    Veggie Sampler
    Parveen L.

First time here and it did not disappoint. We drove from Elk Grove to try because of the top reviews. The rice under the chicken shawarma glazed with pomegranate sauce was so soft and fluffy, the chicken is on the sweet side but I loved it and I topped with hot sauce and tzatziki from my veggie sampler so delicious! High quality ingredients. Hummus fresh flavorful, dolma was perfect. My husband had the lamb gyro and he ate it and enjoyed every bite. I don't think he spoke while eating it. Haha We also took home baklava, delicate and light with a touch of sweetness. I cannot wait to go back. Plenty of seating, staff were attentive and proud of their food. I'm going back soon!

I ordered the Chicken Pomegranate and it was scrumptious! The dish came with a large salad, hummus, rice, taziki sauce, and lots of pomegranate marinaded chicken. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was very moist. The rice was moist, fluffy, and delectable. The pomegranate flavor was perfect and not too sweet. The chicken and the sauce complimented the rice well and the flavors combined perfectly. The portion was adequate for the price. Service was excellent as the workers were friendly, cleared dishes, and were helpful. Ordering at the counter is fast and convenient.

So I've been craving some dolmas for awhile and found myself near Zest , so I had to grab some for lunch and it was soooo worth it. When you walk in the door you're greeted with smile and a hello . The food is all made to order (atleast my gyro and dolmas were) and very flavorful. The inside is welcoming and family friendly . Beautiful mural on the wall and comfortable a/c. If you are interested and in the area , this is definitely worth a visit.

My favorite restaurant in Folsom! It worked perfectly for our family since two are vegans. I had the Chicken Shawarma with Pomegranate plate & it was incredible, with lean pieces of chicken breast, infused with a lovely pomegranate shawarma marinade. The rice was very flavorful as well, and was embedded in the savory sauce. My daughter got the falafel plate, my other daughter got the falafel wrap (it's a bit smaller than it used to be), Lebanese pickles, and lentil soup. They both really liked their dishes. My Mom got the tomato hummus (sooo good!) and Dolmus. The plate dishes, the falafel & chicken pomegranate shawarma, BTW were humongous. You can easily share & we brought plenty of leftovers home.

Lamb kabob cuts were tough this time. Need better consistency. Everything else was delicious!

Hmm ...the lamb kabobs at Zest Mediterranean eatery in Folsom, CA, looked and tasted different from my prior visits. A few weeks ago, I ordered the lamb kabob plate $23.99 to go which is my usual order. But the lamb pieces were tough. Chewy. Each piece was like that. Ohhh what happened?!? My previous orders had tender and moist, flavorful cuts. So it seems they need to work on consistency. Not sure if the cuts were properly butchered against the grain to get the most tender cuts. The plate came with side plate of Mediterranean salad, hummus, bread and rice pilaf. All of that was delicious and visually beautiful. The salad was a a good serving size with fresh ingredients and topped with a touch of sumac. Yes. The dressing was darn delicious. The hummus was fantastic. The pilaf was light and fluffy, flavorful. The tzatziki was refreshing and served chilled. The pita bread was super thin and flat. Different take from most other eateries. The interior is clean but not giving off modern vibes. Basic interior. The service is counter service with the food brought out to you. It was warm inside as I sat and waited for my order. The AC was limping along on this mild summer day.

Combo plate w/ pomegranate chicken and beef kabobs
    Kim N.

I really enjoyed my meal here and loved how they plated my food! The pita bread, hummus, side salad, and sauces were great! Everything was included in my combo plate of beef kabobs and pomegranate chicken. I deducted one star because, for my preference, I was not a fan of the quality of meat they used (especially when this plate is $25+ after tax and tip). The chicken was a little dry, but this wasn't what caught me off guard. The beef kabobs tasted like low quality cuts of meat for stew instead of the regular, juicy steak kabobs that I'm used to; it was also a little dry. I definitely would come back to try their other items and more plates, but I would skip the beef kabobs.

So lucky to have more than 1 great Mediterranean place in Folsom and this place is high on our list! We usually get some type of gyro or plate and the baklavas are a MUST. I swear you won't regret getting a full box because 1 simply won't do! Thank me later.

The food was good, have been wanting to try this place for awhile. While you order at the counter, they brought it out to us. Portions are generous, and my veggie platter was so pretty. The restaurant itself was clean, very basic as far as tables and chairs go.

    A HUGE platter for $20

This place was AMAZING! When we walked in, not a lot of people were there surprisingly so I'm guessing that a lot of people got to-go, but also to be fair we did walk in on a work day. Anyways, the staff were pretty good and friendly, and the food? The food wasn't too pricy and we got A LOT!! Like, $20 for a platter that would feed 3-4 people! Just like another place I know. Food wasn't too spicy either, which I love. I would 100% RECOMMEND this place! Delicious food, good pricing... 5 STARS. Absolutely.

    Falafel Wrap
    Zach Z.

What a disappointment. I figured that with such a high rating this spot would have delivered a lot better on food quality and price. I am honestly not sure how the owner(s) are not embarrassed by the portion sizes of the beef shawarma and falafel wraps, and for how much they have them priced. The wraps are snack sized and tiny. Inside was clean and all the tables were empty. The food portion is definitely not worth the price. The greater Sacramento area has many more places worth going that will provide a good portion at a reasonable price. The two men working the counter were attentive and nice, so that was appreciated, but I definitely won't be back.

Server did offer to let us choose 2 different meats for our two #41 Koobideh plates (2 beef skewers for $25), but I think we would have been better off just ordering one #61 All Koobideh plate (3 different meat skewers for $34). One plate has plenty of basmati rice for two people to share. She suggested the two #41 orders, instead of answering how much an extra order of rice would cost. Maybe you can't order a side of rice? Rice comes with each entree. By ordering the 2nd plate, she offered or included the $8 Bread Basket for no extra charge. It was my friend's birthday. I wanted to pay, and she wanted to order extra to go, so I wanted two separate bills, but it seemed too complicated to explain or disallowed. After the food was delivered to the table, server didn't check on us anymore. I guess the restaurant doesn't do anything special for birthdays. My friend thought all the koobideh tasted the same. I liked them in this order: 1) Lamb, 2) Chicken, and 3) Beef, but they're the same texture, so they aren't all that different. I should have ordered a different 2nd entree, instead of two Koobideh plates. The #18 Bademjan Borani eggplant appetizer was yummy. It did come with some bread, so you don't have to order the bread basket. The bread is served warm. The basmati rice was light and fluffy, but not flavorful or buttery. You can pay a $4 upgrade to switch the rice to salad or a fancier stir fried rice. Read the Vegetarian Dishes menu section to learn about the various fried rice or polo preparations. Our server suggested the Fava Bean Rice or Baghali Polo because it is a Persian New Year dish. Yelp reviewers recommended the Zereshk Polo, which includes barberries, a fruit similar to currants. $10 to add a skewer of veggies. $4 to add a salad is mentioned under the Vegetarian Dishes menu and Seafood & Combination Plates menu. I didn't like how the sugar cubes for the Persian Tea were served. It looked communal and exposed to the elements. You could see sugar dust on the serving bowl. Other Persian restaurants serve the sugar in a smaller covered bowl. Formal dining room. Lunch specials are Monday to Friday, 11 am to 3 pm, excluding holidays. Lunch prices range from $16-$20. 3 different $8 soup offerings: chicken barley, ashe reshteh, or green lentil.
