I saw Dolores for a Burnett balayage. I asked for reddish brown balayage. The end result didn't come out as I pictured it would , it came out better . I asked her to give me a haircut too and she was kind enough to do that even though I didn't have the appointment for the haircut and On top of that I showed up 25 mins late for my appointment due to an emergency. she was very accommodating and sweet and very talented. What a great experience! I went in for a cut, balayage, conditioning treatment and glaze. I was not disappointed! I brought in a ton of inspiration photos and Dolores was very honest in her feedback in what could or couldn't be accomplished in the time and with the package I had purchased. She is a great listener; described what she could make happen and set really clear expectations. I felt really confident in her direction and vision and trusted her to execute it. I originally found this salon through ClassPass and was going to Andrea for unlimited blowouts, who is an incredible stylist and I couldn't recommend her enough. One of the stylists, Skyler who I had one issue with prior about pricing, called 2 hours before to my appointment saying they are no longer taking ClassPass and wouldn't honor my remaining month. I asked the cost if I came in today for a blowout and for the unlimited. She put me on hold for 4 minutes and came back to tell me $40 for regular and $55 to add hot iron, I reconfirmed so if I come in today and don't get the hot iron add on it will be $40? Yes. The girl who washes hair checked me out and told me the total was $56. When I asked how she said it was $55 + $1 for credit card fee. I said I didn't get hot iron and I was told $40. We called Skyler over and they look at each other and say "oh wait did the price increase" and started giggling. How the price increased from 2 hours ago is beyond me, she looks at me and says it's $45. I said fine now your saying it's $5 more however she was trying to charge me $55. The other girl looks at me and goes I never said $55. It's one thing to make a mistake on price, it's another lie through her teeth about it. However, I paid the $45 and left. It's truly disappointing that there is no pricing integrity here when I've been a loyal client and generous with tips. Looking forward to see how the owner spins this on her comment back to me, however, I told Andrea once she's leaves this shady place, I am happy to follow her. read more

Dolores has been my stylist for the last 14 years!!! I found her by chance and it was one of the best things that ever happened to me. Since finding her I have gone to no one else for my hair needs. She is the ONLY stylist I've ever had that has consistently given me great cuts, fantastic color and treatments that have made my thin, lifeless hair transform into beautiful fuller-looking and healthier hair that has become easy and fun to maintain. I have fine, delicate blonde hair supplemented with extensions. I came to Dolores after having spent about $1k on set of three bundles of fusion extensions that were so painful, so poorly installed, so poorly blended with my hair. My own hair sat like a shelf above the long unblended extensions. The place I originally went to (YTF in Chelsea) was supposedly "extension specialists" but is in reality more like an extension sweatshop where they make money on bad jobs that are not custom for each client's hair. I knew that I needed a layered cut and one more bundle installed in order to blend my hair and give me a look that would be functional and last until the next installation. Enter Dolores and her expertise: she immediately put me at ease because 1) she knows what she is talking about and is a smart woman 2) she asked all the right questions 3) she is extremely kind, gentle and you can tell she cares about her client's hair and their experience with her. I am so happy that I found Dolores. She has access to real Russian and Indian hair. Not the crap that the other place tried to pass off to me as good quality (I'm positive that the other place blended plastic / synthetic hair with real hair on my install). She has great technical skills in installing fusion extensions on fine hair, and cuts each individual in half to reduce the weight as well as blend the hair better. The haircut she gave me is simply amazing, my hair looks so much better! The layers are blended, and the longer front pieces / bangs are directed away from my face just the way I like it. We even came up with a plan together about how to strengthen and lengthen my own hair while I continue to use the extensions. Bottom line is, I have found a stylist I can trust to help me achieve the look I want with extensions, with no bullshit. Dolores has the skills and technique to fully customize extensions to your needs. She has the experience, and she has a great attitude, and a good heart. In my book, that kind of trust is priceless! Well worth the cost, and her prices are not bad when you consider that you are getting a completely bespoke approach from a stylist with years of experience. read more

