I had not known that otherwise I would have rejected the appointment. My hair lifts easily, and Haley noted that. Despite that, she used too strong a developer and damaged my hair beyond belief. Not only that. She missed half of my head with toner. She noticed. And didn't tell me. She let me leave the salon with half of my head not toned. It's very noticeable from the back. I didn't see it at the appointment because she didn't show me the back - and now I know why. That's the worst of it, but she also didn't rinse my hair properly, so I still had product dried up and crusty in my hair. And she barely used any product while she blew out my hair on the highest heat, burning my scalp a couple of times and damaging my hair even more. And it was still a bit wet by the time I left. I'm usually pretty relaxed, so I didn't complain until after I went home and noticed that my head wasn't properly toned (which is also not that hard to do, I've done it myself during covid lockdowns - so it really is incredible that she messed up this bad and didn't say anything, hoping I wouldn't notice). Nothing about my experience with Haley was positive. Her work was incredibly sloppy, negligent, and dishonest. Edited to add (in response to Howie, the owner): You know the issue isn't with the toner itself - I did not see that she didn't do the back otherwise I obviously wouldn't have been "pleased". Again, you know this. I have a photo attached. You see how bad it is. I don't know why you're trying to act like that quality of service is okay. I didn't realize Red Chair's standards were so low, and I regret that I gave you all a shot :/ Also, I have to spend the holidays looking like this. So thanks for that.

Andy helped me work out a plan for it and did a cut that gave my fine, very straight hair lots of movement, texture, and style even with my super low maintenance daily routine. It's been a week now since getting it cut, and sometimes when you do that first week (or even first wash) you have a moment where you're like "hey where'd all the cool haircut go, it's just mush again?" NOT SO. This one maintains great movement and texture even with just blow drying it the night before and tossing texturizer in it in the morning (which I got at a discount thanks to their welcome package). I also loved seeing all the different types of neighborhood people around--not just like fancy people getting their hair done but a really wide spectrum from older dudes to younger NB folx and femmes. The gal left the foil on way too long and my hair is so damaged. It's literally half as thick as it used to be. I hate leaving bad reviews but this was devastating. And the gal who fixed it wasn't much better. It's like they made me intentionally ugly. And brushing with such force through wet hair like they had never brushed hair before. My hair is trashed, weak, and brittle and breaking off. For the $400 spent, will not risk a third visit. Very disappointed. Not a glow up I was hoping for. Not dimensional. The highlight placement does not make sense. There's a reason she didn't hand me a mirror to see the back of my head for a reason. Really really bad work. I'm honestly just trying not to look at it until next summer.

