This was highly recommended on Yelp and I can see why. Pretty reasonably priced, easy to book online, clean and Friendly!!! Had a haircut and blow dry with Melek and she was just amazing! Will be coming back for all my hair needs! read more

I will NEVER go here ever again. Made an appointment online before going. When walking up to the building there was a man sitting outside smoking a cigarette, not ideal but fine. Once checked in, the man behind the counter went to go get my "stylist" (if you can call them that). Yup... the man sitting outside smoking. The entire haircut I was gasping for air and trying to avoid his smoke breath as he cut my hair. He made 0 attempt at conversation other than "what do you want" which he then disregarded and did his own thing to my hair. Even checking his phone at one point. The experience lasted 15 minutes (as I guess he had to head back out and finish his smoke break) but I was charged for a full 45 minute cut. No tip and no chance of me ever coming back. I live in the area and will almost always see him smoking outside when I pass by. read more

I wanted to leave a review since it's been a a while since there has been one on this business and because I had such a great experience. I was able to get an appointment the next day and booked online which was really easy. I saw Melek and she was fabulous! I LOVE my haircut and so does everyone around me. I will definitely go back to see her again! The salon was also clean, calm and beautiful! It was a great experience. read more

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR BLONDER HAIR! I booked with Ismail and asked for a blonde balayage with money pieces, and this was the result the day after I got my hair done, when I went to put it up in a bun. I've had my hair so many different colors the last 15 years and have never had my hair burned off due to bleach, as you can see at my scalp. I went back to the salon asked for a partial refund due to having to pay to get it fixed, on top of the permanent damage to my hair. I was given $74 cash as my "partial refund". I was told that the burning of my hair was "new growth" despite my scalp/hair being burned. Ismael totally denied any wrong doing. My services were $350+tip over $400. I will never come back here, do not recommend. read more

I can't really tell you a lot more about this place other than it's the place I trust on my hair and look for more than 9 years since I lived in the U.S ! One of the very things I was worried about living in a new place was finding a good barber! Also my whole family goes there and everyone has been so happy! Males or Females! I myself use Murat for the 9 years , I explain to him what I need, I used photos sometimes but now he knows what I need without asking! Communication is a key ! Melek, Ismael and Jim are all great! They are also very lovely people, very friendly and very welcoming! Note: it's your hair! If you're a first time client PLEASE make sure you understand each other! Use photos if needed and I promise you will be so happy and will never leave them again! The place is nice and clean and in the beautiful area of Fairfax Corner! I usually grab a coffee from Peet's if they are open! Park the car away and walk to Salon Citi! Men and Women! Try them and if you like them leave a compliment, vote and don't forgot to pray for me and say God Bless You Kareem!! Lol ( for those who are reading my reviews for the first time, that means if you like it just say God bless you Kareem for telling us about this place!!) LOL read more

When I tell you that I will never go to another salon.. it's 1000% true! Salon Citi has set the bar for all my hair color, cut and blowout needs! Melek is a blonde hair dream come true! After reading so many positive reviews about this salon and specific stylist I had to try for my self - this woman does incredible work & in record time! I have never been treated with so much kindness and understanding any where like I have with Melek! This salon was very clean and updated, it felt very luxurious.. The experience was next level! I was even offered a very delectable Turkish coffee and cookies! So lucky! Reasonably priced and also worth every penny! This place is a must go! If you want to be spoiled rotten.. go here. $300 for a uneven cut (literally just noticed after the "blow out" dropped) a whole different hair color than the reference picture I showed him. AND burn spots from the bleaching. Plopped my hair on top of my head for 30minutes. Even tho I said it was burning really bad, he said it was "normal". ismail, listen to your clients!! extremely disappointed and frustrated . I work hard for my money, I could've spent 300 anywhere else and gotten better results. Not black women friendly. Go anywhere else!!! read more

I am very happy with the results of my highlights. Jale is a truly talented stylist and I enjoyed my appointment.

