Asked for ashy/mushroom brown balayage and got yellow streaks over black hair. After 4 hours and more coloring/fixing and burning my scalp, a haircut I didn't need (since I had gotten one 5 weeks prior), a blow-dry and 450$ later....I go home to wash it and hope that it will be lighter/less black...couple washes later, still very dark and not what I wanted! Tried it twice but same experience both times. Will find another salon next time. read more

I took my daughter to get her hair done this weekend and it was an absolute disaster. Our stylist, Umit, didn't do AT ALL what we asked him to do. My daughter was interested in covering her roots and have all her hair looking as blond, blended and rich as her ends were (golden blond as you can see in the picture). He first argued with us when we explained it to him saying it wouldn't look good on her and that she should go with a darker tone. We told him that she wanted to get rid of the brown part, so going darker is not what we want. He promised he would do it as we wanted The whole process took 5 hours and the results were awful! Not only was her hair not blond, but it was darker and grayish looking (see pictures). Someone might like this hair color, but it's not at all what we wanted. He first left us to go wash somebody else's hair and left the receptionist talking to us about why this hair was better and that, apparently it'd turn lighters as she washes her hair. I had to ask for him to come talk to us. He was completely dismissive. He said what we had requested couldn't be done and that her hair color was now blond, completely gaslighting us. If anyone thinks my daughter's hair came out blond, please tell me. It's not even close to gold blond as it was in her ends. He refused to do anything to fix it, he was dismissive and rude. We didn't get a refund for their -almost $300 weeks paid either. Now we have to go to a different salon to fix what he messed up, with the risk of damaging my daughter's beautiful hair, just because he did what he wanted to do instead of listening to us, the clients. I decided to try this salon after reading a lot of Google and Yelp reviews. Umit was my stylist and I showed him an inspo photo and he seemed to understand what I wanted. He curled my hair and it was hard to tell what it looked like, but the next day, I washed and dried my hair and the layers were uneven and so choppy. It was hands down the worst cut I've ever had. I've had cuts where a stylist may not have executed per the inspo photo or directions, where I recognized that it was more an issue of preference and I have never complained about a cut before, but this was legitimately a bad haircut and I couldn't let it go. When I went in to the salon to talk to the manager and show them my hair (photos below), they said they did not see the problem with my hair and suggested it was a matter of preference. Though they offered to have someone fix it, because they refused to acknowledge there was a problem, I could not risk letting them touch my hair again. They refused to make it right and refund my money, so I had to go to another salon and spend even more money to make it right. i was looking for a cut to get rid of about 3 inches, and ended up losing about 8 inches of my hair! This cut was $75 plus tip, and as much as I hate to leave a bad review, the cut plus the poor customer service left me no choice. read more

For my first visit, I tried the online appointments, and it didn't work. Then I called and got a message that the voice mail was full. So, I sent an email that I was trying to set up a last-minute appointment for the weekend. A very polite young lady called me back and set up an appointment. When I got there, no one was expecting me, I was squeezed in and only got my grey covered (and planned the highlights for next time). Oh well, these things happen. A week ago, I set an appointment for roots and highlights with Kenen. He did the roots, washed, and fully dried my hair before he came out with a cart of foil and immediately started the highlights. I was shocked because we never discussed the color. I took a deep breath and decided to go with it. When I had already been processing for a good 15 minutes, a bridal party came in to have their hair done. So Kenen just left me there! A few minutes into the brides curls he came over and started to pull the foils off while I was sitting at the mirror and my hair looked almost white! He then let me sit while he continued to curl her hair and add extensions. Long story short, I tried to put on a smile when I left, but I'm sure they could see that I wasn't very happy. During the FOUR HOURS I was there, I wanted to ask if anyone else could finish my hair, but I couldn't lay that guilt trip on the bride sitting next to me. I ended up paying $345 to sit there for 4 hours and have them ruin my t-shirt to boot! read more

