I ended up at Salon Lujan by accident. The stylist I had been going to for quite some time got Covid and I desperately needed my hair done. I called Salon Lujon and got an appointment with Wendy. It was destiny. My hair was about to my shoulders and I wanted to do something drastic, trusting a hairstylist to do something drastic to your hair when you've never actually Seen her work is a pretty bold thing to do. It could've turned out being a nightmare. But after speaking with Wendy and going over what it was I wanted and what it was she suggested, I felt very confident that she was going to do a good job. We ended up cutting my hair into a short bob with layers. She highlighted my hair and put some low lights in it as well. I cannot tell you how amazing my hair turned out. I have never loved a haircut as much as I have loved the one that Wendy gave to me. I was FaceTiming with a friend today and she commented that "I looked the most beautiful she"s ever seen me look"!! It was such a sweet thing for her to say and I owe it all to my haircut. Even my twin daughters who love nothing I do, say or wear loved my hair. I've definitely found myself a new stylist. So glad I heard about this place. I came to this salon for the first time a little over a month ago. My sister and her friend had recommended it and I was not disappointed. The salon itself is huge, full service with everything from hair, nails to spa services with many friendly employees. I booked my appointment with Rubi because I heard she's great at lightening hair. Rubi is so nice and kept me entertained the entire time. I'll admit, I'm not very social, but she was very easy to have a conversation with. Super friendly and I enjoyed my time here. It's been a long time since I wrote an update! I am still a current client at Salon Lujon, but I feel like the quality of the stylists has declined in recent years. Most of the better stylists left to go to other salons and the only remaining stylists aren't the most friendly, plus make you feel rushed. I still like the ambiance of the salon and the fact that the stylists always offer you hot or cold beverages during your visit to make you feel comfortable, but I've also had issues with scheduling appointments more recently and the receptionists haven't always been very helpful. I will most likely try out another studio next, especially if the prices are comparable and the location is a bit more convenient, as parking can sometimes be challenging to find in downtown Fullerton. read more

I saw Katie Tody for a Brazilian wax at this salon! I am visiting Fullerton from the Chicago area and needed some service to enjoy the beautiful CA weather. My sister comes to this salon for her facials and recommended I try here. I decided I'd give it a shot since it's just down the road from her apartment. I called Tuesday morning and they were able to fit me in for a same day appointment. I was nervous upon arriving (with waxing you get used to the regular person you go to) but Katie was so professional and friendly! She made the experience easy and I can confidently say that this was the least painful wax I've ever experienced! Katie is very educated in her craft and spent time educating me on different products and ways to care for my wax. She even removed many of my ingrowns that I was having trouble with for weeks! I was very pleased with that as the girl I see back in Chicago does not do that! All together- this was a great experience! A highly trained professional who is extremely kind and well educated! We became friends first and when I found out Deanna was a hair dresser, I was so excited to find someone who I could trust. She has always been wonderful to work with, gives me the best cute short hair cuts and PERFECT color. I also used to have a photography business for high school seniors, and I would have her style all my clients and they all LOVED her! She is just fantastic to work with! She was super friendly when I went to my first appointment, I brought my niece once because she was tagging along with me and sierra took the time to give her a haircut while I was processing. Today I had the pleasure of having Christy Hunter weave, cut and blow dry my hair. What a wonderful way to start the mid morning! I can't compliment Christy enough, but I'm sure you can tell by the pictures what a professional perfectionist she is. We spoke about the color selections and her suggestions are perfect to blend with my skin tone and eye color. The copper shades lasted over 5 1/2 weeks and didn't turn brassy. The blond base is exactly what I requested and I love, love, love the coppers and reds blended. This cut is super easy to take care of and not only do my friends tell me how good it looks but I get tons of compliments from my cronies at KoreFire fitness and strangers. It was my first time at this salon and I loved it! I found Jen M. through Yelp and loved the work that she has done on previous clients. Getting there was kinda tricky for their main entrance as there are multiple doors, but the staff was nice in redirecting me. After checking in, I met with Jen and went over a consultation of what I would like, have done previously, and what I need to do to maintain my hair as I