Sara, if your business can be ruined by a couple of posts by ONE person voicing their opinion then it must be hanging on by a thread. I went back more than once because I had never been there before and gave the hairstylists the benefit of the doubt, hoping that it might just take a few times to build a rapport about what I was looking for. The girl I went to for YEARS wasn't the first one I went to at her salon. The usual girl moved to Florida, so I chose to go to the Salon OWNER to see how she was, and she nailed it in one! And even then I hated the way she would blow out my hair. I would come home fix it myself, and love it to the point where I wanted to call her and thank her for such an awesome cut! After a while I didn't even have to tell her what to do. She took me from extremely long to super short and back again. Fun highlights, the most up to date styles AND eventually started blowing my hair out like a rock star! As for the last stylist I had Girasole, she was as nice as can be...even gave me a nice head massage, AS SHE WAS WASHING MY HAIR. I know sometimes a stylist will wash and style because of staffing or time restraints. Maybe she's a trainee? Either way she's not listed on your website at all. It took an HOUR to cut my hair which was a completely rudimentary long layers style. I even brought a dumbed down picture of the cut I wanted, figuring at the least I'd get a decent trim. Her hands were shaking as she was cutting, the poor girl. (Ironically she blew it out very nicely) Yelp has never taken down a post from me. It was your salon that did. I never mentioned the names of who cut my hair because I was trying to be polite. As the owner I didn't feel I needed to extend that courtesy to you or your salon. Same reason why I posted under a nickname my mom gave me. "Show myself?" Who are you, the Wizard of Oz? I'm not sure where you get the idea that I'm running all over town, trash talking every place I've ever stepped over the threshold. You and my dentist. As for my dentist, The OWNER called me, invited me in to discuss why I was so disappointed and took the time to explain each aspect I mentioned, and now comes in to check on me at each visit. The dentist herself has also taken the time to make sure she optimizes the time needed, and not rush thru the procedures. Problem solved! When I am done with all the work, I will repost how awesome they were about the whole situation. And they will have a very well earned $14,000. I shall now click my heels together and wish myself away from the very angry salon owner behind the curtain. Grow up lady and just take it on the chin. I'm only one person...I doubt I put a huge dent in the floor traffic of your very disappointing salon. read more

Today was my post-COVID closure appointment. It was of course fantastic. Danielle was not coming back in for awhile so I was set up with Rita for color. Let me just say she is fantastic. Listened to what I wanted and 100% delivered! I only do color today and didn't blow dry there but when I go home I air dried and was so happy as all the beautiful refreshed tones showed up! FINALLY was able to get my hair cut and colored after quarantine 2020. Thank god for Lisa at Girasole. She got me in quickly and did an amazing job as always!! Lisa has been cutting and coloring my hair for the last 4 years and I am never disappointed! The salon has all required guidelines in order; limited customers and staff, infection prevention is in place and the salon was sparkling clean as per usual. Nice salon in Babylon Village. I came here yesterday for a blow out by Lisa for my engagement shoot. In about 50 minutes, I was shampooed and blown out to perfection with some nice wave action at the ends of my hair (which is quite long). Cost was $30, I think that's the going rate, but I've only had solely a blow out done once before without getting a haircut first. Everyone at the salon was friendly, and Lisa was very nice. I would go again. Only thing that wasn't offered to me was a drink (ie. coffee, water, tea) that's generally offered when I patron other salons. And also incredibly kind and sweet. I have very long blonde highlighted hair and only trust her to do it. The staff is friendly and during covid they have always taken such great measures to ensure the clients are safe with safety plastic guards up on each station and checking temperatures and seating people further apart and not filling the place for everyones safety. We usually have an excellent experience at Girasole, but unfortunately today was not that in the slightest. My girlfriend went there today extremely excited to get a color and cut, but left feeling belittled and defeated. The hair stylist was very rude and stand-offish and told my girlfriend that she was unable to get the haircut she wanted because of "poor maintenance." This is completely untrue as my girlfriend usually goes the same amount of time to get her bangs cut. Her bangs were cut unevenly and way too short for what she asked for. She had done a great job when I had my trial done a few weeks prior so, but I decided a few days before the wedding I wanted a completely different hairstyle. NO PROBLEM. My wife was running 5 mins late for her appointment and was asked to reschedule. I thought there would be a buffer period for customers ( things do come up ). As well if the stylist were running a few mins over with a different customer I'm sure the next waiting customer would NOT MIND WAITING. I understand a business being professional and wanting to start clients exactly on time BUT are we not without a conscious and understanding that your very customers run into very real road bumps like traffic and or kids. If this is the way they want to treat all their customers going forward I suggest you either make sure you're exactly on time every time or just don't waste your time going in as you'll be asked to come back another time. I had previously given this salon a full 5 stars, that was until my mind was changed on December 22nd 2020. I had an appointment with Val, who I always go to for my hair. I have always had a great experience with her and she always does an amazing job on my hair. December 22nd was my 3rd or 4th visit to Girasole. During every visit, Val would usually just trim an inch or 2 off my hair to get rid of the dead ends with no issues. Well this visit, she charged me for a full haircut, didn't even tell me she was charging me for it, and then when it came time for me to pay, she was nowhere to be found so I could ask her about it. I was charged an extra $30 to trim 2 inches off my hair! Which by the way, she has NEVER charged me for before. I think $30 for a haircut is a little bit ridiculous if you ask me. I emailed the salon the day after my visit there and have yet to hear anything back. Not happy at all with this experience and kind of upset because I loved my hair everytime after leaving Val. read more

I'm so happy to see them thriving because they have so many talented stylists and they treat their customers very well!! It's always a relaxing experience for me when I'm there as I know I'm in good hands. I highly recommend Danielle for color. I had dirty blonde hair to light brown and I wanted to go very blonde. She recommended a bayalage as opposed to full highlight because she wanted me to have a softer look. While it was more money then I wanted to spend, it was worth every penny. I went here for the first time. Everyone was friendly and I didn't have to wait long. I got color and a haircut because they advertise here 20% off color and cut for first time clients. I was happy with my color and haircut but when I went to pay receptionist didn't want to honor the 20% and had to ask the owner. She said it's only on one or the other. I had to point out it stated "and" not "or". She said ok but they only gave me 5% off each and a lame story how they got that amount. I thought that was such a poor way to treat a new client for a few dollars. I would go back but because of that they turned me off...owner is too greedy. So don't expect to receive the 20% they advertise here. Your reply is absolutely untrue and I did not receive the 20%. I would never post it if it was. Just letting yelp viewers know you don't honor the 20% here. I think it's best you don't reply untrue information again only makes you and your business look bad. read more

I love this salon! I followed my stylist Kelly May from another salon there years ago and I couldn't be happier. At 52 years old I have been in a lot of salons and i can clearly say this is the best. The services are amazing i have gone from long hair to short ~ I have gone from black to blonde and back and i have also had tape in extensions done. I have been thrilled with everything. The other thing is every single one of the people working there are happy and excited about what they do.
