Easy to say she understood the assignment! This was my first time getting my hair done after a year-long break and moving to a new city/state, so I was very nervous to go back to my usual blonde blonde without finding a new and reliable stylist in the area. I'm happy I have with Paige at Asante! I feel comfortable going more bold next time with her because she puts the integrity and health of your hair first, which is always my priority. I appreciate that the salon has standardized pricing which leaves no room for guessing and Paige consulted with me prior to diving into my hair so that I was comfortable. Expensive ($95 plus $15 tip) damaging (flat ironed fine, bleached hair while damp), uneven bangs (which I mentioned several times and she insisted they were even, I got home and there was a chunk in the middle WAY longer than the rest and the right side was longer) and cut a chunk 1.5 inches too short (so there's a long piece in the front, short chunk, and then the longer pieces continue, making it look really frazzled, where I had 1 length before). I'm honestly really upset. I take such good care of my hair and it looks like a weedwacker got it. My lesson is learned and I won't be coming back to see Roxi. read more

Had to wash the hot mess and tangles out asap and only to figure out my hair cut was uneven so $85 went to waste (left a $10 tip) this salon doesn't cater to black hair so don't bother and having my hair treated like it was "different" was embarrassing. I needed to find a new stylist after my previous one moved to a new location that was too far for me to commute to. I ended up calling Asante by accident thinking it was a different Aveda salon. I am thankful that I did! Lexy was my stylist and she did a wonderful job. She took her time and was very pleasant to speak with. If you're looking to go ash blonde from a light brown for $300 this is not the place for you. I got a half foil, toner, and cut for $300 and my hair ended up darker . I asked for a drastic change, and I was so deeply disappointed for the amount of money I invested in my hair that I called and they set up a second appointment free of charge. The second appointment has arrived, and I'm still light brown. The hairdresser (who seemed peeved to be doing a redo, only at the very end said "I want you to like your hair", and faulted my lack of ashy hair knowledge to the problem) said it would cost me $600, 12 hours in a chair, and 6 inches cut from my hair to achieve my desired results. I have been a client at Asante salon for many years, and when I moved back to the Pacific Northwest I was lucky enough to become a client of Jennifer's. And she is absolutely amazing!! I originally was seeing her for extensions, she is so quick and talented I would be in and out of there in under 2 hours. Now I just go in for a relaxer, the occasional haircut and a blow dry. Pros: calm space and good location. Cons: junior stylist turned my hair orange, defensive when I asked them to fix it... was told that "Aveda recommends exactly the way we did it". I've been getting my hair colored at Aveda salons for years and they always use heat...Asante didn't. Then a week later when I could get back in I was 12 minutes late for fix appointment and was told they didn't have enough time to fix my hair now but could touch up my roots. Ha! Extremely helpful stylist. Expensive for a 15 minute session that ended up telling me . . just let it grow out and your hair will get more manageable. My last visit at this salon was horrible before it began. I was charged for time the stylist. Wanda ran errands and talked on the phone. I was insulted and was disrespected. The hair came out OK so far. The only redeeming factor. First Wanda said "I don't trust you" so you will have to pay a $150.00 deposit because she thinks I'm going to be a no show for a 3 hour appointment. Despite the fact that I have never been a no show before. Then she insulted me again during the salon visit saying "I'm like a child" and asked me what I want to read and said "how about some trash" and retrieved some of those gossip rags. She spent most of the actual time she worked on me complaining about how hard work it is to do the treatment and how she hates doing them and only wants to do one a week. Then she charged me for time that she ran an errand and talked on the phone. She left the salon for 25 minutes while my hair was processing. You're supposed to check it to make sure there is no damage. Your hair could fall out if it is overprocessed. Then she spent 30 minutes on the phone and in the bathroom. At $125/hour that is pretty steep to pay for someone to run errands and attend to other customers. Then she balked at me using a $20 coupon. After some arguing she deducted $25.00. Wow so generous. Needless to say there was no tip. I have never not tipped a stylist. An unpleasant experience. The hair was OK. I won't be going back. Followup: I called the Salon Manager, she should know about what is going on her salon. She gave me a refund for the half hour overcharge. She did say "I get alot of comments" about Wanda. I bet. I may consider going to a different stylist, not for a long time. read more

Absolutely the best place I've been on the Eastside for men's haircuts, and I've tried quite a few. I always book with Autumn - she is SO talented, friendly, and professional. She makes my hair look and feel amazing every time (the shampoo and scalp massage are awesome too!). Somehow she always finds the time to get every detail just right without it feeling rushed. Asante was able to fit me in for a last minute hair-cut on a weekend -- they only had one opening so plan ahead! I was impressed with the overall experience and would def go back. They were very friendly, listened to what I wanted, and made recommendations. Kristen Ann cut my hair and was very helpful. She double checked the ends/lengths as a final QA, which I do appreciate. I'd rather they checked one last time than to find uneven lengths at home. There's a coupon on their site for 20% off first time customers. If I had more money I would buy some of their Aveda Products. As far as parking goes...There's a small connected parking lot. They do take credit cards. read more

