Went in for a much needed haircut with Steve and he was so detail oriented and asked questions to make sure he was doing exactly what I wanted (which honestly I didn't even know because I'm not that picky with my hair, haha). I went conservative with the length because I'm going to be in a wedding soon, but he gave me bangs and layers that frame my face and I love the confidence it gave me! This small business is run by Jina and her husband. Conveniently located off off Route 29, the shop's location is close to Centreville and close to home for me. Apple Maps was giving the wrong directions to the shop for my first appointment, and I was so relieved when Jina called me when I started running late to check in and help me navigate to the shop with Google Maps. She was patient, kind, and empathetic to the situation, even though it was no fault of her own. She was still able to fit me in and complete my appointment. I really appreciated that Jina did a full evaluation of my hair and asked me many questions about my hair care routine, what products I like to use, and how I like to style my hair. She was very thorough and kind despite my hair having lots of breakage! The shop was very clean and the employees were kind and efficient. The products he used on our hair also smells good! I also like like how he advised us how to keep our hair healthy. Price is reasonable compared to other salons in this area. Can't wait to go back to color and highlight my hair! Tip: Consider tipping in cash, Venmo, or Zelle because tipping using your credit card is taking away from their tip. I came in to get a haircut and two-tone hair color from Jina, which was about a 4-5 hour process. They offered complimentary snacks/drinks and kept checking on me throughout the process. Bleaching is never good for your hair, but Jina will do her best to reduce the damage while ensuring to achieve the color/cut you want. I've spent most of my life searching for someone who could tame my multiple "cowlicks"! Mind you, I not only presented Steve with my cowlick issue but also lots of graying, color treated hair with crazy waves alternating with straight sections that require longer haircuts, not shorter. He is unfailingly solicitous, and never makes me feel self-conscious, despite my cane. (Handicapped spots right out front and no curb!) In addition, he and his wife installed the COOLEST shampoo chairs and sinks that are spa quality (no more crick in the neck and a scalp massage)! The studio is bright, minimalistic, with no hint of the usual craziness that you see in salons sometimes. I interviewed a number of Centreville stylists before I discovered this young man and his wife. His cuts grow out beautifully even if you can't get in as often as you'd like.
