My stylist, Rovina, and her entire team took the time to listen and work through the correction, and the end result was exactly what I wanted. Everyone who saw my hair the next day raved about it! This salon and its stylists are very capable of handling challenging color corrections--my hair is proof of that. I also want to point out that another client who commented on my experience did not know my situation, what had happened at the previous salon, or the conversations I had with Rovina and her team before and during my appointment. Hair appointments, especially color services, require communication between the client and stylist. I came in knowing what I wanted and provided honest feedback from the beginning and throughout my appointment. My stylist listened, asked questions, and we communicated along the way. If something is a firm "no" or you're uncomfortable with the direction your hair is taking, it's important to speak up so your stylist has an opportunity to adjust. The music playing in the background and the tea provided also made the experience even better. Speak up, be a great client, and communicate openly--they want you to have a great experience, too. As a first-time client, I was very satisfied with my experience, my stylist, and most importantly, my hair. Walked out with short layers all over (front and back) some barely 3 inches from my scalp. When I noted the cut was drastically different than what we had discussed the owner proceeded to gas light me saying she had cut my hair like the pictures. When I disagreed she threw her hand up and walked off saying have a good one. In addition, my hair cut and blow dry took place in piece meal because the owner kept stopping to address/fix issues with a different client's color. Client had asked for blonde highlights with low lights, received grayish blonde highlights, which owner and team was then trying to fix. I am not one to leave reviews but it is going to take months before I can wear my hair down again Just such an awful experience from beginning to end to not speak up!

When I first went to Jorge, I wanted a platinum blonde fauxhawk and he was not satisfied until my color had no hint of copper and the cut was perfect. He spent a ton of extra time and is the first hairdresser I have ever been to that is so enthusiastic and explains the process of why they are using a particular color or technique. I have thick, unruly, red hair. Most hairdressers have a really tough time dealing with my hair because red hair is really difficult to take to blonde (or any color). When I got tired of the fauxhawk and wanted a bold red color, Jorge helped me grow my hair out into a gorgeous bright red stacked bob. I honestly get stopped often by people randomly complimenting my hair. Everybody told me that growing my hair out was going to be terrible because I would have all these awkward stages until my hair was long enough for a bob. But, so far every step of growing my hair out has been awesome. Every single cut Jorge gives me is incredible and he even somehow worked his magic with layering to give the illusion of a bob even when my hair was still too short to be a true bob cut. Also, the day before my wedding I called Jorge in a panic to ask if he could fit me in last minute and touch up my color and he did my color, perfected my cut AND styled my hair. Every appointment with Jorge I have been completely blown away by his skill and enthusiasm. I also love that he is constantly going to classes and learning new techniques. As for the salon, the parking is easy and the salon is quiet and calm. I can't stand when I walk into a salon and the receptionist is dressed in a cheesy skimpy outfit and being fake overly nice while loud club music blasts through the salon. At Perfect endings, the staff is all so sweet and the salon is just super quiet, chill and has a family or almost small town feel to it. You get the sense at Perfect Endings, that some of the clients have been going there for years and now I know why!!!

