    Ground Lamb Kabob Dinner
    Rich R.

I finally had the chance to visit this place after hearing many good things about it. It is located in a nondescript part of a strip mall, so it is very easy to miss. We came in around 6:15pm and there was one group of 4 ahead of us. We were promptly seated and the waiter took our order. The salads and bread that came with the dish were served immediately. We were so glad because the main dish came in 30 minutes later. The food was seasoned well but missing something. I tried sprinkling some salt and voila my dinner was perfect. They also have a very nice outdoor seating with grape vines! This is definitely a hidden gem.

We have been coming here for years. The food is alway delicious. The service is wonderful and friendly. We never leave with a take out container, because we can't quit eating this wonderful food. The restaurant is always very clean and nice and cool in the summer. The outside patio with all the beautiful grape vines and grape clusters is amazing.

Poor looking falafel gyro, falafels tasted store bought and so did pita bread
    Cyn D.

The customer service was good, the food, mediocre. The spanakopita was the best thing. The falafel gyro was dry and falafels tasted store bought, the salad that came with the gyro was looking a little withered and discolored. Not for me and wouldn't come back. The ambiance however is nice, cool outdoor seating, it's too bad the food doesn't match the decor and environment.

Cold, dry, microwaved for like 30 seconds falafel pita sandwich. Nasty.

The service was great. Addi, and the manager were awesome. Literally. Everything else was disgusting. Food was cold, stale, bland, store bought and not properly reheated. The blue carpet was dingy and the decor was from 1982. We should have left when we walked in, but we were starving and thought we'd give it a shot. Left without eating or paying, and got some snacks from Trader Joe's on the way home. Beware.

I recalled there was a Petra Greek in Folsom's Palladio shopping center. So off I go. The cashier was polite, and knowledgeable about the menu and food. The dining room had a lot of seating, and was kept neat 'n tidy. I got my to go order super quick. My Petra combination was yummy. Not the best ever, tasty nonetheless. The combo plate came with rice, Greek salad (which was big chunks of tomatoes & cucumbers with Kalamata olives, red onions and feta cheese) , chicken souvlaki, pork souvlaki, beeftekia, pita bread and choice of tzatziki or hummus. The chicken and pork were tender; the skewered meat was flame cooked giving a barbecued flavor. The beeftekia is a patty of ground pork and beef and spiced up. Very unique flavor. I couldn't decide on hummus or tzatziki so I ordered both for an extra $2. The Petra plate is alot of food, get ready to strap on the ole feed bag. With the quantity comes a higher price. $23.99. The extra sauce $2 might not seem to be a lot of money but for the itsy bitsy container, I thought it was pricey. I haven't been here in over a hot minute. As I was driving about looking for a parking space as if I were scouting for dry land from being lost at sea; I realize why it's been over a hot minute since my last visit. Finding parking is ruff. There are few spaces in front of the shops which the stars didn't align for any spots being open when I drove by. There is a parking garage and open lot but it's a walk in. I gave up on the parking garage after driving to the second floor and driving half way through, no available spaces. So I truck back out to the lot in front of Kirkland and See's. I walked in from there, along the way bopping about like frogger trying to cross the lot and crosswalk without getting hit.

It's in a small plaza next to a pawn shop and a Mexican spot, and while the restaurant is on the smaller side, all the window signs make it easy to find. The man who greeted me didn't talk much, but it was a fast and simple pickup. When the order came out, everything was already packed up and ready to go. I peeked inside the bag before leaving and was excited to see a full chicken platter with rice, salad, hummus, and tzatziki. They also included a chicken gyro on a super soft pita with lots of chicken chunks and fresh veggies and herbs. The food was delicious even after a twenty minute drive home. The tzatziki tasted really fresh, the rice was fluffy and seasoned well, and the chicken had great flavor. There was plenty of food for me, my husband, and our four year old to share. I noticed they offer catering too, and I would definitely consider them for a future gathering. Really impressed and looking forward to coming back to try more.

Server did offer to let us choose 2 different meats for our two #41 Koobideh plates (2 beef skewers for $25), but I think we would have been better off just ordering one #61 All Koobideh plate (3 different meat skewers for $34). One plate has plenty of basmati rice for two people to share. She suggested the two #41 orders, instead of answering how much an extra order of rice would cost. Maybe you can't order a side of rice? Rice comes with each entree. By ordering the 2nd plate, she offered or included the $8 Bread Basket for no extra charge. It was my friend's birthday. I wanted to pay, and she wanted to order extra to go, so I wanted two separate bills, but it seemed too complicated to explain or disallowed. After the food was delivered to the table, server didn't check on us anymore. I guess the restaurant doesn't do anything special for birthdays. My friend thought all the koobideh tasted the same. I liked them in this order: 1) Lamb, 2) Chicken, and 3) Beef, but they're the same texture, so they aren't all that different. I should have ordered a different 2nd entree, instead of two Koobideh plates. The #18 Bademjan Borani eggplant appetizer was yummy. It did come with some bread, so you don't have to order the bread basket. The bread is served warm. The basmati rice was light and fluffy, but not flavorful or buttery. You can pay a $4 upgrade to switch the rice to salad or a fancier stir fried rice. Read the Vegetarian Dishes menu section to learn about the various fried rice or polo preparations. Our server suggested the Fava Bean Rice or Baghali Polo because it is a Persian New Year dish. Yelp reviewers recommended the Zereshk Polo, which includes barberries, a fruit similar to currants. $10 to add a skewer of veggies. $4 to add a salad is mentioned under the Vegetarian Dishes menu and Seafood & Combination Plates menu. I didn't like how the sugar cubes for the Persian Tea were served. It looked communal and exposed to the elements. You could see sugar dust on the serving bowl. Other Persian restaurants serve the sugar in a smaller covered bowl. Formal dining room. Lunch specials are Monday to Friday, 11 am to 3 pm, excluding holidays. Lunch prices range from $16-$20. 3 different $8 soup offerings: chicken barley, ashe reshteh, or green lentil.

I was craving a yummy Falafel Corner Chicken Shawarma wrap and visited the Granite Bay restaurant which was closest to my location at the time. I should've known something was not right about this Falafel Corner when I was greeted by a white boy who didn't know what Chicken Shwarma was. My food was truly awful and tasted nothing like the Chicken Shawarma at the other 5 locations I've been to. This version of the wrap had hardly any meat which BYW did not taste anything like Falfel Corner Chicken Shawarma. Instead of being packed with delicious chicken and onions, this wrap had spinach filler mixed in with the chicken and everything was completely drenched in a nasty sauce that absolutely was not tahini or tzatziki. It almost tasted fishy and looked slightly pink. It was totally gross. I ate a few bites and threw that nasty sandwich in my compost. I would have asked for my money back if I was eating onsite. But unfortunately I took this nasty wrap to go and didn't know what I was in for until I got home. One thing is for sure, I will never return to this Falafel Corner location ever again.
