This is my very first salon coloring experience and I was very scared. They could either do an amazing job or screw it up. I didn't want to be one of those customers that threw a tantrum about my hair. Because my hair is pretty much my life. I went in for a consultation and Kari was extremely sweet. She seemed to understand what I wanted so I trusted her and made an appointment. When I went in for my appointment, she got started immediately. She is an extremely friendly and sweet person. I don't think I've ever had such a nice conversation with a hair stylist ever. Long story short, she made my hair look absolutely A-MAZING. My hair feels healthy, comfortable, and the color is exactly how I wanted it to be. Oh, she also gives one killer head massage. It might've been to rub the shampoo in but still, it felt great! I got a balayage and it was $100. I think it was completely worth the money. As an Asian with pretty much virgin black hair, I noticed that while I was there for the 2 hours, I was still the only Asian. I'm not saying they are racist, but, if you are Asian and looking for a good salon, this salon will take care of your dark hair. Trust me. They know what they are doing. I'm definitely coming back to get my hair colored whenever I'm back in Seattle.

If you're looking for an experienced hair dresser in the cutest little salon, she is your gal. Especially with the pandemic going on, it's hard to find a hair salon that can give you the full service without breaking any Heath code rules. You get an entire room to yourself so it is super covid-friendly. And I personally love my long hair and hate when hair dressers tell me I need to cut off more than I want. She new the exact amount to take off and she killed it on my partial foil. She is very open and honest about end results and whether they are achievable. Overall, awesome experience and boy did we have some fun conversations. Will definitely be back.

Getting ahold of reception can sometimes be harder than it needs to be, and whenever I am in the salon no-one is actually working reception and stylist have to leave their client and run to the front to try to answer the phone or help people that walk in. I think they could have a much better booking system in place.

I requested that the back be kept long, discussed the treatment around the ears. Showed Grace the stylist inspiration pictures. Asked if she could do it. She said she understood. I had to take a call outside. When I came back she already cut the back short and did the opposite of what I asked around the ears. It's as if she ignored my & my son's wishes and did whatever she wanted. My son is sad- it will take a long time to grow his hair out again. I don't recommend Grace because she did not listen and did not satisfy her client.

With the high number of recent positive reviews I am sorely shocked and embarrassed by my haircut. I asked for a 2 inch trim and straight across cut. No layers. Pretty simple haircut I would think. The haircut lasted at most 15 minutes and felt very rushed. She went straight in for the cut without holding her fingers to my hair and asking me if this amount is ok or if I wanted more or less. She didn't compare the length and from the front, my left and right sides are uneven. After she did the trim she went in and randomly hacked away at my hair with the layering scissors. I was too surprised and anxious to ask her stop in the moment. I left the salon with hair that looks choppy and grossly uneven from the front and strback. I will not return and do not recommend going here for a women's cut.

I had been in the habit of wearing my hair up to avoid the very noticeable line in my hair from brown to black. Jo performed a color correction miracle. We are still on a journey to bring my hair to Jo's vision, but for my hair to look this good after one color correction session? Unthinkable. I am so grateful to have found this stylist. I came there hoping to somehow fix the disastrous results of the service I had at one of salons in Bellevue. I'm pretty low maintenance and don't spend a lot of time styling my hair. She took that into consideration and made sure my cut works well without a dryer and lots of styling. So glad I scheduled with her! I like precision cuts with minimal daily styling for my long hair. I suggest some face frame layers starting mid cheek level & Adrienne advised she's be happy to do that but starting higher like what I described would require a bit more work than what I would commit to daily. She suggested starting more jaw level for the layers & I'm so happy we did that The salon is located inside Mosaic & is easy to locate. I appreciate the free 2 hour parking as I hate driving around searching for parking spots in busy downtown Kirkland.

I don't write many reviews, but I am taking the time to write this one because I want to thank her for her introducing me to the "grey fade" and a new way of using temporary dye to tone down the grey without that awful growing out phase of stark white roots after a few weeks. Also, if life gets busy and the color fades, I can go for a little longer between sessions and I look like a regular greying person. Try it, you'l love it if you have given up on coloring your hair because of the stark white roots and maintenance challenges. Breanna took the time to ask for what I wanted and her energy is very calming and that helped me to decide I could take on this "grey fade" with confidence. Also, a shout out to all women with curly, kinky hair needs - my son has super, thick, wavy long hair and he really struggles to not let it get frizzy and puffy. Breanna knew how to de-puff it down and taught him how to how to style his wavy hair. While I was in my chair by the glass door a woman stopped in their tracks. She came in to pick up a card from Breanna because they were so excited to see stylist on the Eastside suburbs who had a gorgeous Afro. I trust a stylist who knows how to make themselves look good and its great to support someone who can do the full range of hair types, including Black hair. All the stylists at Salon Unmixed and their customers look happy whenever I am there. I like the music they play (thanks Keoni) and the use and availability of the awesome Aveda products are always a plus.