Sam Sam Sam Sam Sam...... you are the frigging man. Let me tell all of you... Salon Virage is a little secret of amazing delight and sheer aesthetic perfection. Now I am scared to rant and rave about this place because of all of you follow my lead and go in and ASK FOR SAM and all of you get appointments with this magical hair god, then I'll never get in.... But, I'm responsible for giving reviews where and when they are deserved and Sam deserves an amazing review... oh and make sure to tip him like $100 each cut. He is so worth it! Your experience will start with a shampoo which is soothing and relaxing. And just when you though she was done with the wash, the scalp massage starts. After having like at least four head massage climaxes, she concludes with another hot water rinse and then you are off to the chair.... Half dazed from the massage experience. Sam the man takes over. This brother has experienced everything you can imagine or not. Ask him to share a wild story of him on his suburban farm and I assure you, you will love this man! Salon Virage is the absolute BEST. Lauren has been doing my highlights and cuts for years, and even when I think it's impossible, my hair looks even better each time I leave her chair! Seriously, I am always thrilled with the results! Lauren always takes the time to listen to what I want, makes sure she understands the look I'm going for, and then uses her amazing skills and experience to execute that vision perfectly. She is efficient without making you feel rushed and will give you lots of great advice for how to keep your hairstyle looking like you just stepped out of the salon once you get home. The new salon is beyond beautiful and I really love the time I get to spend there with Lauren and the other stylists and staff. They are all super professional but still fun to hang out with. Fadi is amazing. After 31 years, he's the only person who I trust with my hair. I have a ton of hair, and he knows how to cut it, style it, and tell me no when I ask for something that just wont work with my hair. I appreciate his honesty, and he never leaves me feeling anything short of gorgeous. He's super fast, too, which I appreciate. Where my previous hair stylist would take 2 hours for a wash, cut and style (due to my insane amount of hair), I am in and out in an hour with Fadi, with a much better cut & experience. I recently needed a cut and Fadi wasn't available. I was so nervous to see anyone else, but ended up biting the bullet and seeing Sam. Sam did a great job, too! He wasn't as quick as Fadi, but I got a great cut and provided entertaining conversation! I enjoyed my time in his chair. The entire team at Virage is great. Its also in a perfect location so close to 495 and 50, with a starbucks next door! read more

So, I needed to update my last review. I'm currently now pregnant and went in wanting a different look. Of course, I went to see Sam. He explained what we could do and what he recommended best. As I mentioned before, being pregnant and all. I get nauseated, light headed, and extremely uncomfortable easily. Sam was so understanding and patient because I knew I was giving him a hard time. The last time I was there we went with a light tone color. This time we went darker and added some layers in. I walked out looking like a totally different person. I know the ladies can relate especially when you're pregnant and feeling so out of your element. After my visit with Sam, I felt beautiful. Not something I feel a whole lot of when I'm pregnant. Super late about posting a review but about 2 weeks ago, I came in with a goal of getting a new look. My mom is a constant customer at Salon Virage and recommended that I go and ask Hanan to do my hair. Needless to say, my mom was right again! Hanan was super sweet and we spoke about the options I had for either partial highlights or balayage. I went for the balayage and got a reddish/copper tone to go with my brown hair. I was super excited and completely satisfied with the result! Decided against a blow dry or straightening and went with diffusing it instead at the end. My hair is naturally curly and the filter I used does not edit the colors. I took one photo in the shade and one in the sun to show how amazing this color is! Lauren is hands down the most amazing hair stylist and I highly recommend her. I have been a client of hers for almost 15 years and have NEVER been disappointed. I have had several sets of extensions and numerous color treatments over the years. My extensions were incredible and lasted 6 months!! Whenever I leave Virage, I walk away feeling like a rock star! I have also had the pleasure of getting my hair colored and cut by Beth and she is also extremely talented and did a beautiful job on my hair. I would trust and recommend either of them to anyone! Salon Virage is the BEST EVER! No one styles, colors and cuts Hair like Fadi. I have been going to Fadi for over 12 years and will never let anyone else touch my hair even when I was away at school- I drove 4 hours just to see him. He is worth the drive :) I trust him to do whatever he wants to do with my hair and color! The front desk is amazing and is always welcoming and friendly. All the stylist are amazing and do fantastic work. I love my hair each time I walk out of the salon. If I'm having a rough day I just schedule an appointment with Fadi and instantly feel better! This is the first time in my life that I found a stylist to return to every visit. Sam has been doing my hair (cut and color) since July 2015, and I'm so glad that I found him. His prices are reasonable enough that I stopped coloring my roots at home and instead make an appointment with him every month. I even treated myself to some subtle highlights last time, and he did a terrific job. The salon itself if modern, bright, and clean, and the adjustable massage chairs at the shampoo station are a welcome change from the uncomfortable seats you usually find at other salons (especially for those of us who are short!). read more

