DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR BLONDER HAIR! I booked with Ismail and asked for a blonde balayage with money pieces, and this was the result the day after I got my hair done, when I went to put it up in a bun. I've had my hair so many different colors the last 15 years and have never had my hair burned off due to bleach, as you can see at my scalp. I went back to the salon asked for a partial refund due to having to pay to get it fixed, on top of the permanent damage to my hair. I was given $74 cash as my "partial refund". I was told that the burning of my hair was "new growth" despite my scalp/hair being burned. Ismael totally denied any wrong doing. My services were $350+tip over $400. I can't really tell you a lot more about this place other than it's the place I trust on my hair and look for more than 9 years since I lived in the U.S ! One of the very things I was worried about living in a new place was finding a good barber! Also my whole family goes there and everyone has been so happy! Males or Females! I myself use Murat for the 9 years , I explain to him what I need, I used photos sometimes but now he knows what I need without asking! Communication is a key ! Melek, Ismael and Jim are all great! They are also very lovely people, very friendly and very welcoming! Note: it's your hair! If you're a first time client PLEASE make sure you understand each other! Use photos if needed and I promise you will be so happy and will never leave them again! The place is nice and clean and in the beautiful area of Fairfax Corner! After reading so many positive reviews about this salon and specific stylist I had to try for my self - this woman does incredible work & in record time! $300 for a uneven cut (literally just noticed after the "blow out" dropped) a whole different hair color than the reference picture I showed him. AND burn spots from the bleaching. Plopped my hair on top of my head for 30minutes. Even tho I said it was burning really bad, he said it was "normal". ismail, listen to your clients!! extremely disappointed and frustrated . Hair color: The worst!! Ismael left the bleach on my hair for 2 hours and a half! My hair damaged big time that i had to chop it off!!! After bleaching, he tried to fix the color 4 times and couldn't get the color, in the picture i showed him, not even close!! DONT COLOR YOUR HAIR THERE, THEY WILL BURN IT! My boyfriend had an awesome mullet, he was still growing it out but all he wanted was to clean up the sides a little bit and leave the top and obviously the back. This man did not understand yet didn't ask questions so why did he proceed. It took months to grow out that mullet almost a fucking year. If you don't know what your doing, don't proceed ask questions or for a TRANSLATOR! The man also checked his phone mid cut which is very unprofessional. If you want to have some kind of chance of leaving this place with a good cut, make sure you don't get Murat. My boyfriend is such a sweet guy and feels bad speaking up and his heart broke when he felt that snip in the back. Don't come here if you want to go somewhere that will not just understand you but will do what you ask. If I could leave 0 star I would bc this place sucks. read more

I highly recommend Ismail for color. I've been a customer of his for over 3 years and followed him from his last salon. He does an amazing job, and the longer you see him the more depth he can incorporate into your hair color with highlights and lowlights. Ask him for a Turkish coffee or tea while you're there! OMG!!! I cannot put into words how much I love my new hair! Ismail absolutely went above and beyond my expectations. I'm from New Orleans, and have a salon I've been going to for years down there so I was very nervous to try a new place. This is easily my favorite haircut I've ever gotten. Went here based off of all the great reviews and unfortunately my experience wasn't the same. Out of the entire salon the only person who seemed to be friendly was the woman who washed my hair. I had Ismail as my stylist, and when I showed him a detailed video of the exact cut I wanted he barely took note of it and just started. When washing my hair they didn't use any conditioner, so he worked at my thick hair very aggressively with a paddle brush to try and get through it before cutting. For my hair I asked for chin length bangs tapered to long layers in the back, and they were cut separately without blending it into my layers. Before finishing my haircut, another woman walked into the salon and sat in the chair beside me. Ismail said he would be finished in 2 minutes and would be able to help her. He quickly finished my haircut and got another woman to blow dry my hair for me, and she did so without putting any heat protecting spray on it first. After she finished he checked me out, told me the price would be $80 and I asked if that was including the 20% off from Yelp. He told me it would be $72, which is only 10% off. I didn't feel like arguing so I just paid it and left. Overall an unpleasant and unfriendly experience, and I definitely will not be returning. read more

Service was poor, I was not offered a beverage or to hang my coat. I asked if they were busy to highlight this and stated I could come back. I was assured they had time, after cut, I waited 20-30 min to get my hair blowdried after I kept asking for someone as they tried to juggle appointments. The vibe and customer experience is very low class, I had gone here for quick cuts about 4-6 years and this was the level of treatment and care for a returning customer. Over 100 dollars later for an inch trim and dead space of waiting an extra 30 min for a person to blow dry as if I am an inconvenience. I got up to leave, I was completely disgusted with them and I will never return. The cut is uneven. Absolutely disgusted with the "manners" displayed. When I tried to pay the owner didn't believe the card didn't have contactless payment and needed the chip inserted ... my face was beyond... and still charged full price for the extra wasted time, bad cut and completely ruined any self care relaxing vibes. If you want a mullet, ask for Melek! Oh wait...ask for someone else, and they'll still give you a haircut with Melek. I have been to Salon Citi four times. The first and second time, I received haircuts from Ismail. I was really happy with the haircut and vowed to keep returning to the salon. The third time I visited, I booked an appointment with Ismail. When I arrived, I was told Melek would be cutting my hair. I went along with it, assuming they were especially busy that day. I ended up underwhelmed with the end result. It wasn't really what I wanted but it wasn't awful either. I decided I'd stick with Ismail for future appointments. Well, the fourth time I visited, I booked my appointment again with Ismail. When I arrived, I was again told Melek would be cutting my hair. I was not happy, but I went along with it to avoid an uncomfortable situation. I asked Melek to trim my hair to should-length, with layers and sideswept bangs. Nice people but seems to always be under-staffed (every appt is "running late") and the whole place needs a refresh. Tired looking: barked up walls, stained and pock-marked floors, dull paint, chairs are in need of re-covering, rugs are old....but it's clean enough I guess. Polishes are very dated (many have dried crusts on them) with rather cheap brands and clearly no "this season" colors. I was here in December and again now in May and the colors haven't changed. Prices are good but it would boost business if they closed for a weekend and did a full refresh on the aesthetics. Then it would feel like a salon and not just a nail place. read more

Went back for some color this time! These people are very talented! Love my color and have reviewed a lot of compliments. Only downside is that my highlights turned a bit orange :( which I hate BUT it's not the stylist as fault, it happens with dark hair.