Review for Ismail Buber, who has been my 'coiffeur' since 3 or 4 locations ago. If you want to get 'coiffed' true to European Gent style, Ismail is your man. He makes for great conversation aswell. And is his new Fairfax location, his lovely spouse has joined him, who has golden hands as became apparent during the shampooing. read more

Melek, is my go to hair stylist at this Salon. My husband used to go this place and his cut was always on point. So I decided to give it a try. I have been going here past three years. Blow dry with curls or waves or bouncy. You name it Melek does it. Absolutely love my hair more when it's styled by Melek. read more

My boyfriend had an awesome mullet, he was still growing it out but all he wanted was to clean up the sides a little bit and leave the top and obviously the back. This man did not understand yet didn't ask questions so why did he proceed. It took months to grow out that mullet almost a fucking year. If you don't know what your doing, don't proceed ask questions or for a TRANSLATOR! The man also checked his phone mid cut which is very unprofessional. If you want to have some kind of chance of leaving this place with a good cut, make sure you don't get Murat. My boyfriend is such a sweet guy and feels bad speaking up and his heart broke when he felt that snip in the back. Don't come here if you want to go somewhere that will not just understand you but will do what you ask. If I could leave 0 star I would bc this place sucks. read more

Hair color: The worst!! Ismael left the bleach on my hair for 2 hours and a half! My hair damaged big time that i had to chop it off!!! After bleaching, he tried to fix the color 4 times and couldn't get the color, in the picture i showed him, not even close!! DONT COLOR YOUR HAIR THERE, THEY WILL BURN IT! Hair cut: Not bad for hair cut only. Customer service: After burning my hair with bleaching, and had to cut it to get rid of the damaged hair, they fought with me and wanted me to pay them for the damaging my hair. Absolutely not recommending this salon to anyone i know read more

I've never been to a proper hair salon before, but after completing my exams I felt like I deserved a good quality experience. Salon Citi was exactly that and more!! I didn't have an appointment but the staff welcomed me in and got my hair washed and seated right away. Ismael was my hair dresser, I shared my concerns and showed him my inspiration photos, and my hair turned out exactly how I wanted! Ismael was very kind and talented, and I can tell he works hard to please his clients. Will definitely be coming back again for my next hair cut! read more

I highly recommend Ismail for color. I've been a customer of his for over 3 years and followed him from his last salon. He does an amazing job, and the longer you see him the more depth he can incorporate into your hair color with highlights and lowlights. Ask him for a Turkish coffee or tea while you're there! I like the salon and usually isn't too busy in the evenings during the week. You usually don't have to wait long and they accommodate walk-ins for men's trims and women's blowouts. read more

Truly an amazing experience!!! I showed photos and asked for a wolf cut with bangs while keeping the length in the back. I got exactly that. Ismael was super attentive and I trusted him with my hair. Will be coming back! read more

Maleka is the BEST. I have been going to her for 10 years and will not go to anyone else. She is not just my hair lady, she is a lady I love dearly and always look forward to seeing her. She is professional, gentle, kind, and always listening to my needs. She puts my hair health first and takes the time to explain to me different things she is doing. I appreciate her attention to the little details. My hair has gone through a lot with various medical issues and Maleka has helped bring it back to life and give me my confidence back. The coloring she uses is safe and healthy. I appreciate her more than anything and recommend this salon!! Super fun crew and amazing music always!! read more

OMG!!! I cannot put into words how much I love my new hair! Ismail absolutely went above and beyond my expectations. I'm from New Orleans, and have a salon I've been going to for years down there so I was very nervous to try a new place. This is easily my favorite haircut I've ever gotten. Everyone who worked there was so nice and had smiles on their faces. They even gave me some lovely hot tea while I got my hair done. I will 100% be back and I'll be bringing my boyfriend here to get his haircut as well. Thank you so much Salon Citi. Xoxo read more

I've been going to Citi Salon for over a decades. Everyone's awesome, especially Malaika. She's professional, friendly, and dedicated to taking care of customers from all walks of fame: background and nationalities. She always offers the most outstanding customer service regardless of the timing and situation. One of her biggest assets is her patience with the most difficult customers. She always turns a difficult situation into a pleasant and exciting one. I always appreciate HER friendly, pleasant attitude,& I'll definitely recommend others others to come to Citi Salon. read more

Good haircut, fast and walkins are welcome. But he cut my hair too short, and it's pricey for what you get, staff are also not so chatty, just into getting the job done. If you're after a quick trim this maybe ok for you. read more