I am new to the area and tried out this salon because it is close to home. I was so fortunate to have Sam work on my hair. He knew exactly what to do before I even asked. He put in both highlights and lowlights that he suggested for the season and my skin tone. He even removed all of the old brassy colors from my previous stylist. When I am looking for a 5 star individual, I'm looking for a number of factors such as how comfortable they make me feel, their overall work, their dedication, and just their personality. Sam without question shows 5 star quality in all of these factors. He makes you feel very comfortable and tells you exactly what he is going to do with your hair. That eliminates a lot of the fear one may feel when going to a hair salon. Most importantly, he is amazing at what he does! I've been visiting this salon for years after I had a bad haircut from another store. I walked into Salon Virage in tears asking if anyone could help me fix it. I walked out of the hair salon that evening a customer for life. Fadi is my guy. I trust him 100% with my hair. I can walk in name a basic shade of color and cut and leave the rest to him. Meghan is an awesome stylist! I've been going to her for several years now, and she really listens to me and then gives me a color and cut combo that suits me. When COVID hit, it was a long time before I was able to go back, but her cut was so professionally done that it even look terrific growing out, so it lasted me for a long time! But it's not just one person at Salon Virage! I always feel so gorgeous and confident when I leave the salon, and it's because the entire team makes me feel welcome and pampered. I have moved to falls church area from Florida and I have check Yelp for a Salon. Salon Virage was number 1 in the search. I tried it out and had color done on my hair. Sam was the hairstylist that assisted me. I am ecstatic ! He did a fabulous job! He listened to what I needed and was able to give me the outcome that I was expecting! I was told about salon Virage by a few friends so I decided to give it a try. I was recommended to go to Sam. Don't regret it! He's my go to guy for cuts and shape ups. Not only that he's a two in one! After going to him and leaving happy. My wife went to him and for a keratin treatment done, as to the fact her hair is extremely thick and curly. She was very pleased with Sams work! We will forever be clients of Sam. How could we possibly as for better or more ! I find it difficult to try new salons and hairdressers but I knew it was time for a change.... I found Virage listed as one of the best in DC and decided to give it a try. More specifically, I decided to give Fadi a try. He did great. I walked in and Fadi swept me off my feet with a modern cut and color. I told him what I was looking for and he adapted my wishes to my personality and the amount of time I wanted to spend prepping my hair every morning. I can't wait to go back! I'm not usually one to write reviews and certainly not negative ones, but I have never had an experience this bad at a salon. I went in for a simple bang trim with Mona. Rather than follow my current style, she completely butchered my bangs--not only changing the style entirely, but I now have to wear them pinned back because they look so awful. The only reason I gave two stars rather than the one star these tragic bangs deserve is because of the excellent customer service provided by the receptionist. read more

Lauren is incredible! I had never had a stylist that I went to exclusively in the past. A girlfriend of mine who consistently has great hair kept telling me I needed to make an appointment with Lauren. Once I did, I was hooked! She does a great job pinpointing what you want and discussing what will work well with your hair. She works quickly, so there's no sitting in the chair for hours and hours. She reached out to me via DM and offered to help me with my hair-mergency. I previously went to a salon in Falls Church where my hair was cut unevenly(one side longer than the other/thinner than the other), severely thinned out at the bottom and given choppy "layers"(if you could even call them that. Initially I wasn't able to tell walking out of the salon due to the way the stylist had blew out my hair - it was only when I washed it for the first time that I noticed it. I was too embarrassed to even take photos of my hair and tried to hide it the best I could by curling it again for work. Julie did an amazing job saving what she could of my hair. She evened out the bottom as best as it could be (there is still some thinness/patchiness just due to the previous stylist) but I couldn't be more grateful for her time and work. If you're ever in need of a great service, I highly recommend seeing Julie and taking advantage of her 20+ years of knowledge/experience.

