I went back for a fill, but she charged me the same price as the full set. I didn't get it. I must have bumped my pinky while I was there, because I got home and noticed a big dent in a nail. I called to see if she would offer to fix it, but no. She just said, try buffing it out... that didn't help much. So there I am, having paid $60 for nails with a big dent in one of them. She was really nice and I think she's probably one of the most skilled nail techs I've ever met, but I just thought she was unprofessional. She didn't fix the dent, and when I needed a fill while she was on vacation, she told me to "just go to Gene Juarez and get a clear fill". Which would have been OK if she hadn't removed the gels that Gene Juarez had done for me! She'd criticized their gel product and redid mine (charged for a full new set). I really wish she had referred me to a friend or someone that used the same products, at least. I had to cancel an appointment at the last minute (12 hours prior) once, when I had to take a trip to Oregon to pick up a pet. I called to apologize profusely, but she was pretty curt. She may have thought I was rude, but there wasn't much I could do about it. It's unfortunate--I felt like I was getting dissed, even though I had tipped her well, and treated her with a great deal of respect. I guess I'm just disappointed that the attitude wasn't reciprocated, and that my business was not appreciated.

Located in the Redmond Town Center, this Gene Juarez salon is easy to find with plenty of parking in the shopping center lot right outside its entrance. Since I visit the Bellevue location, I've seen Gene Juarez go through its renovation and more updated salon space. However, at this Redmond one, this was not the case here. It's still very much the same Gene Juarez with the brown and taupe aesthetics. And unlike its Bellevue location, they had free Seattle Chocolates truffles for guests! I had an all over color with partial highlights and the stylist I saw was able to look up my file and easily replicate what was done before. She was super friendly and fun to chat with and I would happily see her again, especially since I'm in the area a lot. Gene Juarez never fails and this is very much the case at this Redmond location. Staff was friendly. Booking was easy. And the location is convenient. You can't go wrong here.

In my head I always wanted the color to be more of an icy or ashy platinum blonde, not white, not yellow. Cindy was AMAZING with how gentle she was with my sensitive head and very detailed/specific with my color, checking very methodically as I was under the dryer. She styled it great and toned it to the shade I just wanted! I love the salon too, they have great coffee, a nice calm atmosphere, good music and everyone seems to enjoy being there. I wrote such a detailed post as I feel the experience is just as important as the product/result and I've gone to Gene Juarez and "The Shop" (right around the corner... they are talented, but the atmosphere is chaotic and the receptionist always has a bit of an attitude) for YEARS to only have mediocre experiences. I booked this hair and makeup artist last year for my August 2026 wedding and paid a deposit to secure my date. Everything seemed fine at the time of booking, but when I reached out in January to schedule my trial, I received no response. I followed up multiple times over the course of four months via email, text, and phone calls--ignored every time. My wedding planner also attempted to contact her on my behalf, with no success. At this point, it is clear this is not a case of a missed message or temporary delay--Yessie ghosted me as a client. Because of this, I was forced to find and book a new hair and makeup artist under time pressure, adding unnecessary stress during what is already a busy planning period. To make matters worse, I never received my deposit back. For other future brides out there, please do not let Yessie scam you. Taking a client's deposit and then completely disappearing without any communication or services rendered is unacceptable.
