Pretty disappointed with my haircut today. The layers are too short and uneven -- it looks kind of like a bad rendition of 90s Jennifer Aniston. It was my first time seeing Farzy, and she's a really nice lady but other reviewers were right about squeezing clients into the schedule. I finally found my haircutter of whom I've been a client for 4 years. I had not gone to her since last December of 2005. She had been on a medical hiatus and had finally opened her own store, Farzy Cuts, 8 months afterwards in Redmond. Farzy was really happy to see me. She told one of the patrons waiting for her cut that I was one of her favourite clients. Haha! You can tell she was very happy to have her own space, her "home away from home" as she aptly calls it. She is a pro for sure. And the price for her skill level is pretty fair I think. $25~$26 and $32 after the tip. That is why I kept using her service for 3 years. The first hair cut was so amazing I still remember the fresh look. But I ended up deciding to try somewhere else because: 1. She tried to squeeze as many people as possible into her schedule. Not everyone came on time and not everyone was finished in time. So, I waited and the time spent on me was cut. Here is one of my experiences: A man came in with his son while I was getting my hair cut. They came on time, I came on time, but you know, she did not start mine on time because of the piled-up work. The son was pretty fussy, he shouted out to her and want her to be quick. Clearly it is a hard situation for her and one side needs to be sacrificed. Okay...my hair cut was done not carefully in less then 15 mins. 2. One time I was slightly late. The customer next to me came in. She said sorry to that customer and said because I came late that is why he had to wait. 3. She lied to me about the available time slot. I asked for a early time slot but she said she did not work. When I came that day, she was working. OKay.. fine. 4. She charged me several dollars more because that time I did not re-cut my hair in a certain period of time. What the heck is that rule? Fine, bye bye, never see you again. read more

It was Dec 31st and I needed a haircut desperately for the New Year's Eve. I wasn't sure if Farzy would be open this day, but I was able to get an appointment on the same day. I have been told it is very rare that you get an appointment within minutes of calling. Despite her plans to leave early, she agreed to give me a haircut and I'm glad she did. She is a very sweet lady who pays attention to your needs and recommends the best look for your hair type and texture. Definitely not like other chain salons who have set rules on how to cut hair. I don't like to get into formal small talk routine with the stylist, but Farzy was a great conversationalist who transformed my hair without my knowledge. She also took few extra minutes to show me different styling options with my hair. There is absolutely no product push here. I left with a happy haircut and would love to see her again. read more

We( both me and my husband ) went for a haircut in Farzy cuts after seeing all the amazing reviews about her . Well , we were not disappointed, she did a great job of hair styling . Not only that she was very warm and welcoming Also she was following all the covid protocols and only we were ther at the salon during our appointment time . I am 51 years old and have had hundreds of hair cuts. I have found several very well educated stylists and have had many great cuts, as well as not so great cuts. In all this time though, I have only found 3 people who not only have great skill, they have true artistic talent. I don't think this talent can be taught, it is inherent. Farzy is one of those 3. This artistic talent truly sets her far ahead of the very good. She is great. Farzy takes into consideration first, my idea of what I want, then my hair type and unique character, my facial structure, ease of styling, and even my height. She communicates back to me what I want and what she see's. We then work together on the best plan. She doesn't try to force a style onto a head of hair that isn't up to it... how many times have I had a stylist try to tame my untamable cowlick...? She roots out the beautiful nature of my own unique head of hair and sculpts it, observing it's own innate characteristics. I seldom if ever write reviews, even though I often intend to. After my haircut with Farzy today though, I wanted to share her with everybody I know! The recommendation fell flat with my husband though, he's bald :) He does love my new hair and he usually doesn't comment on that sort of thing. Farzy has strict Covid rules and follows the guidelines very well. Aside from her being super talented, she has the most delightfully sparky and playful nature about her. For instance, when I asked what country she came from, she said she wouldn't tell me. I had to guess in 5 questions but, she would give me hints. :) She not only made my time with her fun, she made it educational as well. I enjoyed every minute of my visit. I have had my hair cut dozens of times by Farzy when she was at SuperCuts in Redmond, and finally, finally, she has opened her own shop! And she is my all-time favorite barber!!! She is funny, sweet, and extremely good at what she does. She works fast but it always comes out right. This is a good deal too, with prices in the teens. I have a fairly conservative short men's haircut, so can't provide testimonial on colors or long hair. But I bet she's good. The facility is cute, modern, middle-Eastern themed I'd guess. She often has fresh-brewed tea available if that's your thing. There is a cute little airplane to sit in for kids cuts. Farzy is the only cutter here right now, not sure if that will change. Overall: Fantastic! I used to have my hair trimmed every 8-10 weeks. My stylist knew that I wanted the minimum amount taken off because I was growing my hair. About 18 months ago, he disappeared and despite trying many new stylists, none of them were the same. They either hacked away at my hair, or cut far too much off. I was far too exasperated to find another stylist, so I temporarily gave up for a good 10 months. My hair was getting really long, which is good, but the ends were in desperate need of a trim. Luckily, Yelp came to the rescue! I found Farzy! Her reviews looked good and I knew that it was her own business, which means that she'd go out of her way to keep the clients happy. I finally went in last Wednesday and I'm glad she did. Farzy told me precisely what she was going to do and showed me after each step. She knows what cut will suit your face, and will give you tips on how to look after your hair. She even gave me some long side bangs (something I haven't had since I was 13!) The whole experience took a total of 25 minutes. The ladies pricing is according to length, short hair starts at $29.95 to long $49.95. You can add shampooing if you wish, that's another $5.00. Farzy's also have comfy sofas, magazines and refreshments at the waiting area. She's ultra-friendly and is very personable. I recommend her highly. read more