I also asked for curtain bangs, and she made sure the bangs were a good length that I liked. She also styled my hair, and took her time making my bangs look nice. I appreciated the small details and personal touches! The hair wash was nice and relaxing. They combed the tangles out of my hair in the sink area and overall, the wash, cut and style did not take very long compared to other salons I have been previously. She's awesome. She's also one of TWO professionals to EVER cut my hair to my specified length. Just a blunt cut across and no one else manages it. So I was very pleased and she will be who I use for all my subsequent haircuts. The color test (for green) was beautiful, but not as dark as I wanted. Second visit I had Rebecca do what was kind of a balayage going from natural black (slightly darker than my dark brown) to green. I wanna say she NAILED that natural black. My coworkers and my own mother couldn't tell that part of my hair was dyed. It's perfect. It's SO EASY to do a ridiculous and unnatural black but my MOTHER didn't know it was dyed. I asked to remove the little warmth in my dark brown and she did. So yeah. Nailed it. The green was where we had problems. I should've just stuck to the test color and not agreed to have her add things to darken it. Because what I got was not the vibrant green from the test, but a pale teal. I... hated it. Legit this color was the PRECISE COLOR that I wanted to avoid. It's the color I showed my friends that I didn't want. And I told her how much I hated everything about that color, because what was I supposed to do? Lie and say I loved it? The color was so awful to me I was actually embarrassed by it. And the black dye left a large and obvious mark along my hairline where it sat on my skin. But that came off after I bought some Neutrogena makeup removing wipes. Maybe get some wipes at the salon? They couldn't remove the stain on my skin so I had to make a CVS run on the way home. HOWEVER, the actual balayage job was done really well. The salon was very receptive to later adjusting the color. Rebecca is really nice and I felt bad that I just hated it SO MUCH that I couldn't say anything positive in the moment, with all my excitement extinguished. She's a professional. She wanted me to love my hair. She was willing to make it right. But I literally can't go back to the salon right now because of work scheduling. For three months I can't be there during their operating hours. So I went and got my teenage angst hair color product, Manic Panic, and dyed green over the teal. My hair. Is amazing. Not the color I wanted (still too bright) but amazing. It would NOT be amazing without Rebecca setting the foundation and doing such a good job with the specific balayage fade I asked for. Honestly my hair only looks like I wanted it to because of her work. There's no way in hell I could've bleached my hair correctly or even gotten the black dye on right. The color is great because of her. Not me. Even if she nailed the green I wanted at some point it would fade and need refreshing. All I did was refresh it to a much closer approximation to the color I wanted, 48 hours after my appointment. I stick by my comments about how much I hated my hair color when she was done. But I'd go back to her in the future AND I'd recommend her to others. She's good at her job. This one color got away from her. No one's infallible. Just maybe, if you're doing a wacky color, keep to whatever color you got on the test strip and don't adjust on the fly. I'm 100% sure if we stuck to the test color I'd have left happy. And my coworkers who thought I got scammed when I showed up with teal hair? Now that my hair is vibrant green even they're admitting that Rebecca is skilled. Like. Yeah. Duh. Credit where credit is due. If you want a really well done color? I say book an appointment with her. Maybe bring some face wipes just in case.

The first time I went to the salon, I felt like I was in an "emergency" hair situation. My hair was streaked with fire engine red highlights from another salon on top of a fresh keratin treatment. Keyanna advised me that I must wait to get the color fixed because I just received a keratin treatment. But, she saved me temporarily! She told me to buy a certain hair root spray to cover up the red until she could fix it without damaging my hair. During the next appointment, she made my hair look beautiful, just like I imagined. I asked for black hair with dark purple face framing highlights, with a few peekaboo streaks added at the back of my hair. The colors turned out lovely. For my third visit, I decided to just keep it simple with black hair. However, the purple highlights still peaked through later on and still looked lovely. I highly recommend scheduling with Keyanna!!! She's magical with hair! Also, she gave me some free hair shampoo and conditioner samples (: (: (:

The exact same thing happened today with a perm, even after my appointment was confirmed that she can do it, while I was forgot the name of the salon that this was the one i had not good experience with but next time I'll definitely remember to not bother myself book appointment with them! If you cannot provide a service, please do not confirm the appointment. Customers' time is valuable, and it's frustrating to make a long trip only to be turned away.

It was important for me to love it because there was going to be a professional photographer there and these are photos I would remember forever. My appt was at 9am and I was out of there by 10am. It's exactly what I wanted and the stylist was very, very friendly. She listened to everything I was saying and knew how important the day was for me. My hair held up the entire day especially since there was a big rain storm and my hair can get frizzy pretty easily. This location will be decommissioned soon though as they are moving up to Annandale. I don't doubt the service will be great at the new location as well! Will definitely return.
