end Greek cuisine, but quite satisfying simple Greek dishes, taverna style. It's "Express" Gyro so quality/taste is very similar to "Taco Express" but we don't have the significant price savings for this place. Ordered a Beef Lamb plate which prices $5 more than the Mediterranean place by my house... Only one Pita included, it was thick/chewy, the classic hummus kind of basic flavored. The meat looks/feels/tastes cheaper and constrained to one corner of the box. There is a lot of rice if you consider that as a ratio to your overall meal. read more

Ordered a beef and lamb gyro from this place. It was slightly overpriced being $12. Regardless, i got it pretty quickly. There was a lot more meat than i expected, which was fantastic, no complaints. As the name suggests it's "express"... Ordered their chicken plate and it was just ok. I was hungry, so I ate most of it except the hummus ( it was just salt, not much of flavor) its texture wasn't smooth, proof that it was homemade. Chicken was good more on the dry side since they use chicken breast. Though that it will be grill since it's Mediterranean but it was more oven cook then boil with yellow spices (maybe turmeric) But the main reason why I gave 2 stars is their hygiene code!!! Both worker at the front didn't wear gloves, mask or hair net plus they were chit chatting while preparing food... specially on these pandemic days.. everyone should be more concern. I wouldn't post any of the workers pics showing that they aren't wearing any gloves/mask/hairnet since I think it's inappropriate to show their faces. The flavor of the beef/lamb meat is so crazy good!! Their pitas are soft and warm and their hummus taste really fresh. I'm a big fan of their tzatziki sauce. They have a big parking lot and parking is free. This place reminds me of Extreme Hummus in Citrus Heights, same ownership? So sadly I have to compare; the prices and portions at extreme hummus are better so I had to take off 1 star. read more

It's more like a 3.5 but I'm feeling generous. Small place with a bigger outdoor seating area. Very friendly boss man. Clean with pictures and murals of Greece. Menus and pictures of food everywhere. I ordered the beef and lamb gyro. The meat was soft and didn't taste as beefy or lamby like I like. There was no char so just a very soft bland texture. I thought the tzaziki sauce was very runny. I wouldn't order the beef and lamb gyro again. We tried both the hot sauce and the spicy cilantro sauce and they are very heavy on the vinegar. Cilantro sauce was spicier than the red sauce. Greek fries were just ok, tzaziki, hot sauce and feta cheese made for a very tart bite. The good: the falafel (which will take about 8 mins to make) was delicious! Nice texture, has a crunch but isn't crispy. Soft on the inside, heavy on the cumin. So tasty! Baklava was the nicest one I've had in a while. Not cloying sweet or super sticky, great taste and texture. BD liked his Greek salad. Said there was dried herbs mixed in that made it exciting. Saffron ice cream was enjoyed by all. Vanilla ice cream with saffron... oil? Cream? Liquid of some sort drizzled on top. Would come back for falafels! read more

Been here for lunch 2 or 3 times in the last few months. Mixed feelings on this one. The service is very friendly and efficient. Employees are really nice. The dining area is clean and comfortable enough. Hummus and baklava are excellent. However, meats are hit and miss. The gyro meat has a very soft texture, I don't think it's fresh off a rotisserie spit. The chicken tastes better but my shawarma wrap came in lavash bread and not a pita. And the lavash disintegrated into a soggy mess after just a couple of bites. Not sure if we'll be back, since the wife found the gyro meat unpalatable. read more
