Worst place I've ever been to! DO NOT Go to Julian he did a complete chop job. He should be FIRED!!!!! The owner tried to help me and everything that they did was just completely messing it up more. They did end up giving me a refund but it's been since November 11 and my hair still isn't growing in how it should. I killed myself self-confidence I don't wanna be in any pictures. They not only damage my hair they damaged my self worth. I will never be going back there EVER !!!!!! He basically buzzed the back of my head. Horrible hair salon! Do not recommend to anyone!!! It looks like to me that people work here are not very experienced! Look at the pictures for expectation vs reality! I finally wanted to give this salon a try and made an appointment with Jeannie. I just got home with a messed up hair! All I can say is she is not a good colorist and DO NOT recommend her for balayage At ALL! What a clumsy job she has done! I am in tears right now looking at my hair. If she doesn't know the balayage technique she could've said so without ruining my hair!I'm breaking down in tears as I'm writing this. Gosh! This looks horrible. This super light brown blonde color ? What the hell? I clearly mentioned that I needed a "BALAYAGE" I got clearly got crappy "highlights" instead! My hair is so bleached and brassy . This is not even blonde, this is so orange! This doesn't go with my brown skin at all. Pictures are attached to see the damage she has done to my healthy black hair. I told her it's too light and she said I can come back in two days so she can use toner to darken the highlights. My goodness it looks horrible!! I asked for a balayage this looks horrible!! I am terrified to go to her again even though she asked me to come back to do toner for free. Not sure what she will do to my hair next. I called my regular hair stylist and told her that I'm coming to get this fixed and I hope she can color correct my hair. extremely disappointed with my hair color. I cannot speak for the other services they offer but balayage with Jeannie (or May be any color service) is a NO NO!! The pictures were taken at night in bathroom lights but it looks even worse in daylight! My hair is so orange brassy and bleached! Do not go to this saloon to get your hair done. There are much better salons on Long Island. I can't believe I spent over $250 on this crappy hair color job! I am in shock every time I see my hair! What cheap work! I stumbled upon Studio 80 this morning when I was doing a google search to find a new salon in my area. I scheduled an appointment for the same day (unheard of!) with any stylist. When I arrived at the salon, I could tell they were taking proper Covid precautions and I felt okay to continue with my appointment. I learned that I was scheduled with Jeanine, and boy does she work magic! She turned me from a frizzy, thinning mess to a beautiful bob cut. She also gave me great advice for my thinning hair. Around January, I came in for an ombré. I wanted to keep most of my natural root at the top, which is a dirty blonde to light brown. I wanted the BOTTOM to be a warm blonde (just not to look platinum or bleached.) My stylist basically bleached my whole head and started the color just a few inches away from my root. It looked NOTHING like ombré or what I showed her I wanted. My hair looked like my roots were just grown out. Now I know all bleach is damaging, but my hair is very thin to begin with and I believe the chemicals were WAY to harsh. It is now extremely dry and frizzy and the texture completely changed. I keep getting trims just to get rid of the dead. Will not be coming back! read more

He worked with my then long blonde highlighted hair, then long ombré, then I trusted him and he gave me an amazing short cut and even though I wanted to go purple he was spot on with the red!! No one recognized me and it looked stunning!! Then he added the perfect shade of purple as an assymetrical highlight.... Tried this place out as I have heard good things, and I had a great experience. I highly recommend Michael; he's been at the salon since it opened, and is very knowledgeable and friendly. I had tasked him with "fixing" my hair, and he did just that! It took a few processes and almost 3 hours, but he was patient and I didn't feel rushed even though I was there after closing. I absolutely love my new hair colors! Janine was excellent and she did exactly what I wanted. No force to cut my hair shorter or push towards a particular style. I wanted blue and purple highlights and that's what I got. I will definitely be going back. The prices are reasonable and the staff was great. LOL I actually think I hate this place. This was my first time booking any sort of service outside of the city. What a mistake that was. I called about a week ago and booked a blowout. I'd mentioned I had extensions that I'd like put in. I asked for a price and was quoted $35. Note, that's more or less what I pay in the city. Fast forward to today. I walked in at 9:18am for a 9:30. I said I was here for a