If I could give this salon no stars, I would . The owner of the salon Dolores needs get off her high horse and start listing to her client and most of all be honest. I came in for a consultation for hair extensions. I had extensions placed on my hair already and just needed my exstentions adjusted. . She started telling me how bad my extensions were put in and that they were not good quality which is far from the truth. I paid $750 for European hair extensions and that included my Extensions & Labor. This was done in California so I was not able to go there as I was a New York. Dolores continuously stated that my hairstylist should of should've put it in a different way for your hair they did it wrong. She was charging me 750.00 just to put in my my own extensions. She really needed to just tighten them up however she was so hung up on how bad my extensions were and wanted to over price me and Purchase her extensions. Ironic point of the story is that she kept putting down my hair stylists in California including the product that she used. In fact Delores put in an example of a Individual Extension on my hair and it fell out within two days. So much for her knowing what she's doing. I did tell her individual pieces do not take in my hair I had them done many years ago and did fall out. She did not listen to me. In addition, just be careful if you still want to make a appointment. If you do not cancel within 24 hours she takes half of the full price for cancellations. She tried to do that with me and she didn't even realize that my appointment was 48 hours not 24 hours. She Insisted to keep my $50 for a consultation. She couldn't even find her self to give me my $50 back. Bad business practice! read more

I owe my life to Dolores. She has completely changed my head of hair. When I showed up to her four years ago, I had a frizzy, curly, short, damaged, completely unmanageable head of hair. I don't even recognize the girl I see in the mirror anymore. My whole head of hair is transformed. I have long, beautiful hair (and believe me, I NEVER thought those words would come out of my mouth) and al thanks to Dolores. We got my hair the way it is now, through regular keratin treatments and trims. They can get expensive, but so worth the investment. I have said to multiple people, the best money I ever spent was on my keratin. If you have ever considered it but we're afraid (like I was), do not think twice. It is SO worth it I couldn't recommend Dolores enough. She is the only person I will ever let touch my hair. I have been going to Dolores for about 3 year now, one of my longest relationships! Dolores does the most amazing job with extensions. My hair is relatively thin and has gotten progressively so over the years. I had toyed with the idea of getting extensions for a long time, but never really felt comfortable with the expense or with the damage I expected it to do to my hair. Dolores has never pressured or up-sold me into anything, and I can confidently say that after consistently coming for 3 years, that damage only occurs when you go to someone other than Dolores. I saw the salon had a promotion Fall99 - 99$ for a cut and highlights. My appointment was at 3pm. I came in at 2:45pm and wasn't taken till 4pm. I explained to Dolores what I'd like, showed a picture, told her how I want a cut and we went on with the hair treatment. I was comfortable and had a good vibe about the salon until 25% of my hair was in foils. Dolores told me that she has to refill the container with color and each time she will refill, it will cost me an additional $25 then explained that she will have to put a toner in my hair and that will be another $30, blow out will cost another $35 and some "treatment" for the highlights which will be an additional $40. I was boiling inside! I thought to my self, I'm genuinely getting ripped off! Who in their right mind does not tell their client how much the hair treatment will cost BEFORE starting work & just keeps adding charges on the fly!!!! She then said I need a lot of highlights and it will be a lot of work and unfortunately she has to charge me more. Honestly, I wasn't going to tell her I don't agree to it all because I was essentially left with no choice. Was I suppose to leave with my hair unfinished & with dye in it? After being at the salon for like 4 hours, I was out 260 bucks where I came in for a $99 promotion. I have never, ever heard of a salon charging extra for toner - it's included with hair dying I also NEVER came across a salon where they don't blow dry the hair after cutting it to see if hair cut is even. I felt like I was completely ripped off. I stormed out of there as fast as I could because i could not contain my anger. I wish I had a better experience with the salon but I am never going back there. Very unprofessional what she did. The promotion was attractive enough for me to go and check the place out but now it's also the reason I'm never stepping foot in there again. read more
