I was recommended by a friend to get my lashes done with Sasha and they were amazing! They are so natural and will be coming back. I love how honest she is about everything. Only thing was when I walked in there was two hair stylist cutting hair and a nail tech in the back and they just stared at me and my sister without saying anything. I said "hi" and was ignored. I stood there for about 20 mins until Sasha came to get me. Some customer service would be great or a response would have been nice. 1 star for the salon but 5 stars for Sasha. read more

I had an experience with this Keke girl who claims to be a "hair stylist and color specialist". Yeah right !!! Before we even scheduled an appt. we spoke twice on the phone and I explained what I expected from this appt. Not only did she reschedule my appt. time, she was 20mins. late the day of. My hair; medium brown long layers (layers were grown out a bit) Length to my ears was virgin hair and bottom hair had some color. Once I sat down we went over what we were gonna do, she wanted to try something called "peek-a-boo highlights" I agreed. First thing she does is cut a chunk of my hair stating "we are not gonna dye this so, Im cutting the length off." She started to apply the bleach "to lighten the color" . The way she folded her foils should have been a dead give away that she was incompetent. Huge mistake on my part for not listening to my gut instinct to get up and leave. Once we washed out the bleach, the "highllights" were rusty orange and other parts were bleach blonde. I freaked out !! I had my jacket on and ready to walk out when she told me she still had to put the toner on. Once again, I sat down. Stupid me. The toner grabbed on to my virgin hair and turned it redish with a pinkish hue and those "highlights" stayed rusty orange. I refused to let this imbecile cut my hair. I got my jacket on and asked to speak to the manager/owner, Sasha. She did nothing to rectify the situation. She said since Keke rents the chair, she's not really her boss. How ridiculous !! I paid for the color and left. Left to the East Bank Club Salon were they neutralized the hair color and was given a proper haircut. NEVER WILL I EVER VISIT SALON CHICK AGAIN !!! MY HAIR WAS RUINED !!!! read more

Appointments do not secure your seat. Many times I came on time for my manicure and had to wait at least 30 minutes, because the technician was not done with a previous costumer, or she would try to do two jobs, tinting eyebrows of one client and a doing a pedicure for a second client. They do a good job, but their appointment system is screwed. I do not how they clean their tools, but I saw a pile of them simply soaking in a sink ( Brushes used for scrubbing your feet next to brushes used for tinting your eyebrows. Disgusting!) read more

I'm not sure where to start because this place has aestheticians that each have their own services that they do and prices that they charge. In any case I was able to reach out to the person that does Novalashes here. I have been searching for someone who does specifically this brand of lashes because I love it. I have tried Extreme and Minx, but this is what I prefer because I feel like they don't stick to one another and they last longer like the glue is better. It just feels different in a good way. I have started with it and got really spoiled as a friend in Michigan was doing them and she was a NovaLash Artist of the Year in 2012. The problem has been that I just couldn't get out there all the time. Alexandra/Sasha is one of the women that does do Novalash here in Chicago here at SalonChick. I believe she has been doing lashes for the past 5 years. She is a true sweetheart. She did an excellent job and really listened to what I wanted. I got the dramatic look that I wanted. I will certainly come back to her for my in between fills when I can't get to Michigan. I have only a couple of complaints as she was 20 minutes late for the appointment and I had to stop her midway through the second eye to refill my meter for parking. She also doesn't take credit cards so I had to drive over to the Walgreens to get cash out. This was a bit of a big deal for me as I hate to pay in cash. I like being able to have a record of where I went and spent my money and I like tracking it on my statements. I'd certainly recommend her though, but plan to make extra time and bring cash or a check. read more

