Salon Circa is an incredible experience and it is home to my favorite stylist James Thomas! I have been going to James Thomas for 6+ years. In those years he has perfected my blonde hair through foils making it look extremely natural! I always had a fear of getting blonder and the grow out being unbearable, James foils my hair in such a pattern that the grow out is barely noticeable for months! I also naturally have curly/wavy hair, he is the only stylist I have ever had that knew how to properly layer my hair without using a razor to thin out my extremely thick hair! I have been through many hair styles throughout the years with him as well; from the basic 90's side sweep bangs, full on front bangs with long layers, to simply properly layered perfect waves. I have brought him new clients throughout the years that have stuck with him after just one visit! This salon is extremely nice, yet also feels like a home. They offer drinks as soon as you walk in the door along with a robe to change into so your clothes are safe. I have also gone to James for special events including prom for myself way back when and my sisters wedding just recently. The staff will come to your site fully equipped and ready to make you feel like a princess on your special day! I have been going to see Drew for about a year now and he has literally changed my life - inside and out. He was recommended by a very good friend that has been seeing him for 4+ years and absolutely raves about him all the time. The first time I went, I shamefully walked through the doors after a horrible experience at a hair party and I knew instantly that Drew was going to take care of me. He truly cared about helping me feel better about myself (and my poor hair decisions) and has transformed me into a confident red head that gets compliments everyday on my hair. He warned me that to fix the horrible magenta color that was forced upon me at the hair party, it would take time & patience because he didn't want to damage my hair. It has been almost a year and I have the perfect color. Drew is a very talented man and I look forward to my salon visits because I know i'll leave feeling great about my hair and gain new knowledge about how to take care of it better (product, maintenance, etc). DREW IS THE MAN! Drew has been my stylist for about 8 years now and he ALWAYS does a wonderful job. We've tried different things over the years, from very short to shoulder-length cuts and the cuts always look great. Because I'm not the most decisive about what to do with my hair, what will help it to grow out, etc., I appreciate that he provides guidance and an educated opinion; based on my hair's thickness, curl, and the amount of effort (minimal) that I want to to put into styling each morning. The coloring (partial foil highlights) looks excellent and I only have color done 2x/year because they are so blended and grow out nicely. I also appreciate that he does a great job of thinning my incredibly thick head of hair out. I am also not always diligent about returning promptly for my next hair cut and he styles it in such a way that it can grow out and look good for several months. The experience at Salon Circa is very pleasant, but Drew is the reason to go there. It also doesn't hurt that he is fun to chat with and our appointments fly by as if I were at happy hour with a friend. read more

Go see Julee for your waxing, spa and nail needs!!! I have been going to Julee for over 3 years now for waxing, the occasional facial, and to get my nails done before a night out on the town. She has such a great gentle demeanor, calming attitude that really makes the experience great. Her eyebrow shaping and waxing is always excellent due to her 25+ years in the beauty care industry. She offers all types of services, and is always professional and very thorough. I have sent my mom and other friends to see her and no one is ever disappointed. I would highly recommend her to anyone in the downtown area that needs a little touch up now and then. Salon Circa is in a great location in the heart of Downtown close to several business and shopping. They are open on Saturdays too so sometimes I make a day of it in the city. Drew has taken care of me for over 10 years and has brought my hair from a total mess to manageable & really healthy. i was referred to Emmanuel by a friend who loves his haircuts and his colors - he worked magic on my hair! i wanted a tint of red, and he mastered exactly what i had asked him to do. He thinned my huge curly mushroom cloud of a head to take shape and my friends and co workers all couldn't stop talking about how great i looked. so i went back to him a few more times. each time we had fun, the shampoo massage is to die for, and each time, he knows what looks good, and he goes for it. my hair style is now hip, makes me look thinner, and is a clean cut for a girl who's hair used to look very sloppy. he got to know me a little and styled my hair to what he thought would work with my head habits, keeping the sexy parts but adding a twist. he's hilarious, so incredibly sweet, and a joy to be around, as a plus. Michael: What can I say? I would (and have) followed Michael wherever he goes in his styling career. No, I am not a stalker. I am a very satisfied customer who doesn't have the patience to spend hours in front of the mirror every morning trying to make my hair look good. Thanks to Michael and his magical shears, I don't have to. He always gives me a precise, fuss-free cut that looks perfect. Both friends and strangers have asked me who cuts my hair and I always give Michael my highest endorsement. It has been more than a week since my visit to Salon Circa, and I am still as enthusiastically happy about it as I was when I left the salon. I found Salon Circa through Yelp and have to say that the comments were dead on! A few months ago I permed my hair somewhere else, and although the perm was successful, it was still not what I had hoped for. James not only gave me a haircut that brought-out and show-cased the curls, but he also took the time to show me how to style my hair to get the results I want. He was friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. He explained what he was doing and why so that I would better understand what works for my hair type. If you are frustrated with a perm, or looking for a "new do" that flatters you or finally want to achieve the look you've been trying to get, I would 100% recommend James! read more

