I've gotten my hair cut here 2 times now. The first time I'd say I was more satisfied with my cut. I have curly hair so it's a bit more challenging to cut. Although the first time, the girl had to call someone else over to show her how to do it (around 65, if I remember correctly). So I tried their top tier artist (90$) and she made my hair much shorter than I wanted. I don't feel like she has the experience with curly hair. It's obvious they don't have a curly hair specialist here. It's a great place for a basic cut on straight hair. They give great massages included with your cut and the ambience is nice. read more

I looked in the mirror last night, glanced at the mop in my laundry room, and suddenly realized we were practically twins. The resemblance between my hair and that poor, overworked mop was just too much. So, in a moment of sheer desperation, I impulsively booked an appointment at Dame Salon this morning--and they actually fit me in at noon! I would post a picture, but I don't want to get flagged for inappropriate content because my hair was *that* bad. I've been here for four years and hadn't found a salon where I felt completely comfortable... until today. Let me tell you, my search is officially over! From the moment I booked to the big reveal, everything was perfect. Alyson worked her magic, and honestly, I barely recognized myself--I looked **so** dang good. I rode home on my scooter, blasting "I'm Feeling Myself" by Nicki Minaj because, frankly, that's just how fabulous I felt. If you're thinking about Dame Salon, stop thinking and just go. The staff is kind, professional, and super attentive. Alyson was amazing--she made sure every edge was crisp, and I was fresh as ever. A lot of salons seem to put less care into men's cuts, but not Alyson. She nailed it, and I can't wait to go back for my next cut! read more

I have been a customer here for about 5 years. This morning 8/6/22 I had an appointment but my stylist did not show up for work so they had to turn me away. The receptionist did reschedule me but did not offer anything else to compensate for the inconvenience. I have reached out to them via the contact form in their website so I will see if they reach out to me. This is very disappointing. I have always had a good experience here but not today. If I don't hear anything by early next week I will not be coming back. They did reach out to me today 8/8 and did offer an complimentary treatment with my next service. Well I just got home from one of the best nail experience's I've ever had. I booked a manicure with my mother to try Dame since I have never been. Maria was my nail tech and she was a 10/10! One of the nicest ladies I've ever spoken with and did an outstanding job on my nails. I've had bad nail experiences in the past and have been hesitant to try a new place but Maria made it wonderful. If anyone is looking to try a new place, Dame is my top recommendation. Thank you Maria!! read more

Shame on you Dame. A community needs a community salon hard working women can afford. Unfortunately, I have had too many situations that have left me upset and in tears over the last three years and I'm imploring smart individuals to choose otherwise. This is the first negative review I've ever written for any service in my 40 years. In summary: 1) if they cancel your appointment due to changes in their scheduling, they do not offer a makeup-appointment. Even if you made that appointments 8 weeks in advance, meaning they'll offer you an appointment after 4-5 months of your initial booking. When you book that far out, they do not give you a choice in time or date, which is tough for working women. They want to make money, so they do not allow stylists any room in their schedules. If they did, they'd have "next available appointments" within 1-3 weeks. 2) They charge by the ounce. Do you have long hair? Expect them to tell you "oh we have to go mix more color" twice during your session and you are then charged triple what you expected, it is not run by you in advance. I have gone to top salons in MKE and Madison and they never did that. They accounted for it in initial pricing. They also made up for it when someone had shorter hair and they saved color on those clients. 3) They overcharge for basic services that take 20-30 minutes. This includes taking extensions out, washing your hair, conditioning treatments, toning because they don't have the right tones in the initial color offerings. In one instance, they charged me for styling, which consisted of spraying my hair with dry shampoo only! $100 for 20 minutes of taking out extensions and spraying dry shampoo. It is not the stylists fault at all, they're great. They are forced to follow the rules of the management. The color, the cut or trim (even if they are just dusting the ends), extensions, conditioning and styling are triple what I have paid for in large cities. When they make a mistake, they will not comp anything. I am unsure how those who are working class, underrepresented, and on a budget can afford their prices and I am unable to any longer. I tried to convince myself the money was going to hard working women; but they aren't getting a large cut of that money. Dame is taking it. This isn't one experience; this is someone who finally chose to speak up after years that were unfair and to a business who is pricing average women out of a decent hair color 4 times a year. I was also told, "oh, I'm sorry you don't like the price. We would have charged you more if we would have washed your hair, the cost would have been more." Who states that? Shame on you, Dame. A community needs a community salon, for the people. Process improvement might be a good next step. And then start giving back to the women who work hard in DePere and beyond. read more

I went to Dame Salon for a gel pedicure. I was happy with my pedicure, however, there was nothing special about it versus other pedicures I have gotten in the past (other than the high cost of the service.) I have an upcoming surgery and called Dame to schedule a time to have the gel polish taken off since they provided the original service. I was happy to pay to have the gel removed, but I was told that was not an option. To have the old gel removed, I would need to pay for a whole new pedicure. I explained to the Dame worker that I can't have nail polish on for the surgery, which is why I am having the gel polish removed. Unfortunately she did not care and said the only way they would remove it would be if I pay for the whole pedicure. She said I can always just take the new polish off later. I was shocked by this response and told the worker I would no longer be patronizing this business. read more
