Dan is a great stylist! He has a great personality and really listens to what you want. He doesn't try to up-sell you with products either! He executes amazingly and is so much fun to talk to. He gives the most amazing scalp massages while shampooing your hair. The shampoo stations are also heated so you don't rest your neck on freezing cold ceramic...such a great invention! He is also reasonably priced. I am originally from Los Angeles and relocated to the midwest for grad school...and let me tell you the price for a cut here is amazing! Dan also cuts my boyfriends hair, so he is an excellent stylist for men and women! I will definitely be coming back to Dan!!! read more

Basic service and quality. Hair dressers at various levels and some inconsistency with results.

My haircut was too short and the left side is shorter than the right side. It is quite simply awful. The only good thing is I am good with hair and can make it look better than it is, and is something I can live with. read more

I showed my stylist 3 different examples of what I wanted and specifically said "I do not want my hair above my shoulders" I got a Bob! Argh!!!! That is not what I wanted, I called and tactfully complained. The receptionist was nice and said she will tell her manager and will be calling me back. I heard nothing, no consideration. This was the 4th bad haircut from 2 different stylist. I'm done, no more. read more

Always a friendly atmosphere and very relaxing! Everyone seems to get along well! Alicia is always able to create my haircut.

I've been to a couple of different hair stylists here and both did an amazing job on my and my daughter's hair. Both of us received hair cuts and highlights. A bit pricey, but that is everywhere you go nowadays. To all the ladies out there...it pays to have a bestie or family member who does hair, just saying. read more

I had my hair done by Lindsey on Saturday - cut, color, and highlights. Lindsey did a great job and I had a good experience. When I was done I bought some product, too, so my total was fairly significant. Afterwards, I was out to lunch with my daughter when I received a call from the salon and the girl said "I'm making a courtesy call on behalf of your stylist. It seems the person who checked you out undercharged you. She forgot to charge you for the cost of the actual haircut. We realize this is our error and we're not saying you have to do anything about this but, as a courtesy to the stylist, I wanted to let you know this will affect her income." I ended up paying the difference but am giving this salon a lower review because I think this is HORRIBLE customer service. You know the error was yours, and yet you call me and guilt me into correcting it for you. And it's not like they didn't get their money's worth out of me and easily made up the difference with the amount of product I bought. Shame on you, Salon Aura, for your level of customer service! read more

Pretentious and thoughtless. I tried three separate times to have a good time at Aura and in the course of those three visits I received average service, a lot of unhappy employees (very little smiling), and at one point I was ignored at the cash register so the employee could finish talking to her friend on the phone about their weekend plans. When you are asked to pay Chicago prices in Appleton, WI you should at the very least be taken care of when you are looking to buy products. Aura is a let down. read more

I had skipped a men's haircut with Covid for about 2 months. My wife had a gift card so I dropped in for a haircut with "an experienced hair dresser," so I was told. The haircut was well below average, and my wife had to fix the back up when I came home because it wasn't cut. The hairline was completely forgotten. It's really hard to get away for a leisurely trim, so I called the store, spoke with the desk manager, and had hoped to at least re-credit the cut. I never heard back from anyone. I'm sure there are plenty of happy customers, but for the money - and cut - males are best elsewhere. read more