I have been using Julee Jackson as my pedicurist, manicurist, brow tint expert and for facials for many years now. She was originally trained by Elizabeth Arden, and worked at Frederick and Nelson when they had a very fancy EA spa. She really knows her stuff, runs a spotless business, and is efficient and friendly and gives you her full attention. Salon Circa now has a buzzer system to let you into their lobby, and then you just take the elevator to the 5th floor. Though we would all like things to be better for the homeless, there are obvious sanitary reasons why there have to be restrictions for who can use the building. It will not inconvenience you, and you'll find many other businesses that are not on the ground floor of a building are employing the same methods. Under Randy Evans supervision, Theresa Bloomberg cut my hair on Sep 19th . This is the best hair cut that I have had so far. Randy Evans is so professional and he guided Teresa step by step amazing. I am an Asian woman and my fair is soft and flat. Theresa did a terrific job so I do not have to blow my hair in the morning and my hair still looks great. I remember how Randy "diagnosed" my hair and the shape of my hair. He told Teresa that she needed to include all the factors when cutting hair. I called for an appointment, first available, and was told that James was available. I grabbed the appointment. The salon is beautiful and the location very convenient for me. James is a true professional and made me feel comfortable immediately. I have unruly hair - cowlicks, starting to gray, waves, etc. He asked me about my hair "history" and want I wanted to achieve. He made a couple of suggestions and then we went off to wash my hair. We talked and he cut, taking his time, and explaining what he was going to do. The end results were stunning. Drew Teal is AMAZING! I've been going to see him since I was a freshman in college, which is 9 years! Every time I go to see him, he always asks me what look I want and he always gives me a style that makes me feel so beautiful. I've done many different looks - from side bangs with long, wavy curls, to short Rhianna-style bob. I have curly hair and many stylists do not know how to cut it correctly so that it styles well, has enough body and grows out nicely in between cuts. When I was living abroad for two years, I would schedule my hair appointments with Drew when I would be in town because I didn't want anyone else to touch my hair. I've been coming to Salon Circa ever since my stylist, Drew, moved there. April is fantastic, and always helpful. Very comfortable environment. Of course, the reason I come here is Drew. He's been styling my hair for over 9 years, and I don't trust anyone else to touch it! He always knows exactly how to cut it, even if I have no idea what I want. He knows my hair and how to work with it, especially how it will grow out if I can't come in for a trim. I recently moved out of state, but am traveling back to have him cut my hair. I have been getting my hair done by stylist Drew Teal for several years now. I have followed him to Salon Circa, which is by far the best salon he's ever worked at! It's so nice there. I would not let anyone else touch my hair, period. Drew has a special way of giving you the best hair for you and he's always honest about what's best for your hair type and condition. I've been bleached blonde to black and back with Drew and my hair remains pretty healthy for all the abuse and color. I read some of the other reviews and Drew IS a 5 star person as well! I've been seeing Tina for almost 12 years now and I can't say enough about her professionalism, her vision and her kindness. She truly is an expert at what she does and is always challenging herself to learn more and ensure her clients are getting the best. I can't tell you how many times I've been stopped on the street by strangers literally around the world with compliments about my hair. Tina will make you feel like a million bucks and look like it too. Salon Circa is a great space with a good view of 4th ave. Professional- Proficient- Pampering This salon is wonderful. I was feeling a bit bar coded as well as ripped off at my prior salon- so I decided to end the 6 year relationship and try a new salon. After a bit of research I called Salon Circa and got an appointment with Gary. Oh My Goodness- Gary asks you what you want to do with your hair- not just for the immediate appointment but for the next few appointments- then he tells you what would work given your face shape, lifestyle and current trends. I have had bad experiences at Salon Circa with Randy and his color assistants. He used to cut my hair, and was also in charge of coloring it. His color "assistants" are always in-training, thus not very experienced. Numerous times I have had to go back for either a re-cut or a re-color. The work is sloppy and extremely inconsistent. Unfortunately, co-owners Leslie and Gary do not guarantee the quality of work done by their employees. I was harrassed by phone calls from Gary after I requested a re-color - after Randy had already agreed to take care of it. I will never go to Salon Circa again. Buyer beware! read more

Love love love the hair that Randy Evans creates for me and now my friends...and now the models for my photo shoots. I'm so grateful to have crossed paths with this talent. He cuts and colors my tresses...every time I leave I have swagger and feel like a rock star. I am also a photographer, very visually driven and just finished a photo shoot with two beautiful models who's hair was styled by Randy all day long.