I found Farzy through Yelp a few years ago and I now refuse to go to anyone else! She's been cutting hair for 30 years and she really knows what she's doing. I have fine hair, bangs and layers and it's pretty complicated to get right. I've been to various different salons and shops over the years but never found anyone who could do just the right cut on me. I went in and she knew EXACTLY what to do with my hair without any instruction or advice. She found her way through my cowlick in one side of my bangs and was able to make them even and spunky! I recommend Farzy to anyone, regardless of where you live. I used to live right in Redmond by her and now I live in Renton and I still go to her only! Did I say I got a haircut ? Yes ! I was totally surprised to see my hair getting transformed with Farzy. I am always skeptical when it comes to cheap places like Supercuts and Great Clips for getting a haircut - have tried it several times. I also tried the upscale places but even they did not come up with something I would love. I went to Farzy and showed her a picture of a haircut that I had on my mind and she improvised it. This was the most bizarre place I have ever gotten my haircut. After waiting about 10 minutes, she sat me down and I showed her a picture of what I wanted, and away she went. She worked so ridiculously fast it was almost frightening. I'm kind of tall, about 6'3, and she made me slouch in my chair the entire time so she could reach, but when she was all done I had an extremely well crafted hair cut, I was actually pleasantly surprised. During the cut Farzy kept referring to my haircut as my "transformation" and how I could see the world now that I had my haircut. At one point she told me that "god created me with a vision of fashion". As I said before, it was the most bizarre haircut I ever had, but I will probably stop back again for my next "transformation". read more

Farsi did a poor job of my haircut. She did exactly what I'd asked her not to do and gave me a cookie cutter haircut. I had asked for layers but she gave me steps haircut from the 90s style instead. She chopped off a big chunk of my long hair. I had a big vacation coming and she spoilt my hair. I regret going to her. What I love most is I can walk in there, shaggy as all get out, and in 15 quick minutes she turns me back into presentable gent I used to be. Like other reviewers, I'm knew Farzi during the years she was at SuperCuts, and I'm very happy that she's got her own place again (as she has for most of her many years in the profession). I recommend her very highly as a friendly, efficient, and good at her work. Farzi prides herself on giving each customer the time they need, but also trying to leave enough time between appointments that she can always stay on schedule; she can't *always* succeed, but she really seems to be trying her best to make everyone happy. Her storefront is very welcoming for both adults and children; enjoy the atmosphere, have some cookies and tea or coffee, and if you're small ride the airplane :-) My only suggestion would be that it's hard to find parking that doesn't say it's reserved for people shopping at some businesses or other; she told me that it was fine to park in the corner lot just to the West of her, but I'd feel better if the signage at the lot made it explicit that it was OK. read more

Farzy is a one woman shop, even though she has more chairs, I've never seen anyone else cutting hair here. She is very sweet, remembering your preferences, and loves to listen. Ever since I decided to give her a try several years ago, I've not regretted it. I can walk to her from my apartment. The only tiny niggle I have is that she's closed on Monday, which is one of my days off. Best haircut I have had maybe ever... Farzy is the nicest person, really listens but also makes suggestions. She showed me how to style my new cut with the simplest of tools. I literally can blow dry my hair with my fingers and it looks absolutely great. She really knows her stuff. One thing that did surprise me, she does not shampoo first. But for me that is really not an issue as I prefer using my own products anyway. Just go with cleanish hair and you will be fine. I have already sent my son (his looks great too) and I will definitely be going back. She is open everyday except Mondays and runs the place by herself. Worth every penny! read more

Despite N.J.'s belief that these reviews are plants, I can tell you, mine is not. I recently moved to the Seattle area and I've been looking for a good place to get a haircut. I just want a simple men's cut, short on the side, tapered up and parted on the left. Apparently it's not that 'simple' up here, because I tried 8 or 9 different places before I finally found Farzy. I don't know what is so hard about it, when I walk in, my hair is styled the way I want it, so just follow the pattern and shorten it up! On my first visit, I just sat down and with very little explanation, she was able to cut it just how I like it. By the second visit she was able to undo all the hack jobs that had come before and it's been great ever since! You can always tell a good cut by the way it grows out. If your hair doesn't quite style right after a few weeks of growth, it was a bad cut to start. Yes, she occasionally runs behind, and the later in the day you make an appointment, the more likely that will happen, but for a good cut that I don't have to worry about for 4 weeks, I'll wait, and it's worth every bit of the $25 she charges. We have gone to Farzy for the better part of 18 years, from her previous salon to her own shop. She just gets it! If you understand how hair appointments work, then you'll have the best experience. Short hair takes less time, and longer hair more. Farzy breaks up her hour into two short and one long cut slots, generally. That's why one late person can throw off the whole schedule.