Went here based off of all the great reviews and unfortunately my experience wasn't the same. Out of the entire salon the only person who seemed to be friendly was the woman who washed my hair. I had Ismail as my stylist, and when I showed him a detailed video of the exact cut I wanted he barely took note of it and just started. When washing my hair they didn't use any conditioner, so he worked at my thick hair very aggressively with a paddle brush to try and get through it before cutting. For my hair I asked for chin length bangs tapered to long layers in the back, and they were cut separately without blending it into my layers. Before finishing my haircut, another woman walked into the salon and sat in the chair beside me. Ismail said he would be finished in 2 minutes and would be able to help her. He quickly finished my haircut and got another woman to blow dry my hair for me, and she did so without putting any heat protecting spray on it first. After she finished he checked me out, told me the price would be $80 and I asked if that was including the 20% off from Yelp. He told me it would be $72, which is only 10% off. I didn't feel like arguing so I just paid it and left. Overall an unpleasant and unfriendly experience, and I definitely will not be returning. read more

Dear Melek, How do I love thee? Let me count the ways! Thank you from a loyal customer of over 5+ years. I've been everything from a platinum blonde to a dark, rich brunette and everything in between and Melek has been there for it all. The best quality you can ask for in a colorist/stylist is honesty. And integrity. And she always has the health of my hair as her top priority which I so appreciate. She tells me when I can/cannot safely color my hair when my next wild request comes and she always takes time to deeply condition my hair with each visit. True story, I was even asked at the #Nordstrom counter literally after leaving Fairfax Corner yesterday; did you just come from the hair salon?! Why, yes. Yes I did. Thank you, Melek, for keeping my mane healthy and beautiful! read more

If you want a mullet, ask for Melek! Oh wait...ask for someone else, and they'll still give you a haircut with Melek. I have been to Salon Citi four times. The first and second time, I received haircuts from Ismail. I was really happy with the haircut and vowed to keep returning to the salon. The third time I visited, I booked an appointment with Ismail. When I arrived, I was told Melek would be cutting my hair. I went along with it, assuming they were especially busy that day. I ended up underwhelmed with the end result. It wasn't really what I wanted but it wasn't awful either. I decided I'd stick with Ismail for future appointments. Well, the fourth time I visited, I booked my appointment again with Ismail. When I arrived, I was again told Melek would be cutting my hair. I was not happy, but I went along with it to avoid an uncomfortable situation. I asked Melek to trim my hair to should-length, with layers and sideswept bangs. I provided a photo of what I was looking for (attached to this post). Well, you can see for yourself the mullet I received (also attached to this post). read more

My God a hidden gem. I've always had hair extensions. Beaded, hand tied you name it. Always an issue. I just had hair extensions done at the salon and ladies you are missing out. Service was poor, I was not offered a beverage or to hang my coat. I asked if they were busy to highlight this and stated I could come back. I was assured they had time, after cut, I waited 20-30 min to get my hair blowdried after I kept asking for someone as they tried to juggle appointments. The vibe and customer experience is very low class, I had gone here for quick cuts about 4-6 years and this was the level of treatment and care for a returning customer. Over 100 dollars later for an inch trim and dead space of waiting an extra 30 min for a person to blow dry as if I am an inconvenience. I got up to leave, I was completely disgusted with them and I will never return. The cut is uneven. Absolutely disgusted with the "manners" displayed. When I tried to pay the owner didn't believe the card didn't have contactless payment and needed the chip inserted ... my face was beyond... and still charged full price for the extra wasted time, bad cut and completely ruined any self care relaxing vibes. Opposite of the experience I was expecting and inexcusable Treatment. read more

Went back for some color this time! These people are very talented! Love my color and have reviewed a lot of compliments. Only downside is that my highlights turned a bit orange :( which I hate BUT it's not the stylist as fault, it happens with dark hair. Nice people but seems to always be under-staffed (every appt is "running late") and the whole place needs a refresh. Tired looking: barked up walls, stained and pock-marked floors, dull paint, chairs are in need of re-covering, rugs are old....but it's clean enough I guess. Polishes are very dated (many have dried crusts on them) with rather cheap brands and clearly no "this season" colors. I was here in December and again now in May and the colors haven't changed. Prices are good but it would boost business if they closed for a weekend and did a full refresh on the aesthetics. Then it would feel like a salon and not just a nail place. read more