Ok so I have been here on two separate occasions. My first experience was with Kate a makeup artist in march about a week prior to my wedding to have practice makeup done, Kate was great, very personable and did a good job on my makeup, I enjoyed that and was happy with the outcome of my makeup, what I was not happy with was that I was charged $50.00 for practice makeup when the contract I was sent that I signed and returned clearly stated that it was 40$ so after tip I paid 60$ for practice makeup and then would have to pay another 50 upon returning for actual bridal makeup on March 16th which with tip comes out to like 120 just for makeup. But I guess this didn't really bother me until after the fact. So now on to my actual experience on why I'm only giving the salon one star and I would consider myself to be pretty forgiving, but I guess when it comes to my wedding day I felt I deserved better. Ok so overall feeling about the salon is that the ambiance is nice and it looks upscale and trendy, which I have become accustomed to from living in san diego, very city shall we say. Prices I guess are reasonable for the area and I received pretty average customer service from front desk and other stylists. So me and my bridesmaids ( there was 4 of them with me ) came to salon aura on march 16th to have hair and makeup done, it was at a cost of 90$ per bridesmaid for an up-do and natural makeup, and I was pretty pleased with how everyone looked, very elegant and natural and in a time effective manner. Now for my hair and makeup. I was happy with my makeup again this review is not a reflection on Kate, she was great and did a good job. This review is for the hair service I received and the amount I had to pay for it, I came in that morning and didn't have a scheduled hair appt., I was just having a bit of a hair malfunction, I had done my own hair prior to arriving at salon aura, I was wearing it down, and curly, I had asked if one of there stylists had time to just fix some of the curls and make it look fresh again. They were happy to accommodate, However, The girl doing my hair was nice, but she maybe fixed 7-10 curls in the back of my hair and put a hair clip in, took maybe 20 minutes, tops....... she pretty much did nothing. after that I went to get my makeup done, which turned out great, but now for the worst part, I went to the counter to pay and I owed 110.00$! for what I just cannot tell you, because according to my contract bridal makeup is 40$ for practice and 40$ the day of. and bridal hair is 60$ but as far as im concerned I had no such thing done. Since the stylist essentially did nothing for me after my salon visit, I had one of my friends who's a stylist meet me at the chapel and she had to fix my hair. This was so disappointing it brought me to tears on my wedding day......and I am still left confused about what I paid a total of 160+ dollars for??????? I hope this review is helpful. I am moving back to WI shortly but will not be returning to salon aura. read more

Brazilian by Kelly amazing job. Brazilian's are never fun, but when you find a good one it's worth it. Abby love my toes too!!!

Katherine Schuster is one of the most amazing stylists I have ever had. I have worked in an Aveda salon previously and have never met a stylist who knows exactly what I want and delivers it above my expectations. She was a life saver after my hair was butchered by a new talent artist and eased me into the transition of having a pixie cut. My second appointment with her was aimed at color and she gave me exactly what I wanted and read my mind about how I wanted my hair cut. Shes allowed for me to feel confident in who I am on the inside with the work she has done on the outside!!! The salon is clean and very welcoming :) read more

kim is my favorite thing in the whole world!! this salon is beautiful and aveda.... ahhhhhhh home sweet sweet home! i came all the way from colorado because i missed this girl so much. she was taught only by the second coolest person on this earth (herself being the first) seriously sit in her chair and let her tell you what you want. read more

Love the environment. Very welcoming and has great service. I bet my hair and eyebrows done there and am always pleased with the results.

Maddie is super friendly and did an awesome job on my haircut. Even gave me a lesson on curling my hair since I don't have much beauty experience :) definitely recommend! Given that this is an Aveda salon, prices are SUPER reasonable. read more

I got a same day appointment for a haircut with Victoria Andrews. I had been growing out a fairly short cut for over a year and needed it shaped and styled. She understood just what I wanted and gave me a great shoulder length bob and styled it nicely. Excellent customer service at the front desk too. read more

I went to Salon Aura for product last week and to my surprise it was Customer Appreciation Day. That is so great they do that. It was my first time there and I had a young lady help me out that afternoon and she was more than helpful. I always get the same products. She helped me with new products that will be more beneficial for my hair type. I had great customer service and I got to save money WIN-WIN. Plus I love the products she recommended to me. I can see a big difference. Thank you Shannon for all your help. I just might be going back not just for products but to get my hair done, also with her recommendations. read more

My hair has never been so happy! (and neither has my husband) Kayla Enneper is the best stylist in the building Hands Down! I have trusted my hair to her for 5 years and have never been disappointed. Great products. Excellent service. And don't ask me about price.... Really ... For a woman to be HAPPY with her hair? Yea... I have tried saving money with hair products and styles. Won't make that same mistake twice. read more

I got my hair colored by Amanda, showed her a picture of what I wanted, and when I left it looked just like when I came in. Biggest waste of money in my life. Don't go there for an ombre. read more

I had two sad experience with this salon. 1) they let me go out with hair still wet close to the roots 2) the first time a considerable amount of money but was because I bought two products, Second time, exactly same amount of money but I didn't bought any product and I did the same of first time.... That was weird to me. Patti read more

Had my hair cut by the manager, Doug, in the Appleton West location. The cut was not good. Sides were uneven and the cut was quite unflattering for my face shape. You would think that someone with many years experience could recommend a more flattering style and have the ability to execute the cut properly. read more