blowout and reiterated that I had extensions. I'm early which should be a good thing. The receptionist proceeded to look at me confused. He tells me go to the sink, with no real direction of where I should go, if I could put my jacket somewhere, who my stylist might be or anything. Okay. I feel like this is all obvious but maybe I'm expecting too much and am spoiled by Manhattan. Fine. I walk around, find the sinks and proceed to sort of stand there. A few women look at me, and carry on with what they're doing. Finally, I get the attention of a girl and she asks me to take a seat. I ask if I can put my jacket somewhere and she points to the front, I feel like this should have been obvious, you can't wash my hair with my fur hood on, but okay. She washes my hair, does a great job actually and then tells me where I should sit. My stylist comes along (I didn't catch her name), and she immediately tells me that she is short on time because whoever booked me booked me incorrectly and had me under a wrong name and number entirely. **This is important because of what the manager tries to tell me later** They had apparently called another woman who hadn't been to the salon in nearly five years, so, they only allotted half an hour for my blowout. But I was early, so she has 45 mins, mind you. She tells me she will do her best to put my extensions in and do my hair in time. I'm agitated at this point, but I stay polite. I don't really get how it's my problem and how I'm getting shortchanged for YOUR salon's mistake. But okay, mistakes happen. You should accommodate me then. To this stylist's credit, she tried really hard, but she also had no idea what she was doing. She never asks me what sort of look I want for my blowout. I show her, and say a few times, I want volume at the crown and loose waves. She says great, should be no problem in the half hour. She starts blow drying my hair and I see her blowing it out straight. Why I don't really know when I asked for waves and volume. She proceeds to ask me if my hair is pin straight. I say no it's just straight. I think she mishears me, and continues blowing out my hair straight. I feel like this is so obvious. If you blow dry my hair straight, it will be straight. If you actually try to blow it out the way I asked, and knew what you were doing, you would be able to actually give me what I asked for. I get the same thing every damn time I get a blowout. Why this is so difficult to achieve for her, I don't understand. Actually I do! It's because she lacks elementary knowledge of how to blow out hair. So she says she will have to go in with a curling iron. Okay fine. But remember I asked for blown out waves and it's your own fault you have to use an iron. Because you don't know how to do hair. She begins to put in my extensions and puts them in so loosely and asks if I usually have to tease to put them in. UH NO. I tell her to pull on the hair with a little tug and it should clip in perfectly and hold. She seemed so lost with this whole exercise, just a mess. She manages to get them in and keeps asking if it feels good. At this point, I know this is as good as it's gonna get for me, so I say yes, it's fine so we can both move on with our damn lives. She does enlist the help of the girl who washed my hair to help brush out the extensions and begin curling my hair so she could accommodate me. But really just lacks the knowledge to achieve the relatively simple style I'm asking and that I can do on my own too. She ends up completely curling my hair, again, I asked for waves. I get exactly ZERO volume. I ask if she can tease it or get volume in it somehow, she says there's no time left. LOL OKAY. I head to the front desk, and the receptionist tells me it will be $50 instead of $35. I ask why, when I had confirmed the price. The reception guy tells me I'd gotten a blow out and they had to use the curling iron and no one was aware of the extensions beforehand. NOT TRUE and not my fault your stylist had to use the iron, not what I asked for and I also didn't get the look I asked for. Not even close. I pay and leave and call the manager. The manager tells me that she was told about this and says they booked me for a blowout but I had curls put in so this was why I had such a bad experience and was short on time. NOT WHAT YOUR GIRL TOLD ME. Like that's not what happened. I explain that she did my hair all wrong of course she has to use the iron. All in all, awful. I just returned from this salon after calling 1 hour before desperate for an appt. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, listened to what I needed and got me an appt. with Jamie. Jamie took the time to listen to my long story regarding my hair and her suggestions were exactly what I had hoped for. She gave me amazing color ...a color I've been trying to achieve for years! She also gave me a great haircut and her suggestion was again exactly what I was thinking of doing. I forgot the hair washer's name but she was kind and gave a mini head massage and comfortable wash.
