The Lab Salon was on my way from my house to the Prado, and I decided one day to stop in to see what they could do for my big day. Wesley introduced himself as a makeup artist, I liked the place, he was extremely friendly, and so I booked a consult for the week before the big day. I recommend getting a consult before your actual wedding day. During our consult, we found that I wanted a few things done differently for the big day (lighter foundation, different color eyelids..) The day of the wedding he made it into the salon dark and early at 6AM to meet me for my afternoon wedding. He got to work.. and he didn't stop working till I looked perfect. I have never felt so beautiful in my life. I walked out almost wanting to cry because I looked so great! He is truly an artist, and you will feel like a canvas being painted on. You will feel him add small brush strokes to your face that seem so insignificant, but its that detail which makes the end result so stunning. He is a perfectionist, and will do your makeup with extreme mastery. His products are clean and sanitary, of good quality (Mac mostly), and of variety. He will make you look like you, but better and fitting for your big day. In photographs, the make up looked stunning, no touch ups had to be done in my pictures. He uses false eye lashes (if you've never worn them before, don't fear!), I could never feel that they were on my eyes (that was a first). The next morning I woke up, and my make up was still perfectly in place. I had to scrub very hard to get the make up off!!! Even when I started bauling, no one knew, nothing on my face changed. I didn't feel overdone, or like I had cake on my face. It felt light (for a full face of makeup) and looked great throughout the whole day. He will make you look beautiful, and he's a pretty funny guy to talk to as well. I highly recommend Wesley Dors for your makeup artist for any occassion.

He made sure my hair would have bounce and lift without it being too prone to frizz and fly aways. He cut my son, yet expected and received full payment for poor service, his customer service...he has no customer service skills. Next year, when my son returns, I will NOT suggest this establishment, nor will I will encourage him nor any of his eight brothers, to patronize this business. I kept hoping that one day I could find a dye that was organic and vegan and made from the most natural ingredients possible. In my search for such a dye I came across the Natulique line of products. I was very happy and impressed to read their story and check out their dyes and other hair care products. The ingredients are as healthy and natural as possible and the philosophy of the company aligns with my values of health, sustainability, and environmentalism. Of course I was intrigued and I searched for a salon near me that uses Natulique. Luckily for me I found Dane Styles salon. There are not that many salons in the USA that use or sell Natulique products so fortunately Dane Styles is in the Puget Sound. The salon is about 1 1/2 hours from my home but I was willing to make the trip for the exciting opportunity to finally dye my hair with a product that's actually good for my hair! I called Dane Styles and spoke with the owner Lone (pronounced Loh-Na). She's originally from Denmark (hence the reason the salon is called Dane Styles). Lone was very friendly and warm and I made an appointment with her to dye my hair. I arrived and I immediately felt comfy and cozy. The salon has a cute vibe with art on the walls and soothing music playing. I showed Lone a picture of the style I wanted: Blonde bangs with the rest of the hair a reddish brown. Lone worked her magic and mixed up some shades that replicated what I wanted. As she dyed my hair we chatted away. As I mentioned earlier Lone is very friendly and warm. I felt very cozy and at home talking to her. While the dye was setting in I strolled around the salon and Lone gave me a grand tour. She showed me the bins where all of the waste products are tossed. So many things that I thought would go to the landfill can actually be recycled. Lone explained how she works with companies that recycle everything from used foil strips to soiled paper to hair. It all gets recycled! Lone also explained that some of the bottles she uses for products are recycled from plastic recovered from the oceans. That is so cool! I love her commitment to sustainability and using products that are as healthy and organic as possible. There is a Danish phenomenon known as "hygge". It roughly translates to a feeling of coziness and comfort from simple everyday pleasures. Dane Styles certainly embodies this wonderful state of mind and spirituality. I just loved everything I heard and saw at her salon. Ok, so wrapping this up: The dye had set and my hair was washed using Natulique product (got a nice scalp massage in the process, ahhhhh). After my hair was dried the moment of truth arrived and I saw myself. OMG! She got my hair to dye the shades I wanted. It looked so pretty! Then as a final lovely touch she styled and curled my hair. Dane Styles also sells Natulique products so I bought a bottle of shampoo and conditioner. My hair unfortunately has a tendency to be dry and frizzy but it feels so nice and soft now! I absolutely love Natulique products and I am a loyal lifelong customer now and I will sing Natulique's and Dane Style's praises to anyone who will listen. If you care about putting the healthiest and most ethical product on your hair you need to research Natulique. After you read up on them I know you will also become a convert.
