Falafel Bowl
Jordan M.

My husband and I tried Extreme Hummus on a whim one day and we're so happy that we did! I got a falafel bowl and my husband got a chicken plate. We both really liked our food. You get a good amount of food as well. We got it to go and it was ready when we went to grab it. Still hot and delicious once we got home.

Tracy L.

This spot was a random find since I was driving through the area from Sacramento to Roseville but I was impressed. I ended up ordering the Beef & Lamb Gyro without tomato. I thought the size overall was very good and a solid price for what you're getting. My only thing is whenever I sub out an ingredient, places always give me extra of something else. I got the gyro without tomato and then they ended up giving me more lettuce, which I preferred to have the normal amount of lettuce. I thought the service was good; food took about 10-15 minutes to come out, which wasn't bad at all. They also had a seating area so me and my friend could enjoy our meal.

This is the menu found at the drive-through. Come here if you are charging on the EVGO.

If you are an EV driver, I recommend go to here while using EVGO charging. I am loving this place cuz they have spicy, healthy food. Try the vegan gyro with the vegan Taziki in it. they also have a three hummus sampler where you can try three of their five cleverly conceived of hummus. One of those vegan options is a pesto! I found the service to be excellent even at the drive-through. Very helpful and they understood dietary restrictions i discussed. They cool decorations, including a lot of Greek inspired things

Sooooooooooooo slowwwwwwwww. Took me 30-45 to get my food. So glad I had my phone. The salad was meh. Just iceberg lettuce and a little oil. Skimpy on the flat bread, only a half slice for a whole order. The hummus...well the hummus was delicious. I got roasted garlic. But I had very little chicken and pita to enjoy it with. Ambiance was also meh. Cafeteria like seating.

We ordered for in-dining and still had to eat out of a plastic box, which although is efficient was not ideal. I did not take the leftovers.
Todd P.

Good hummus and rice. Meat combo way too salty for me and my mom. Dolma and falafel better from Costco imo. Not trying to trash the place just constructive criticism. I saw the owner sprucing up the outside. He obviously cares about his business, but I am suspect at the 1400+ 4.5 star reviews being legit.

7) Chicken Gyro with jalapeño hummus and fries topping.
Matthew K.

Returned after a few months, and my order hadn't forgotten me: chicken gyro, jalapeño hummus, fries inside. Like a culinary muscle memory. Still hits. Still the champion. The pita's warm and soft, the chicken's flavorful and juicy, and the jalapeño hummus brings just enough heat to keep it interesting without overwhelming anything. And those fries tucked inside are still the right move. Honestly feels like a secret menu item, even though they're happy to do it. This place is fast, friendly, and delicious.

Underwhelming chicken gyro (2/5)
Sarah A.

Chicken gyro was underwhelming (2/5). Was expecting grilled chicken, not whatever wet chicken thing they used. The Greek fries was also just white sauce, feta, and some meat (3/5). Was hoping for some hummus on the fries. Fries were nice and crispy though. $30+ food these two items did not feel worth it. Maybe it's because we came late. Service was quick though.

I've been coming here since I was 15. Almost 10 years!!!! The quality, flavor, everything has always been CONSISTENT! I have always gotten the chicken kabob plate. I used to get the sun dried tomato pesto hummus, but sadly they don't make it anymore so the cilantro jalapeño is my new fave. The Greek fries are so good, and their iced tea is also super refreshing. If you like sweet teas it won't be for you, but if you love tea in general I'd say you would enjoy it. Even when I have moved out of CA, over the years I have always searched for a place that could be similar to Extreme Hummus and have never found it. I will love this place forever!!!

Gyro plate

Pretty good Mediterranean food! At first when I saw the drive-through window outside I was worried if this place is fast food and not legit, but was I wrong! Once I walked inside the restaurant you see pretty nice (Mediterranean?) decorations everywhere. Even the bathroom was super clean inside. The food is pretty good! The rice is plain white, which was unexpected because usually I thought there is some kind of sauce to make the rice non-white. In any case the rice and gyro tasted good, and the Tzatziki sauce on the side tasted legit. Everything was served warm which was nice! The service is good. I asked a bunch of newbie questions and the staff took the time to answer me. I asked for utensils and they were happy to include them. All in all, a good place for Mediterranean food!

8) Beef & Lamb Gyro

The restaurant is clean and staff is friendly. I got the beef and lamb gyro plate with garlic hummus. 5/5 delicious!

First time, can't wait!

Wow, simply delicious. We were going to head out to our usual Mediterranean restaurant for take out. It it was almost 8pm. So, we chanced upon extreme hummus- we glad we did. Place was clean and tidy. Good, yes, delicious! Both the Kobideh and combo lamb and beef plate was superb. If you consume kosher/halal food, this is the place to go to. Friendly, good portion was a plenty. The bread was really good and both the original and garlic hummus was super yummy. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for lunch/dinner. They have a drive thru. We going to try the falafel and gyro next! Extreme Hummus, thank you for staying open late!