was going lighter. I was offered snacks and drinks too haha! We went straight into this 3-4 hour process on my hair and it was well worth it. I did a balayage and haircut and enjoy the hair I have now. The price was affordable as well! I am not a high maintenance person, so it was nice getting something that can fit that. Desiree Rendon has been hairstylist for over four years. I followed her when she moved to this Salon Lujon because she knows exactly what I want with my hair and also makes sure my hair always healthy in the process. When I first met her, I had stumbled into the salon she was originally working at and had her fixed a really bad dye job. Til this day we joke about how I looked like a 90s playboy bunny. Nothing wrong with that look, however if you knew me you'd know this was not the look I was going for. After this session, I have never went to anyone else. Every time I see Desiree, she always makes sure we are both on the same page in terms of my hair color and cut. Not only do I enjoy her hair painting and hair cutting skills. I'm pretty sad because I heard good things about this salon and legitimately wanted to enjoy my experience. I I liked my hairstylist Vanessa's personality, which is why I have hesitated in writing this review. However, I have come to terms with the fact that I am not pleased with the finished product and should not be afraid to say so. If anything, the fact that I held back from writing my review (I visited February 6th 2021) has caused me much stress. I tried to love my hair, and figured the end result & what I went home with would grow on me. I am notthe type of person to complain. But I realized that at $270, I should probably get what I'm paying and asking for. I visited the salon with hopeful and was quite anxious to get my hair done because I have never really had the full salon experience before. The salon staff were friendly. I asked specifically for this "chocolate" balayage and provided several reference photos. I trusted Vanessa when she said she knew the perfect formula. Coming from over 32 miles away, I asked many questions to make sure I knew what I was getting into, and the fact that she said she understood exactly what I wanted originally set me at ease. However, once I arrived and sat in the chair, she showed me another reference photo, from someone else she had recently done. It wasn't anything like I wanted. I clearly stated that I was not looking for something like that, and that I wanted to stick with warm colors, and again provided several examples in-person of what I envisioned. Again, having not gotten a balayage before, I knew what the end product should look like, but didn't know the specifics of application and thus entrusted the work in my stylist's hands. I do not like to correct people at their job, with the assumption that they are more trained than me. The process went well. Vanessa utilized techniques to preserve my dry hair, which I was satisfied with. However, the color? Oh no. It was the exact bronze/orangey/yellow color I wanted to avoid. Also she used the highest heat setting on the blow drier, which is horrible for curly/wavy hair like mine. I asked her to lower it and she cranked it down a tiny bit. I guess she had to hurry for her next client who had already arrived. Not sure why we were booked so close, considering my lightening process was faster than usual. Anyways, I tried to love my end-product hair. I tried to make the best of it. However, it looks like she utilized curls to cover up the flaws in her work. Upon the curls loosening I saw just how uneven and patchy the work was. My roots and the top of my head were still as black and dark as they were when I arrived (and I was charged for a full-head balayage). It looks terrible because it looks like my roots have grown out already, not that I got my hair done 2 weeks ago. Also, upon the first two washes, it seems like the color has completely faded!?!? (And yes, I used color safe Purology shampoo!) My hair looks the exact same as how it did before it went in! My family and friends have commented that they could hardly tell a difference. Honestly we could've done a better job if I box-dyed it. I'm super disappointed in the work and honestly regret even using all of my money on my birthday to get such a saddening end product. I have been going to Shanley for 7 years now. She really is the best. From drastic 7 inch cuts and every color imaginable, to baby trims and natural looks and updos, she has done it all and every time it's exactly what I asked for. She really gets to know her clients and understands what "mood" they're in. If I'm questioning what I should do, she knows that I'm not ready for a big change and will do something subtle but different enough. She does her best to squeeze you in last minute. She let's her clients know if she's going out of town so we know to book in if we need to. I brought my mom in on her birthday and she loved her updo so much she's going back tomorrow to get a cut/color/conditioning treatment. Shanley is the best there is. So sweet and amazing at what she does. As for the salon itself, it's really nice inside. The parking situation is easy as there is a small structure right next to the salon.
