I came in to get a procedure done today and everyone there was very friendly and helpful. When we spoke about the procedure they found out a second part was not scheduled and they fixed that quickly. It was definitely more money, but what I needed was done. I will say that this being my first experience, it went better than expected. I received a text promoting Botox at $7 per unit, so I called to inquire. Unfortunately, the promotion was misleading--the $7/unit price only applies if you purchase 300 units upfront, which totals $2,100. This wasn't made clear in the initial text. When I expressed that spending that much wasn't feasible for me at the moment and joked that my husband wouldn't be thrilled, the woman on the phone responded with, "Then you need a new husband." She then proceeded to ask whether my husband even "allows" me to get my nails done. That kind of invasive and inappropriate comment is incredibly unprofessional. When I explained that I typically get Botox 1-2 times a year because that's what works for me, she told me that coming that infrequently "isn't worth it at all" and insisted I should be coming every 3-4 months. Everyone's body, budget, and priorities are different. No one should be shamed or pressured for choosing what works best for them. This was an unpleasant experience, and I truly don't believe someone with that attitude should be the face of your business. I will never refer Laser Away to anyone! read more

I purchased a Brazilian laser and facial treatment package for my underage daughter through a LaserAway representative over the phone. We paid in full and signed all paperwork online. As part of a promotion, underarm laser was included for free. At no point during the sales call or the nurse consultation were we informed that Brazilian laser services are restricted to clients 18 and older. This critical information was only disclosed after we had paid, signed all forms, and arrived at the appointment. We were then rushed through a video call with a nurse and finally informed--by someone in the office--that my daughter could not receive the Brazilian laser until she turns 18. We were pressured to make a quick decision with the statement, "You need to make a decision because we have other clients after you." Ultimately, my daughter only received the underarm and facial treatments. When I requested a refund for the Brazilian portion of the package, LaserAway refused, stating that since the package had been "opened"--meaning my daughter had received the free underarm treatment--we were no longer eligible for a refund. This was particularly frustrating because the only service rendered was a promotional freebie, not something we paid for. LaserAway's refund policy states that all sales are final, and free services have no refund value. However, this policy does not account for situations where services are undeliverable due to undisclosed eligibility restrictions. The lack of transparency, pressure to make on-the-spot decisions, and refusal to take accountability for their internal miscommunication has been incredibly disappointing. We expected more professionalism and empathy from a company of this size. I would not recommend purchasing anything upfront from LaserAway without getting every policy in writing first. I tried cool sculpting I had one application was not thrilled with the little difference it made they had me scheduled for a second appointment and they charged me for the second appointment even after I canceled the appointment and I was willing to pay for the first one because I did do it, but I do not want to pay for a second one that I didn't go to when I call there. Short version: If you are considering LaserAway for hair removal I would urge you to reconsider. Go search on Reddit, ask around, they are absolutely bad news bears. You'll see a copypasted comment under this, probably, saying they're reaching out to make sure I'm happy. Eventually a guy at corporate did reach out, apparently just to make sure I knew I wouldn't be getting a penny back. If you have an issue, the same guy will call you, and you can look him up to see there are MANY stories exactly like mine. This is LaserAway's entire MO. Full version: underwent ten sessions for hair removal, lower face and neck. They wanted me to buy them all at once; it was okay because they had financing, which turned out to be a high interest credit card that only works at LaserAway. it was high pressure but I'm kind of a doormat sometimes, and if it works it works, right? After the first few appointments, and thereafter, I reported that I wasn't seeing any effect in my lower face or neck. I was told that it can be hard to see it happen, or that I'd need to wait a few weeks to see it, or suggested I wasn't correctly following pre or post care (I was). At the end of it all, the following September, after 10 sessions, I was shaving off full beard growth to go to my last appointments, all dark brunette hairs that should have been easy prey for a laser technician. I did wait to see if anything might happen, as they directed, but gave up in January. Still the full beard, no magic post-treatment result. I don't think I need to tell any transfems reading this just how that felt, and still feels. (Just a note; I timed beginning my hair removal to coincide with other treatments, and am now getting laser and electrolysis done at a different provider to make up for lost time. Two sessions at the new place and I already have profound results.) I contacted the office and spoke to the director. Worried that I would get a runaround I took notes during the call, but he wouldn't give his last name. He repeated that "services were provided" and thus no refund would be issued. Before I conclude this, I want to be clear that at no point did I raise my voice or threaten anyone, although I did advise that I would take legal steps if I had to. I say this because upon asking his name, his tone changed dramatically, and now I'm worried he will suggest I was aggressive or otherwise unreasonable to discredit me. I feel extremely taken advantage of, and I'm not alone. Don't fall for it. Go somewhere credible. Again: I strongly suggest you consider a different provider before using LaserAway. read more

