Words can't fully describe the despair I felt leaving that salon. They didn't listen to my requests--instead, they told me what I should want. When I said no and explained what I actually wanted, the stylist, Gary, eventually agreed but proceeded to do what *he* wanted anyway. Here's what happened: 1. Neglect: I was left alone with bleach in my hair for 1.5 hours, and Gary didn't check the foils even once during that time. 2. Unapproved haircut: I asked for a 2-inch trim, but he cut off 6 inches without asking. I was trying to grow my hair out, and now it's all gone. 3. Uneven haircut:The cut is uneven all around. 4. Uneven color: My hair has blotches of platinum, yellow, and my natural color where he didn't bleach at all. 5. Ignored requests: He ignored everything I asked for. He was juggling three clients at once, leaving each of us alone for 30+ minutes. Everyone left with yellow or uneven hair but was forced to pay full price. 6. Stylist consultations:I consulted with three different salons after my visit to Mirage. Every stylist was baffled by Gary's work. They explained that any professional should be able to lift virgin hair evenly, but he didn't. 7. Forced payment & pressure:I was forced to pay $245.66 for a disaster. Gary was incredibly mean and pressured me to say I liked it. 8. Unkind treatment: I begged not to have to pay. I've never encountered such unprofessional and unkind behavior in a salon. The relationship between a stylist and client is sacred. We trust you to with our hair and believe you want the best for us. He didn't care at all. I was so saddened by his behavior and my hair. I cried all night after leaving. ): 9. Owner's response:When I reached out to the owner, she dismissed me, essentially saying, "tough luck." I ended up spending $500 at another salon to fix the damage. I can't even bring myself to share photos--it's too humiliating. Located in the Redmond Town Center, this Gene Juarez salon is easy to find with plenty of parking in the shopping center lot right outside its entrance. Since I visit the Bellevue location, I've seen Gene Juarez go through its renovation and more updated salon space. However, at this Redmond one, this was not the case here. It's still very much the same Gene Juarez with the brown and taupe aesthetics. And unlike its Bellevue location, they had free Seattle Chocolates truffles for guests! I had an all over color with partial highlights and the stylist I saw was able to look up my file and easily replicate what was done before. She was super friendly and fun to chat with and I would happily see her again, especially since I'm in the area a lot. Gene Juarez never fails and this is very much the case at this Redmond location. Staff was friendly. Booking was easy. And the location is convenient. You can't go wrong here.

First, the actual price when I went to pay was more than what it said on the website and what it said at the time of the booking. I was surprised that the haircut itself only took about 10 minutes, and I am not sure if the length was checked. Once I washed my hair (a couple of days later) and it was straight again, I noticed that the left side was shorter than the right and reached out to the stylist. The stylist said she would just round out the right side to match the left. I mentioned that I wanted to grow out the left side a bit before having corrections made because I didn't want any more length taken off. She said that that would count as a whole new haircut. Since I just paid for one, I didn't think that "solution" was reasonable at all.