This was my second visit to the salon. I returned because I had a positive experience the first time, but unfortunately, this visit did not meet my expectations. Umit called me in late for my perm appointment and dropped several items, including a comb that he picked up and continued using. Both the haircut and perm were disappointing. I asked for changes to the haircut, but even after the adjustments, it was still not to my liking, but was not able to receive further modifications. I had been following in Instagram the work of Ümit at Salon Seville and admiring it. Finally decided to make an appointment and to my surprise they happen to had a same day appointment. First the hair review: he did exactly what I had asked (transitioning from highlights and dry hair closer to my natural hair color -black- but with color volume and variance). I LOVE how it looks; he is an artist, no doubt, and the same with the hair cut (I wanted less layers but still wanted volume). I would recommend him infinite times. I lived in Portland, OR and Seattle, WA, for the past 15 years and had an abundance of high quality stylists, but since moving to NoVA a year ago, I haven't found a single high end salon that has a stylist who can ACTUALLY do hair well. Until today. Salon Seville is located in the Fair Oaks mall next to its "brother" barber location (right next to the lower entrance of Lord and Taylor). If you're thinking, "A high-end salon isn't going to be inside the Fair Oaks Mall!" you're DEAD WRONG. Musa, the owner, is a genius with hair and technique; he moves quick, knows exactly what you're talking about, and takes impeccable care of you and your hair. I went in to have my hair done after, yet another, "high-end salon" in Tyson's did a lack luster job. My husband goes to the barber next door and they always do an amazing job so I took a shot! Musa understood exactly what I wanted. I trusted him immediately. My cut and color are seriously the best I've had!! At this salon you receive a deep conditioning treatment with your color service which left my hair feeling amazingly shiny and healthy. They offer every type of color (single process, balyage, sombre, foil etc) and their products are very nice, and a brand that's pretty rare in salons. Everyone was wonderful, very nice, always asking if I needed anything etc. Prices are the same at any other great salon, but at Salon Seville, you won't be disappointed! Go there! :) read more

2/16/23- My daughter's bangs are all messed up. Vidal the stylist was rushing through her trim because he had bigger jobs. I'm very disappointed! 4/7/23- I took my daughter for a trim and booked to get her highlights for her birthday. The lady at the reception started harassing my 16 year old about the review I wrote above. Their staff starting questioning me that why did I write a bad review instead of apologizing about the bad experience. I am surprised at this unprofessional behavior. My daughter felt so uncomfortable there that she never wants to visit them again. It is so unprofessional to harass their own clients specially minors. If I didn't go with my daughter she would have attacked/harassed a 16 year old kid about the bad review. I have cancelled all appointments with them. There are more professional stylist in DMV area. I found out about this salon through the reviews on Yelp and wanted to give them a chance after looking through pictures of their balayage work. I wanted to go for a smokey ash blonde balayage and came in for a consultation. Musa was so nice and honest. He did a test strip on my black hair to see if my hair would lift to a level 10. I've had my hair bleached/colored before so the ends lifted to a 10, but since it's grown a lot since I've had it super light it did not lift all the way. Rather than lying and saying he could do it (which a few salons I've been to in the past have done and damaged my severely) he recommended that I come back in about 4-5 months when my hair is healthier. I booked a consultation to make sure that what I had in mind would be possible. Vidal (who doesn't speak much English which is fine but they didn't tell me until suddenly the manager started translating) said he could do it. So I made an appointment with him for a few days later. You can see in the picture I included the photos I showed them. I was already brunette and said multiple times that I just didn't want the light to go all the way to the root. Well you can also see in the picture that he basically made me blonde and nothing like what I'd shown or what we discussed. I was so disappointed. I told the manager, "please tell him it's not that it looks bad, it's a very well done balayage, it's just not what I wanted." She was very nice but said "oh I know, we actually hear this a lot." Which makes me think they just don't always listen to what the client wants? Anyway they brought me back in and it came out good (still not quite what I had pictured but it really does look good). I loved the haircut I received and it was exactly what I asked for! But... The only issue was the communication