I bought a package for my birthday several years ago. Your package never expires. I believe it was for 8 full body visits. Of the eight visits , three different times I have been inconvenienced due to the businesses inability to follow basic directions. 1.) I called to confirm that a temporary medication I was on would not affect treatment and I would have happily rescheduled. The person put me on hold. Confirmed that it wouldn't interfere..... I go to the Waubansia location and they said I can't be serviced due to the medication. It took me 45 minutes one way to get there due to the crummy Chicago traffic 2.) separate visit I sat in the servicing room for an hour to be told by the nurse in training that they forgot I was here. 3.) i have had awesome service from the nurses and I wanted to be serviced again by Cassie. I called to make the appointment and they said she would service me. I get to my appointment early. I put the numbing cream on. Sat for 35 minutes and a different nurse walks in to tell me that Cassie is here but she won't be servicing me. Cassie isn't afraid to use the stronger laser setting and has a gentle technique hence why I prefer her servicing me. I told the nurse that I don't want to be serviced. Solely because I've NEVER seen her there before. I'm sure she is good but I was there specifically to be seen by the nurse that I preferred and trust. I left. Told them to keep my last appointment and that I would not be returning. I explained how I was inconvenienced and the girl looked at me without eye contact or as much as a sorry. My last appointment isn't worth the drive , the frustration of making another appointment, only to make another potentially inconveniencing visitor. For further preface , in bad traffic it has taken me up to an hour to get to this facility. At the time this was the most affordable package and the reviews for the brand name Laser Away were very good from other cities. I give this location a 1 star due to inconveniencing my schedule and giving me zero ways of them rectifying the situation. I recommend the nurses and not the facility. read more

I was given a quote in writing for a Brazilian at $1,500 plus one free small area. The next consultant I spoke with told me there was no way for them to honor it, I sent her the message of the quote I received and she said she would pass it on to her manager. It's now been over a month and I have yet to hear from anyone in management to explain why I was quoted this price, and what they can do to make it right. They have totally swept it under the rug hoping I would just disappear. I am extremely disappointed. I can't speak for their service, but I can tell you their costumer service has been terrible. They take their time to answer questions and to make you comfortable during the process. I have been going there for about a year now, I've done my chin cheek arm pits and Brazilian. Only downside is you get a new provider each time you go. It would be nice to stick with someone you get comfortable with. Also there is a lack of diversity in the staff. I had a phone consultation where I had to send them selfies of my neck area during the call and they went over the procedure. It was recommended that I have 2-3 sessions at around $2,000. While the results look great and they were very informative over the phone, I decided to wait because of the price but that just means I'll need to save some $ then I can revisit the procedure again. Hasn't been a great experience. Booked a laser package that was 8 sessions and did them all pretty much at the Bucktown location because they had the most openings. On session 6 the nurse informed me that why I wasn't getting results was because no one had been increasing the treatment level of the laser which was frustrating since I'd now wasted multiple hours for laser that wasn't working. They did give me 3 free sessions and my results were okay enough that I added a few sessions for up keep. I booked an appointment for earlier this week for 1pm, 30 min before my appointment they told me they were running 15 min behind and could I come in at 1:15/1:20. I was already in the area so I killed some time and arrived at 1:20. At 1:55 I finally asked what time my appointment would actually happen and they informed me there was still a patient ahead of me that hadn't started yet. I had to leave and reschedule at that point since they were going to be close to 90 min behind. I rescheduled for today and got a message this morning my appointment was canceled and I need to reschedule again. I'm going to switch locations and hope for better service. read more