Sasha is a lash guru. She is so sweet and talented at what she does. I get my lashes filled by her every 4 weeks. Not only does she listen to what you want but she gets you out of there in a timely manner. She only takes cash so stop at atm ahead of time and be sure to arrive at your scheduled time of your apt to ensure she has enough time to give you the best service possible. I think maybe a tip is in order if the client is happy with it, but legally, I believe nothing is due this woman. If she is honest, I am guessing she will get more clients since she did a good job and no doubt the client would tell her friends, but I would call the cops if this woman tried to charge $300. I had my eyelashes done by numerous people before numerous times. And I have to say SASHA is the BEST!! She listened to what i wanted and she did more than words can describe with my lashes. I LOVE THEM!! And she does them very quickly...i usually lay for 2hrs for a full set. Not with Sasha. I can't even say anything about the services because my sister and I were cancelled on before we could even get our haircuts. We were cancelled on because there was "too big of a gap" in, Marta, the hairdresser's schedule. She didn't even bother to call. We found out when we called to verify the time of our appointments. We were asked to come in earlier and agreed to come in 45 minutes before our scheduled time to accommodate her and she still canceled. Horrible customer service. Worst of all, she gave me attitude over the phone and didn't even have the common courtesy to apologize for deciding to cancel and not calling us. It is with a heavy heart that I rate SalonChick at one star. I walked into the salon at 10:30 and wasn't greeted or acknowledged in anyway. Seeing that all of the ladies were busy, I sat down and waited. And waited. And waited. There were two nail technicians, one was with a client the whole time and one was not. At 10:50 I walked over to the technician that was not with a client and asked if she could fit me in for a manicure. "No" is all she said. I pointed to the other technician and asked the same question. "No" again. No offer to fit me in later, no apologies for the wait. I stated that I had been here for 20 minutes and that my nails could already be done by now. She turned and walked away. As someone who is not a local, I tried Yelping another salon, but was unable to locate one that was in walking distance and open. I am disappointed in the service and wish that they could have told me right when I walked in that they couldn't fit me in. I hope that my experience is one in a million and that this is really a great place, but as far as I'm concerned this shop is a no-go read more

I'd gotten them done a few times in the past, but was never planning to do so regularly until I met Sasha...I'd been shocked to learn that a colleague's lashes were extensions, they looked so natural, and I've been hooked ever since my first appointment! In addition to being super sweet and easy to schedule with, Sasha takes time to make sure that my lashes are perfect every single time. She does a great job working with you to find a style that works with your natural lashes and gives you the length and fullness you want without looking fake. HORRIBLE! I came across an ad on craigslist stating that a stylist named Keyua-Keke just opened a salon & she needed hair models for strand by strand extensions for her portfolio. The ad also said that the model will ONLY pay for the hair, and she would cut/style for free. I had a noon appt & at 11:50 she tells me that she's running 30-45 min late. Well I was there already so I said that I would wait it out... 2hrs later she finally started on my hair, & that after she ruined her previous clients hair. I should have left then but I figured since she wasn't cutting or coloring my hair I would be ok. WRONG! After being there for 8hrs she was finally done. The cut- BOOO! All she did was frame the face & cut a chunk off of the length. My real hair was just below the chin & my extensions were 16inches, no blending at all! The style- BOOO! All she did was spray it with water and do a quick blow dry. I'm getting ready to leave & she tells me I forgot to pay. At this point I'm puzzled & ask what am I paying for?! She said I owe her $300 for the extensions! I showed her her craigslist ad that said all I have to do is buy my own hair, which I did. We also exchanged txts about this days before my appt. She said "well that's not what I meant." What else does "ONLY pay for hair" mean??? I didn't have cash on me do I asked if she had a credit card machine that I could leave a tip on, sort of a compromise I guess. She said no so I asked her what she wanted to do about this situation. She walked me to my car & told me there was a CVS down the street & I could get the $300 from the cash station. Now I'm beyond pissed. I looked at here and told her that I responded to hair model ad & I don't think I should have to pay...awkward silence... I said I wasn't paying & I left. 30min later she sends me 3 txts saying that she's waiting for me to come back with the $300 and that the owner said to call the police. Her ad said that she was the owner!?! I didn't respond. I've had my extensions for 3 days & 3 pieces have already fallen out. Keke was horrible!
