Been a long-time customer of Kim's. Quality of work is there. Attention to detail is there. But something bizarre has been happening lately (last year). The only time available is when it suits Kim, not me, the client. Perhaps it is a good thing for Kim, as she has become VERY busy with clients. Perhaps she can dictate to her clients when she is available and when not. Fair game, so to say. But methinks, it is time to find "greener fields" with someone who does not overbook her/his clients. Too many times I had to wait for her to finish working on someone's hair coloring, so she could "squeeze" me in. Almost every time (for the last year) I had been late for my business meetings (at MS) because quick hair-do has been taking way too much time out of my day. Tired of coming-up with excuses during the day being late for meetings. How can I tell them that I have been "squeezed in" again by my hair stylist? I wish her all the best, but need to focus on my needs vs. her schedule and availability. Word of advice to Kim - keep the old customers happy. That is your "core" that follows you. Be considered to their needs. Perhaps to open business on weekends. Or simply hire staff to help you with such inflow of new clients?.. Sad to leave. My daughter and I have been seeing Kim for the past three years. She was originally at Salon Allure just down the block, but since October of last year she opened Shear Bliss and we followed her there. Kim is an excellent hairstylist and color specialist. She is always courteous and makes you feel like you are in good hands. She is open to hearing how you want your hair done and knows exactly what you're looking for and voila! she does it! My 12 year old daughter refuses to go to anyone else. One thing I do admire about Kim is that she will always be honest with you if she feels that you are suggesting a style, color or process that she thinks will not be flattering to you. Kim is awesome. She always finds a way to fit me in even though her schedule is full. Most importantly, she always gives me a great cut. I have had two other stylists over the last ten years - Kim's prices are well within market - in fact I keep telling her she's too cheap! My wife goes there for color treatment and a cut and has been for five years - We've never had any problems or issues and my wife is always happy. Horrible. I asked her to frame by face and all she did was reduce the length and give my hair the old fashioned triangle look. When I questioned her she told me it would be frizzy so she leveled and unlayered. I have an extra long face and no one has ever made my hair look so bad before. I have been going to Kim for almost four years now. Kim is a small business owner who prides herself on a great product. Kim charges a very fair, if not wonderful price for all styles of hair. Furthermore, Kim works very hard to squeeze me in if I call for a last minute haircut. I have recommended a few of my co-workers (men) to her for mid day hair cuts and they are all repeat customers. My wife also goes to shear bliss and comes home looking amazing! I know lots of women that spend well over $200 for a cut/color/style, but my wife's bill comes in well under $200. Best hair salon I've ever gone to! Prices are decent for haircut($40 and up for women). She spends a lot of time on your hair and gives really great opinions about what styles would look good on you. She is very thorough when doing your hair and it feels really nice and smooth afterwards. She is very gentle with your hair unlike some other salons. I went to Shear Bliss hair salon. Kim was my hairdresser. I've never had anyone take the time to "get to know" my hair like she did. My hair is now short. However, the difference this time is that it doesn't puff out like a poodle. She took the time to make sure it looked stylish AND more importantly, that I liked it.