As an Afo-Latina women , I had gotten a lot of dark spots on my face and because of age I had some hair on my chin that I just didn't want any . I went in for lip injections. First of all, these people are so on top of things, as soon as I sent in a request for information, I got a call immediately . I was connected to someone who gave me all the information I wanted help me book my appointment for the next day . I got there a little early but they accommodated me right away, I feel like I was in and out quickly which was really nice, there was like no waiting around. But it was still not so quick that I felt shuffled at all. I have never had a needle near my face in my life, and the gorgeous front desk girl, Shanon, and a man in the lobby who's name I didn't catch, were both so nice and made me feel so comfortable immediately upon arrival. Shanon in particular made my experience so easy and wonderful, I can't say enough nice things about her specifically , and also about this place in general. She was super knowledgeable, super friendly, and she gave me a whole tour of the place and she even gave me some insight on her own personal experiences. She made me feel so comfortable about my procedure knowing that it was my first time and I was a little nervous. The procedure itself was smooth as could be- The pain was next to nothing, and the nurse who did my injections was the other star of my experience- Nurse Natalie. She was so much fun, and so funny and so nice- she really made me feel comfortable while informing me about the risks and the procedure and all the aftercare. My only concern when I made this appointment was that lip injections wouldn't look good on my face, but I realize now that when the nurse is so good at what she does, she will know how to make the injections so that they come out making you look beautiful. That is nurse Natalie! I will send everyone there, and I advise reading this review to book your appointment because it's worth it. Also a big note on anyone looking for lip injections in particular- LaserAway is the only place I found where you can buy an entire syringe of product, and if you don't use it all in your appointment, they will save it for you to use in a few weeks. You can come back and use the rest of your filler that you paid for, so there is no waste of money and no pressure to use all the the product that was paid for. I think this is brilliant because then the nurse can use as much or as little product as necessary to make you look good without the patient feeling like their money is being wasted if they don't use all of the filler at once. Today was an even better experience than normal (did not know that would be possible). After being welcomed and greeted by Sam and Linda I had Nurse Natalie do my treatment. I am getting married in Mexico in 3 weeks and have been nervous about my sun exposure and spray tans in regards to effecting my laser treatment. Natalie explained everything I had to do to keep safely getting laser and explained many things I previously misunderstood about laser in general. When I have shown the confirmation I got from them, no apologies followed, "that's just a glitch of the system". And then the nurse asked me to move from one room to another barefoot, without slippers. That was the moment I had to cancel and go out of Laseraway's door. Came here for a laser tattoo removal on an area I had already done one session before by another place years ago. There was barely any ink left, but figured I should finally remove it completely. I ended up being burned very badly and now I am praying my skin heals properly. I am an olive skin tone and the woman who did my laser removal was also a woman of color, so it was shocking she did not know what wavelength to use on me. She also went over areas of my skin that had NO ink. Very, very sad to have had this experience and hope that no one else will. Please do not use this place. 10 years ago I got laser hair treatment for my upper lip at Ideal Image. I decided to redo this area since I had growth again and do my chin for the first time (I have dark hair and pale skin so I typically do well with laser). Few things happened at LaserAway that I never experienced at Ideal Image. 1. They messed up my appointments multiple times. I was told a certain time via email and then a different time when I arrived in person. They said it was an error with their calendar system. Other times I would arrive on time and they would have me waiting for 20 minutes or more (even though my service takes 5 minutes). 2. They promised me a free Fire and Ice Facial for inconveniencing me all the times the appointments were messed up. They never followed through with this promise. 3. I was only supposed to have 6 treatments for my upper lip and 10 treatments for my chin. They did a 7th one on my upper lip and after I corrected them they said oops, guess it's a freebie. I think it's scary to think that they are not on top of things like this. Why should I be reminding them? 4. Due to covid, they stopped the use of their bathrooms which is fine except when I first started going there (beginning of covid) I would use the bathroom to wash the makeup or sweat off my face (they ask you to do this before a treatment). So then when they abruptly stopped it I was annoyed because I was coming from work and couldn't wash my face. Then the nurse would be upset about not washing or shaving the areas ahead of time. 5. The corner parts of my upper lip and right below my nose still have hair. At this point I feel like I didn't need to do a touch up on my lip - wasn't worth the $300. Despite all of this, I do appreciate that my chin hair has reduced significantly. Will I return? Probably not. Were the receptionists nice in person - yes. Was someone always there to greet you? No (receptionists would be in the back or chatting in the hallway at times). The company just needs to revisit it's structures in place! read more

I had Stephanie and she couldn't of been more attentive, checking in if I was ok, giving me ice if needed, and used techniques to distract me from the pain. The girl i talked to, Hayley, definitely made me feel rushed in to sign up for everything that day, but also my fault. The price quoted from laser away is far more expensive than the other places in the Chicagoland area (found out later). I had my first session there today. Everyone was super nice, polite. My Nurse practitioner that did my lasering was thorough, told me what to expect (pain, aftercare, etc) and talked me thru the whole process. I have a semi low tolerance for pain, but it wasn't that bad at all. My only complaint would be that the music was wayyyy too loud. It was hard to hear what she was saying to me. read more

Purchased the Clear & Brilliance prior to the Covid-Shutdown. Just finished my second treatment with RN, Melissa. Which of whom took the overall experience to the next level. The treatment itself promotes skin turnover to bring a radiant glow to the surface. Your face will be red afterwards best resembles a slight facial sunburn. Make sure you do not have an event planned for at least 2 week depending on the sensitivity of your skin. With only 2 treatments it's hard to tell if the effects are long-term. However, I plan on purchasing another package to give it a course of a year. read more