in price for the haircut. I was under the impression that the haircut + blow dry is $60 and just the haircut (no blow dry) was $50.00 (I called ahead and asked). When I went up to pay for my haircut the receptionist told me they changed the pricing and it's $60 with or without the blow dry. I think they should be upfront about the pricing especially since they recently changed it. Also most salons I've been to usually wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner before the haircut but the person who was cutting my hair did not --he only wet my hair with water (so $60 is a bit pricey in my opinion). In the end the receptionist was understanding of the confusion and let me pay the amount I was told on the phone so it was all good but it's a pet peeve of mine when hair salons are not straight forward about the price for the service. Best kept secret in Fairfax. Umit is hands down one of the best stylists I've ever encountered. My hair is super curly and thick, difficult to work with but he handled it beautifully. I was only going in for a bang trim but he noticed my hair was damaged and unevenly cut by someone else. I had been wanting to go to Salon Seville for a while as I had been following their work on Instagram for some time now. I had been wanting to get my hair dyed but had never been to this salon before and didn't know how I would like it so I settled on getting a haircut & blow dry for my first appointment and seeing how I liked the salon experience before scheduling any other services. I booked my appointment online in advance and came into my appointment early. I went to get checked in and they immediately sat me down in the waiting area. The receptionist pulls a lady (my soon to be stylist) over and they are making these hand gestures that made me think that they were gonna take me to the bowls to get washed up. I get up and they immediately panic saying, "no no no no sit down!" I'm confused and the receptionist proceeds to tell me that my stylist would be 10-15 minutes late because they hadn't finished with another client. I was a little irritated but agreed and waited. 20 minutes go by and the receptionist finally checks on my stylist to see if they are ready and shortly get me to the back to get washed up. I wish I had just run at this point because my stylist was anything but gentle the entire appointment. At the wash bowl, she tugged on my hair aggressively and constantly. Afterwards, she gets me into the chair and leaves me there for while. This happened frequently throughout the appointment where my stylist would leave me or would stop working to talk to her colleagues or even take phone calls which delayed the process that much further than it already was. I tried explaining that I wanted a long bob with some layers, which was hard to communicate since the lady I was working with didn't speak English very well. I was able to show a picture which somewhat helped but I had a feeling that what I was requesting wasn't well communicated. As she's cutting my hair, she's continuing to be aggressive and not gentle with my head making constant readjustments. At the end of the cut, there weren't as many layers as I liked but I didn't want to fuss too much. I tried to request cutting my face framing layers a little more to my liking. My stylist flat out shook her head and said no several times and gave no explanation as to why!!! She then proceeded to begin blow drying my hair and asked if I wanted it straight or curly. I ended up asking for curly thinking she would use a curling iron on me as I have very thick hair. NOPE. She then pulls out a round brush that had clearly not been cleaned off from previous clients as it still had a bunch of hair and product all over the bristles! She started to aggressively yank my hair into the round brush and put the blow dryer DIRECTLY onto my scalp. I flinched in pain several times throughout this process in which she would just yank me back to continue drying my hair. She was using such a hot setting on the blow dryer that my hair was smoking the entire time!! She FINALLY finished, sprayed some hairspray and sent me to the receptionist desk for payment. The receptionist said sorry for the delay in my appointment and that she hoped I liked the service but I could barely look her in the eye let alone speak as I was fuming by this point. I paid for my service with a tip and ran out of there as fast as I could. I had never been more miserable throughout a haircut experience in my entire life!!! Not only did my appointment run late due to poor scheduling but I didn't even get the haircut that I asked for and was flat out denied when trying to make a small request during the service! I was scratched, pulled and burned several times throughout the appointment all without my stylist noticing how uncomfortable/in pain I was throughout the entire experience. I regret coming to this salon so much and would never recommend anyone come here!! read more