I paid a lot and tipped very well just for it to look like an amateur cut my hair. Don't come here. I regret coming here as I looked better with my dead ends. Olivia began thoroughly washing my hair, with a nice scalp massage too. Once done and in the chair, we then discussed the style being I was looking for: long u shaped with lots of layers and face framing pieces. She used only scissors, no razors. Hair was wet and she sectioned off the hair to blow dry and cut. After she was done cutting, she used a flat iron to show me how to style the layers to make it look fresh and full of volume! Adair Davidson has been my hair stylist for many years. She has a warm and welcoming personality. She is innovative creative and time-efficient in her cutting and styling techniques. Not only is she great with hair, she is also wonderful with people. She is able to adapt herself to the person and create a relaxed environment for the client by being a great listener and multi-tasker. She manages to seamlessly weave her own expertise with the clients wishes. I remember when i accidentally set one side of my hair on fire when attempting to blow out the dinner candles. I came to Adair and she did a wonderful job of blending my hair and cutting it in a way where it could grow it out nicely. Not an easy thing to do! Long hair ladies, have you ever gone to a hair and said only cut x inches off... but some how you leave with x+2 inches missing? Is it almost like the hair dresser is like "it's so long, she won't notice". But you know... Well, that is NOT Angela !! LOL. You get what you want. She respects you and your long hair. Even though I have no doubt she is wicked talented and could do crazy awesome things with those shears and my hair, NO MEANS NO when I say I don't want layers. Guess who listened: Angela. All joking aside, it was so nice to have a hair dresser who didn't push their hair agenda on me. Really, I just wanted a trim. Best blow out too to follow up and very nice simple cut. I had yet another amazing result from my go to stylist Angela Scott. I had this crazy long unruly gray hair taking over me and my house. From the time you sit down in her chair you know she has control over her craft by the way the analyses your hair not only visually but by touch and of course asking what it is you need and are looking for. Gave me my pre cut, colored my silver hair with this beautiful apricot-beige stain that was just enough of a transformation but not a shocking change that screamed - look I colored my hair. For the last year and a half Angela has been instrumental in making my hair as fabulous as possible at all times! I had Carmen as my stylist and she did such a phenomenal job! I came in with a bad dye job from a few months ago and she fixed it and then some. I was worried because the bleach from before was chunky and streaky, and I wanted a smoother more connected look. Angela is fantastic at The Brazilian Blowout and other straightening treatments. My daughter and I both have seen Angela for several years to straighten our hair and reduce frizz. We have both gone to other salons for similar treatments and Anglea does the best work and has the best straightening treatments that we can find. She does it at a good price too. I just got done getting 11 inches of hair cut at Salon Escada, got an ombre done and I absolutely love it!!!!! I've never had anybody else but Angela put color to my hair. I've heard of way too many horror stories that I didn't trust anyone. I gave Angela a chance and she did not disappoint. Ever since then I seen Angela for the past 5 years for any hair services. After much hesitation, I decided to do something I really never do, write a negative review for a…read morestylist. I hate to do this, as I don't like feeling as if I'm damaging someone's livelihood, but if it keeps someone else from going through what I'm experiencing, I think it's necessary. I was in need of a new stylist so decided to try Claudia. I wanted to do a new color, and I saw she had a positive review about that service. And she did in fact do a great job! I wanted a slightly darker color than I had, and even though I didn't have any example photos, she came up with results that I really liked. But the haircut...wow. It was the worst one I've had in many years. I have very long hair which has taken me years to grow out. I told Claudia I wanted the ends cleaned up and didn't want to lose any significant amount of length. She cut 4-5 inches, about two years of growth, off. I also told her I needed some long layers around the face, to provide framing and keep my rather coarse hair from turning into a triangular poof. She did none of this. She did do some weird thing on the ends that left me hair looking much more frizzy and frayed than normal. The hairs around the bottom are all slightly different lengths. I have no idea what the purpose of this was supposed to be, but it left my hair looking a lot worse. I lost all my hair several years ago during cancer treatment and this experience has triggered some really unhappy feelings. I know it's just hair, but I had finally gotten to the point where I had kind of a cool and unusual hair look, and now it's just a standard middle-aged mom cut, and not a very good one at that. Claudia may feel this is unfair as I didn't say anything before I left, but I was honestly in a state of shock and just wanted to get home and wash it to see if it was as bad as I suspected. GF came home from the cut with Miyoko and something seemed off so I asked her to put her hair up in a ponytail. See first picture. CHRIST I'm pretty sure Supercuts would have done a significantly better job. I told her to ask for a refund, but the stylist offered to fix. GF comes back from the fix and see second picture. Just abysmal. Negative stars for this place and stylist. For the price, I would have expected some level of experience.

You see... my hair was down to my waist and I was ready to go shorter (long bob). Upon arrival, Andrea stated she was about 15 minutes behind and asked that I either hang out in the salon or go run an errand and circle back. I grabbed a coffee from the nearby cafe instead and returned 20 minutes later as she was finishing up with her client. I did not see Andrea sterilized the chair before I sat down (thankfully I'm vaccinated). I told her what I wanted (modern long bob). I explained that my hair is thick and coarse. I wanted to give her enough creative "freedom" to make my hair look good. I had A LOT of hair to play with. A lot. The cut was going okay until I saw Andrea pull out thinning shears. I've never had a professional hair dresser use thinning shears... but again, creative freedom. Andrea asked if my front baby hairs was due to breakage. I explained it was my baby hair and maybe due to some breakage. She asked if I'd like to blend my hair a bit to even it out. I said yes (in hindsight, I totally should have said no). She finished her cut, and what appeared to be a last minute afterthought, she tried to give me bangs (?) but only gave it one quick blunt cut. Upon inspection the morning after and styling my hair the way I would do it, I noticed that Andrea gave me several blunt cuts that were not blended nor even (see photo). I also noticed that my bob was not even. It tapered toward the back (see photo). It was obvious that the top layer of hair was much shorter than the bottom layer. It also appeared that the use of thinning shears created A LOT of fly aways on the top layer. I WAS NOT HAPPY. I called Andrea before the salon opened and asked her to fix it that same day. She apologized that I didn't like my hair. Andrea was not available and neither were her two other hair dressers. Frankly, I was relieved. I asked for a full refund and Andrea quickly abided. I really hope this was a one off. I ended up finding another salon that had availability that same day (for the same price!). They cut off another 1.5 inches and fixed my bangs. I love my cut now. It's straight and blended and sleek. Maybe you'll have better luck at this salon.
