I highly recommend Ash + Willow for balayage or haircut! Went in with an AWFUL haircut (from another salon) and grown out balayage and Ashley and Tanya fixed me right up. I wanted a warmer balayage for the summer and Ashley worked with me to find a color that would suit my skin tone and give me the desired look I was going for. Ashley's also Tanya's apprentice and I was super impressed with her meticulousness and attention to detail. I have super course dark hair that doesn't lift easily and the whole process took 8 hours but the salon felt comfortable enough that it didn't seem like it was that long. There's Wi-Fi if you need to do some work, and snacks, drinks, coffee etc. it's also super conveniently located by other shops if you need to grab some food. First experience at Ash + Willow was disappointing and fell below my expectations. This salon advertises itself as "luxury experience, laid back vibes." Yes laid back. No to luxury. Service, skill level, and experience fell short. First, Ash + Willow has a strict cancelation policy. From booking to your appointment, you are notified multiple times via email and text that you will be penalized for canceling or rescheduling under 48 hours. I get it, your time is important. But so is mine. I arrived early. No one greeted me so I checked in on my phone and sat down. Eventually, someone informed me that my stylist was running late with another client. It happens. But after 15 minutes, no apologies, it was starting to feel like they were not respecting my time. The website states that new clients will get a "thorough consultation and discuss the process to achieve your hair goal." The stylist asked what I wanted, I explained, showed a photo, and she went straight to work. Meh. After my haircut, she said she would meet me up front to pay. I stayed behind to brush the stray hairs off my face. She never showed me the back of my hair so I strained to see how it looked. I paid. I left. When I got home, I was able to get a better look at the back of my head. Haircut was not a disaster, just not what I asked for. Well, it was nothing like the photo. She did what she wanted...or could do and moved on. Overall, Ash + Willow is not a terrible salon but not a luxury experience either. Customer service, skill level, and experience felt closer to a budget chain salon. Stop, I'm not being mean. I'm just sharing my experience. Haircut was $90. For that price point, I expect a stylist to know what they're doing or at the very least be honest with their ability. We could have discussed other options. In the end, I'm not going to cry over hair, but I'm certainly not recommending this salon for haircuts either. read more

This salon has predatory pricing practices. I was charged $150 more than the quoted amount for a full highlight and color. I've been getting my hair lighted for over eight years, in some of the most expensive cost-of-living cities, and in high end salons. I was quoted $450, after sending them pictures of my current hair, and was charged $600. While paying, I was not given a break down at the counter and I assumed after I left the salon that they made a mistake and did not apply my $100 deposit towards the bill. When I contacted the salon, they stated the $150 was for extra bowls. $150 is more than a third over the quoted amount. In all my years of getting my hair done, I have NEVER been charged that much for extra bowls. I left the salon with warm roots at my hairline which is exactly what I wanted to avoid. When I brought this up to get it fixed, they said their pictures they took (which did not include my hairline) did not look warm, and they will not be fixing it. My stylist, Jenn, either made a mistake with the amount of product she used, or the salon does this on purpose to gouge their customers. I feel taken advantage or, and would never recommended anyone visiting here. read more

First time getting hair extensions and I was super worried because I have fine hair and have read people get headaches from the weight. However they are amazing Tanya did an amazing job it was absolutely painless and other than slight discomfort sleeping the first day i have had no pain and I got a goodie bag. Everything went perfect and was amazing. Also this place is definitely worth the price everything is high quality I had multiple people work on my hair so everything was done fast and efficiently and the customer service was amazing. I went back a few months later for a summer update. I didn't love that a $45 blow dry was added on without my consent (was not done the first time, apparently it only costs more to dry with color not with a cut). You pick each service a la carte and I didn't select that one because it made a partial balayage over $300 with tip. I mentioned this after I saw the receipt via email but no adjustment was made to price. Also, it looks nice, but you really can't tell. I asked for something not too drastic just for more depth and some lighter pieces. So it's definitely a more natural look but I couldn't tell much difference from when I came in and it's just a lot to pay $300 for such a subtle change. read more

Tanya is an amazing hair stylist! I am a new mom and I went to her looking for a hair cut that is low maintenance and easy to style on a daily basis. My hair is fine but heavy and no other hair stylist has cut it so well (and I usually have to pay a pretty penny for a quality cut). I had my hair cut just below my shoulders to a long bob. I absolutely love how she cut it. It looks great every day, and only takes a couple extra minutes after blow drying to style so it looks awesome. She was able even it out so it is balanced on both sides of my head. Since I had it cut a few months ago and the hair cut has grown out well too, which never happens to my hair. It usually grows into a heavy mop, but the way she cut it makes it still look fresh even a few months later. She was so knowledgeable about my hair type and how it grows and falls. I was impressed.
