I found Nina here on Yelp and I'm so happy I spent the time going through all the local hair salons and reviews to find her!! I'm very picky about who I let color my hair because it's very porous and fine and I'm happy to say I'll be returning whenever I'm in town!! Nina did an amazing job and sat there and listened to all my hair stories to find out just exactly what I like. My hair came out great, just how I asked, and even offered for her to lighten it up if it turns out to be too dark or anything! I'm so glad I found this place! Nina is great! I wanted to get bright red highlights in my dark curly hair and she walked me through what she thought would work (I've never gotten highlights before). I was really happy that she was able to do a fun, playful look that still looks professional. Nina is a one woman show so I got completely personalized attention. The salon itself is a single suite in a really cute enclosed sort of promenade shop type set up. It's very clean and gives you a much more personal experience than I've found in other salons. She listens to what I ask of her (no matter how crazy, no matter how many colors at once, no matter how short I want it). It's hard to find that out there. Nina was absolutely super! This is a very cool concept that I encountered out in Ohio: this isn't a typical "salon." Each stylist rents their own little mini salon and does it up as s/he sees fit. You end up paying less because there is no overhead. The service is even better because it is very personal. I came early and watched Nina do a super blow out: the gal ended up with these gorgeous waves. She has a nice flair that gave my semi-long bob tons of body and pizzazz. Love, love, love Nina. I have my hair colored there every month. I have never seen anyone so thorough at coloring before. Usually you get someone that parts your hair in eight to ten sections. She literally goes through your whole scalp. The color is amazing and it stays without a glaze for 4 weeks (I'm in my mid fifties and need it more frequent than the youth). Fantastic. She went above and beyond to schedule an appointment that fit in my schedule. She took the time to learn detail about my color and hair history to make sure the coloring was done perfectly. I got a balayage with a base root color, a trim and a blow out. Everything came out awesome. The color she chose for my roots was perfect and faded beautifully with the balayage. Nina has consistently been the best stylist I have ever had. She is patient, detail oriented, kind, and extremely talented. I have naturally very dark brown hair with a lot of greys. I have gone to numerous salons trying to get highlights. They either didn't take, or the other stylists said this wasn't possible with my dark hair. Nina has taken my dark hair and transformed it with sunkissed blonde highlights. I absolutely love it and happily travel 45 minutes to her salon. I highly recommend Salon Silk!