Chicken Bowl w/ extreme signature hummus and tzatziki sauce
Kelsey S.

It's been a few years since I've had this place, but it's still as good the first I had it. I ordered the chicken bowl with extreme signature hummus and tzatziki sauce. It was so flavorful and filling! My friend tried the pesto hummus on his bowl and loved it! I ordered a side of fries for the first time and they were cooked perfectly. They remind me of McDonalds fries. Add some to your bowl to make it the perfect meal!

Good price, large portion for the beef/lamb bowl. Delicious. The only minor knock is the rice is not the long grain yellow version. Also may be a turn-off, given the insipid 'lifeless' colors (see my food bowl photo). Inside was quaint and and small but decorated tastefully, despite the dated tables. Nice staff.

The pita bread was also so fresh and light with the veggies. The service was great! Workers here greeted us with big smiles and continuously check on us. Server did offer to let us choose 2 different meats for our two #41 Koobideh plates (2 beef skewers for $25), but I think we would have been better off just ordering one #61 All Koobideh plate (3 different meat skewers for $34). One plate has plenty of basmati rice for two people to share. She suggested the two #41 orders, instead of answering how much an extra order of rice would cost. Maybe you can't order a side of rice? Rice comes with each entree. By ordering the 2nd plate, she offered or included the $8 Bread Basket for no extra charge. It was my friend's birthday. I wanted to pay, and she wanted to order extra to go, so I wanted two separate bills, but it seemed too complicated to explain or disallowed. After the food was delivered to the table, server didn't check on us anymore. I guess the restaurant doesn't do anything special for birthdays. My friend thought all the koobideh tasted the same. I liked them in this order: 1) Lamb, 2) Chicken, and 3) Beef, but they're the same texture, so they aren't all that different. I should have ordered a different 2nd entree, instead of two Koobideh plates. The #18 Bademjan Borani eggplant appetizer was yummy. It did come with some bread, so you don't have to order the bread basket. The bread is served warm. The basmati rice was light and fluffy, but not flavorful or buttery. You can pay a $4 upgrade to switch the rice to salad or a fancier stir fried rice. Read the Vegetarian Dishes menu section to learn about the various fried rice or polo preparations. Our server suggested the Fava Bean Rice or Baghali Polo because it is a Persian New Year dish. Yelp reviewers recommended the Zereshk Polo, which includes barberries, a fruit similar to currants. $10 to add a skewer of veggies. $4 to add a salad is mentioned under the Vegetarian Dishes menu and Seafood & Combination Plates menu. I didn't like how the sugar cubes for the Persian Tea were served. It looked communal and exposed to the elements. You could see sugar dust on the serving bowl. Other Persian restaurants serve the sugar in a smaller covered bowl. Formal dining room. Lunch specials are Monday to Friday, 11 am to 3 pm, excluding holidays. Lunch prices range from $16-$20. 3 different $8 soup offerings: chicken barley, ashe reshteh, or green lentil.

The man who greeted me didn't talk much, but it was a fast and simple pickup. When the order came out, everything was already packed up and ready to go. I peeked inside the bag before leaving and was excited to see a full chicken platter with rice, salad, hummus, and tzatziki. They also included a chicken gyro on a super soft pita with lots of chicken chunks and fresh veggies and herbs. The food was delicious even after a twenty minute drive home. The tzatziki tasted really fresh, the rice was fluffy and seasoned well, and the chicken had great flavor. There was plenty of food for me, my husband, and our four year old to share. The flip side is when they charge too much and build a gyro, for example, with tiny scraps of tomato, six fries at the most, the tiniest bit of tsatziki on the pita (a tiny plastic cup with a bit more? +50¢) AND - unless you invest an additional $3.50 for 'double meat' as I did, it's almost not worth it. The GOOD news is, that first bite of steak almost brought tears to my eyes it was so delicious, tender, perfectly cooked medium rare, and seasoned apparently by the gods. The pita was equally yummy. AND I did get $5 off my first order under their new rewards program, but I did have to spend $20 to get it. So... their miserly approach to ingredients may keep them in business BUT will I pay $17 again for a steak souvlaki pita any time soon? Probably not.

I was craving a yummy Falafel Corner Chicken Shawarma wrap and visited the Granite Bay restaurant which was closest to my location at the time. I should've known something was not right about this Falafel Corner when I was greeted by a white boy who didn't know what Chicken Shwarma was. My food was truly awful and tasted nothing like the Chicken Shawarma at the other 5 locations I've been to. This version of the wrap had hardly any meat which BYW did not taste anything like Falfel Corner Chicken Shawarma. Instead of being packed with delicious chicken and onions, this wrap had spinach filler mixed in with the chicken and everything was completely drenched in a nasty sauce that absolutely was not tahini or tzatziki. It almost tasted fishy and looked slightly pink. It was totally gross. I ate a few bites and threw that nasty sandwich in my compost. I would have asked for my money back if I was eating onsite. But unfortunately I took this nasty wrap to go and didn't know what I was in for until I got home. One thing is for sure, I will never return to this Falafel Corner location ever again.
