Pro: -He is extremely talented in what he does. I typically get my hair layered and hate it when the stylist uses razors for the layer, but he actually used scissors, which says a lot about his level of skills. Since moving to VA, I've had to always wait until I went back to NYC to get a trim but I finally have found someone who can cut my hair the way I want it. -Price is decent considering the time he spends. Tried to grow out husband's hair to create a manbun, but after almost 6 months of letting it grow it was so unkempt that I couldn't take it anymore. Took him to Mr. Moon and showed pictures of what I liked, but requested to keep in mind to create a haircut that would suit his headsize and facial features. Mr. Moon delivered, and husband became a human again. :D Not only is Mr. Moon awesome with mens hair, he is very good with women hair too.I had my hair cut short in August, and you know when a stylist is really good when months later hair style still looks good even if hair has grown. Pros -- hair color was absolutely lovely Cons -- charged me $60 additional for extra toner and highlights, which I get since I have long hair, but was still a bit frustrating. Also didn't put any product in my hair so the styling process was pretty uncomfortable. I would recommend calling the salon directly instead of going through groupon -- it sounds like they will honor the groupon price without purchasing through here. I read lots of reviews about this place so decided to give it a try. I'm a natural blond that wanted to go lighter so I spent 3 hours at the salon hoping to achieve a lighter look. I showed the picture of the hair color that I wanted no less than a dozen times to multiple people and was told that it could easily be done. 3 hours later and my hair was darker than when I started and my roots from highlights I got 4 months ago were still blatantly visible. so my appointment was set for 11am on Friday but the weather was horrible and if you're from NOVA then you know what happens to traffic. I arrived 30mins late and was skeptical because the salon is not owned by Moon, it is actually called "Unique Salon" outside. Even though I was tardy, the lady greeted me immediately and washed my hair right away. Moon was so gentle and accommodating. Showed him a picture of the hairstyle and 50mins later, he reproduced it exactly!!!!!! Walked out of the salon extremely satisfied and will definitely be back again! Also for the price in this area, it is very reasonable and he did not charge me for longer hair like most salons do! read more

I went to Mr. Moon to fix a perm that I had gotten done at another salon which I was not happy with. Mr. Moon was able to fix my perm and style/cut to exactly what I had wanted! I've been to other salons and they will just take a glance at the picture of the hairstyle I want and generally just say okay without much thought and the end results never was what I really wanted.
