By far the worst of the worst experiences that I have in a salon.... 1. Even after I came more than a week earlier for consultation the day of my appt the stylist did what she wanted and no what she told me will do On the day of the consultation. 2. I even asked to cut more my hair and she denied... is my hair if I need shorter why she rejected to do it? 3. My whole skin is completely messed with many stains .... Is irritated and still full of stains because of the dye. 4. I came out with the style that I wasn't requested and I clearly expressed to Lee (the stylist) that I wasn't happy at all with the results. By far I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!!! my first and for sure THE LAST time I go there. read more

i've been going to vanity since i was two years old! i absolutely adore their entire staff, they're literally like my second family. no matter the occasion, they have always managed to do an outstanding job on my hair. i have gotten everything from my first communion hair to my high school graduation hair done by them! i also began coloring my hair (bayalage) about four years ago, and i am delighted with the results. lauren does an amazing job and not only gives me exactly what i want, but is also the sweetest person ever. i cannot recommend this salon and her services enough! nicole is also amazing at updos! she did my senior prom updo with baby's breath and many of my friends hair as well. i love vanity and still continue to go to them for all of my hair coloring appointments despite currently living in tennessee for college. 10/10 salon and people. :) read more

I was very disappointed and dissatisfied with the recent experience I had at Vanity Square Salon in Sayville. The service and professional treatment was substandard. They colored my hair completely opposite of what I requested, then upon respectfully sharing my disappointment, I was treated very rudely and was told to get out of the chair, pay at the counter and leave. I was so upset upon the completion of this work that I returned to my original salon and was embarrassed to show them what was done to me. I have been going to Kris for over 20 years and love the way she cuts, colors and blows out my hair. She always gives great suggestions and is very professional. Diane at the desk keeps everything running smoothly. The young ladies that wash your hair are kind and thorough. Plus they will get you water, tea, coffee or a cappuccino. Each stylist listens; however, if they think you are suggested something that will not enhance your face, they make their suggestion kindly and compassionately. The salon is neat. The products make you feel like you've spent a million dollars on your hair. I would have to agree that this is the best salon I've ever been to. I would follow my stylist anywhere but I'm hoping she will stay here for a very long time. Parking is easy for Sayville and there are places to window shop to excess after you leave. I am hoping that this review helps other brides select a salon that they will be happy with for their wedding day. I chose vanity sqaure because I wanted to go to a salon close to my wedding venue. The cost was 100$ for an updo and a 75 $ trial fee. I also had to pay about 30$ the day before to have my hair straightened I would certainly not recommend this place to anyone for bridal hair styling. My bridesmaids hair was really not flattering and resembled something from a 1990s prom. The hairstylist was very unprofessional as well and kept harping on the fact that my bridesmaids highlights were too grown out (not something anyone wants to hear when there is nothing that can be done) My hair really did not come out nice at all. I do have curly hair, which she straigtened and then recurled with a curling iron and sprayed tons of hairspray in it. (most places in long island do not know how to set curly hair so I did expect this) It also resembled something out of the 1990s. She really did not know how to work with my hair texture. I should have realized this during the trial, however during the trial I did not have my hair straightened so I thought it would have come out better. In all fairness, I arrived 15 minutes late because of makeup. The hairstylist certainly rushed because of this and my hair really did not come out nice. The hairstylist was reminded by the owner that she had an 11:00 appt following me. ( I understand this was not her fault as I was l5 min late...but come on it was my wedding day. They did not seem to care too much about the final product, just on getting me out of there so they can take the next client) My bridal attendant at Lands end had to redo it with a curling iron because it really looked like a rats nest by the time I got to the facility. All in all, my other bridesmaids that went to salons in nassau county had beautiful hairstyles. They were actually given 90 minutes and paid a lot less. I was very dissapointed with my hair and it certainly limited the pictures I was able to select. read more
