She feels that she communicated clearly what she wanted. She currently cannot braid it back for sports due the layers falling out. Currently she is horrified with the cut to the point of being in tears. The stylist did call to apologize but what does that do at the end of the day? Now we have to wait until December for this cut to grow out. Maybe next time the stylist should demonstrate one more time in the front where they are going to cut and be cautious (maybe cut below slightly?) -- I think it is easier to remove hair than cut it way too short. Very unhappy, would steer clear of this salon and look elsewhere. Do not recommend.

I love how she really explained the process of the Deva Cut, and gave me some great ideas (NOT just pushing products) to help have more success with my unruly locks. With the Deva cut, they cut your hair dry (to get a better feel of the curl) and then wash and condition, and dry afterwards. I'm still seeing great results nearly a week later, and that's rare for me!! Wow!! GREAT service, super attention to detail, and no matter how busy they got as the morning went on, I never once felt overlooked, which happens in other salons no matter how much you're paying. Today I decided to go there and dye my hair. It was strange as they called me two days ago to let me know to come earlier and that someone else from the person that I had booked online would take care of me. The person who was dying my hair for a year now is not there anymore. Most of the people who were taking care of me before are not there anymore. Today it was the worst experience ever! I am really disappointed with the service. My hair looks awful. I wish I have not used them. My advice as I run my own business--The staff should be more caring about customers and should not experiment with other people's hair. The difference of colors on my hair was absolutely obvious. My hair before was a clear blond color and now the roots are yellow/brown! They were pretending that was all great instead of trying to fix the problem before me paying and leaving the premises. As soon as they told me that I was done with the styling and hair treatment, I approached the register to pay and it was there I made the complaint. The staff knew in advance that they performed malpractice on my hair treatment. They were hoping that I would not have noticed but I stayed silent until I go to the register. I understand that people can make mistakes but no one has owned up to it to say I am sorry. They were making me feel that they were the victims when indeed they had control of my hair and head. If you love and respect your hair, you will not commit color suicide to your hair.

Instead, they just stood there watching us struggle until an outside rep decided to hold the door open as we struggled to navigate the stairs. We finally made it in and I gave her name at the front desk. I asked if she should sit or was her stylist ready. No answer. I asked again. There were 3 people sitting at the front desk. 2 ignoring me and one who said that she doesn't work the front desk but will find out. She went to the back and came out a few minutes later and said that we could come to the back. After sitting, the stylist came over and started coloring. She didn't ask any questions about color. The woman who I was helping hadn't been there in years but apparently was still in the computer so the stylist just assumed that she wanted the same color. Same with the cut. Didn't say a word or ask any questions. Really not cool. After they were done I asked if there was an alternate way to get out of the salon so we wouldn't have to navigate the steps and was told no. I left with a bad feeling and the woman I was helping left with a color and cut that were not what she wanted. I'm not calling out the individual stylist but if Cactus is reading their reviews, do better .

I tried several salons in the area since moving here from Philadelphia several years ago. I found Papillon on one of those tries and have been a client ever since. (I would estimate about 10-12 years.) I have dark, naturally curly hair and spent a lot of time (not to mention money) blowing it out, often twice a week. Dmitiry, highly skilled with scissors, has always cut my hair. Dmitriy, Igor, Jennyffer, and Barbara have blown my hair out over the years and it was always perfect--and it always lasted until the next shampoo. About two years ago, I embraced my natural curls and I go to the salon every six weeks or so to have my hair shaped and styled by Dmitriy. He's as skilled with curly hair as he is with straight hair. I am so happy with my hair thanks to the wonderfully skilled professionals at Papillon. By the way, my hair is turning a very nice silver and even the colorists at Papillon tell me that it's beautiful and I shouldn't change it. Love this place and would never consider going anywhere else. All of the reviews that mention the lovely and warm vibe here are spot on--it's one of those salons where you are respected and appreciated--they will take very good care of you. read more

I have been going to this salon for over ten years and I can't think if a single bad thing to say. The owner Dimitri is an excellent stylist, not to mention polite, kind, and genuine. I love his hair cuts and blow outs. Dimitri recommended Carlo for color, and he has been amazing. My hair looks fantastic and healthy, and he has great positive, calming energy. I've had blow outs done by Igor, and I've always loved them and gotten many compliments. The shop is always clean and inviting, and very community oriented. During the recent hurricane they offered free washing, and blow outs as well as coffee and free wifi to customers without power. I would recommend them to anyone, and I think their prices are excellent. read more
