There is also a Laser Technician/Electrologist named Cat who I also see who does a wonderful service and is very courteous and reliable to her clients. I was so confused on what I wanted exactly but had so much help from: Nicole, a great stylist. She went above and beyond to make me happy, needless to say I was a very happy girl once everything was done. She explained everything and gave me so much professional advice. I didn't go wrong. She's so good at what she does and very friendly! I went to other places after that because The Hair Pavilion is a bit outta my way. The service I received wasn't the same... So obviously I wanted to go back. I requested Nicole again but she isn't in on Saturdays. I was greeted very nicely on the phone and was offered a different stylist and an appointment right away. So I said, sure, why not! Let me tell you, another fantastic experience!!! I was greeted and styled by Karen. She brought my hair back to life, literally. With a last minute appointment, she did everything possible to help me. I wasn't sure what I wanted. She gave me advice and tips and I trusted her expertise. She took over 2 hours working her magic in order to make me happy. She's a great stylist and so friendly too. Trust me, I was a very happy girl, yet again! I've been here three times each time they have squeezed me in to accommodate my schedule and I have left happier each time then the last!! I sent two other of my friends here and they love it!! Nicole is GREAT!! Very accommodating and friendly and Cheryl the owner was AWESOME!!! You would have never known she was the owner you would just think what a great employee.... she helps out and works as hard as everyone else!!! Love this place!!!! It's a far drive for me but I drive a lot anyway and as long as I can manage a vacation day when I see her at least for coloring I can continue to come back to her. The first time she did my hair she did a shaggy bob and recolored it for me. She didn't want to damage my hair so much so she went with a purple color, my hair goes back and forth between pink and purple depending on the level of fading. On my most recent visit yesterday she did a longer pixie because I was debating back and forth between keeping the shaggy bob or going with a pixie. I love the longer pixie and may end up keeping it at least for a few months. Kaitlyn is awesome with hair. She's only at the salon currently on a part time basis, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. I loved what she's done so far during both of my visits and definitely recommend booking with her if you come to Shear Imagination.

I went in for a single process, some highlights and a haircut. My hair is neck-length and layered. I explained to Julia what I wanted done. She does not have a professional website so there is nowhere to check her prices. Nor does she have a pricing chart anywhere in the salon. I know what I have paid at good salons (not Lemon Tree). Julia's shop is convenient for me so I thought I'd give her another try. I felt uneasy with the conversation because of her prying personal questions......"Did you make money when you sold your house? How much does your daughter-in-law make as a school principal?" I would never ask such personal questions to anyone, let alone a hairdresser whom I hardly know. It's none of her business! It seems the conversation always turns financial...even when I used to go to her a few years ago. I don't know if it's nosiness or if she tries to see what she can charge based on my wealth (or lack of). Not sure. It's just weird. Anyway, back to my appointment. I had to choose a color for my roots from a chart. I always assume a knowledgeable hairdresser would be able to tell me which color to use, but not Julia. I chose a color and asked if it was too ashy. She did not give me an answer. So I went with my choice. I did explain to her that I like chunky highlights, but she did them very thin. I will get them done the way I like at another salon in the near future. My haircut is uneven. I told her it was longer on one side but she told me it's because I have a lot of hair and it is hard to get it even. Well, at $80 for a haircut, is cutting it evenly on both sides asking too much? Then it came time to pay. Single process, half highlights and a cut: $335!!!! AND she charged me an additional $13 for a credit card surcharge!!! What salon charges you to pay them??? I also gave her a $40 tip (which I now regret ) so I left there having spent $388! All for something that should have cost me no more than $200. Other quality salons charge $65 for single process, $60 for a haircut and $75 for half head highlights. I remembered why I stopped going there. I told her how disappointed I was with the charges and she offered no solution....no "can we work it out?" Nothing. She could have offered to credit me back that outrageous cc surcharge. But no. I told her to cancel my next appointment (I always book ahead) and she replied that she's already done that. There's just something off with this salon. There are no other people who work there. It's just Julia. She doesn't have to pay anyone, there is no shampoo girl. It's just her. There has never been another person there when I go. And the prices are exorbitant. This is not a wealthy area. We are blue collar workers here. There are other salons in the area who charge normal prices. I just chose her because she is right up the block from me. But it seems she's all about the money. The salon is not fancy. There are water stains on the ceiling. No effort or money is put into beautifying it. So.....I just thought I'd put this experience out there. I know she has rave reviews from other people. I don't know how real those reviews are. I just know what I am writing is the truth. My hair looks ok, but not "almost $400 ok" if you know what I mean. There are other salons.