I have to relocate often because of my husband's work, and I refuse to go anywhere except an Aveda salon. Every other hair color that I have tried makes my hair break and fall out. Only Aveda products prevent this and give me the results I want. I found Asante by doing an internet search and made an appointment. I carry with me, in my wallet, the "recipe" for my hair color. IF the stylist follows it to the letter, my hair comes out perfect. However, sometimes I will run across a stylist that, without asking, will tweak the recipe a little and it is always a disaster. Jennifer listened to me. She changed nothing. She read the recipe and said, "Oh yeah! No Problem!" and just like that, my hair came out perfect. Its very important to me that my opinions are counted, that I can have confidence that my recipe wont be changed in any way, and that I have the final say in what I want for my hair. This is not to say that I am closed to suggestions. I entertain them enthusiastically but the bottom line is that the decision is MINE. Jennifer has inspired both trust and confidence in me. She happily copied down my aveda color recipe in her file and I never have to doubt that she will follow it. I also can trust her with a cut. When I show her how much I want trimmed, that is how much she will take, and not a millimeter more. I have very curly hair. I have ridiculously thick hair (when it isnt breaking off from a bad color job). I wear a blunt cut, which most stylists dont want to do with such curls. Jennifer does not argue about the cut, the color, or anything. I can expect expert work, cheerful conversation (she has a very quick wit and will make you laugh), and most importantly, perfect hair. Jennifer is excellent with fussy people like me. She is also a very talented stylist . I have observed her working with other clients and her work is amazing. She can make you look like you've been to the best salon in the world. Your hair will sparkle, lay perfectly and be beautiful just for YOU. Appointments are fairly easy to get. Jennifer has worked me into her schedule when time is tight. The salon is clean, smells GOOD and is bright and pleasant. It is conveniently located with plenty of parking. Worst customer service experience I've ever had, has been here. I went in for a hair cut and style at Asante. I always had my hair done by Nikki who's simply awesome but was unavailable today so I was scheduled to get it done by Lexi. Lexi listened to what I wanted and looked at the photo I showed her so she could get my hair done as similar to it as possible. She was patient at the beginning and did the cut well but when it came to facial framing, not sure what happened. I showed her that I wanted the facial framing till my earlobe and not any shorter than that and that I wanted a lot of facial framing. She took the scissors and cut it a lot shorter than I expected which is now making a lot of my hair stand up right over my forehead . When I talked to her about this, she said that it seems I cannot make you happy (to the first unhappy statement I made the whole time I was there - the statement would at least make sense if I've been constantly complaining or criticizing) and then she said that I should see a senior stylist . Great response ‍... ummm not helpful at all after the fact, could've warned me before that she might not be able to do the facial framing the way I wanted it! Anyway, she then went and brought a senior stylist who let me know that everyone has some hair that stands up when u style it .. never heard a good stylist say that to me before. I just stood up and walked away from them to pay as her response let me know they were never going to accept the fact that they messed up and I don't think with that attitude they would have even tried to fix it! Just got my hair cut and colored at Asante Salon. Thank you so much fellow yelpers for providing good reviews of this wonderful salon. I have been going to Gene Jaurez for almost 6 years and have been spending a small fortune ($300) each time I got my hair done (about every 3 months). Once I moved away from the Lynnwood Gene Juarez area and needed to look for a new salon, I really wanted to find a decent salon that could provide the same if not better service and results as GJ. I have so many girlfriends that all get their hair cut/colored for around $125 (many live in seattle or outside of my radius so I couldn't just go to their fav salon). I turned to yelp for some guidance. Christine did a fantastic job. Not only was she very attentive and took the time to listen to what I wanted, but gave me very specific information along the way about what she was doing and why. I got an overall color with a partial foil and a hair cut and because I was a new customer I got 20% off - which meant I got my hair done for 1/3 the cost that I usually pay! And - my hair looks and feels great. They are an Aveda salon which means they only use aveda products so I knew the quality of my color and the condition of my hair would be improved (from the Loreal crap that GJ uses). I also found out that they do extensions there (the owner showed me options and examples) and I am so excited to try this out. I have very fine hair that doesn't grow fast or long so the idea of being able to add extensions has always intrigued me. The cost has prohibited me from making the leap, but the Aveda solution is so affordable! Once I purchase the hair (initial investment could be 400+ depending on the length and quantity but should last for up to a year). The cost to have them put in is only $100 (for 2 sets). Maintenance is very easy (non - fusion technique). The best part is it only takes an hour to get them done (vs. the 6 hours a gf spent along with over $700 per session)! I will keep you posted on the extension installation. Probably going to save up and do this in a few weeks. read more

I have never written a review before. I went to the salon to get a haircut and was very excited about it as my hair was in a pixie and I had grown it out 2 or 3 inches and needed it shaped. The salon is beautiful, I was treated very nicely however the haircut was horrible it was choppy and uneven I was so disappointed. But I'm not writing the review because of that, The reason I'm writing is because I sent an email regarding my experience hoping to talk with someone about it, didn't get a response so a few days later I sent another email asking please to get back to me, and it's been two weeks and no one has ever responded. It is not okay to ignore your patrons who have had a bad experience, and I have been ignored. regretfully I would rate the service a zero not only because of the bad haircut that was $60 plus a generous tip but being ignored is horrible. read more
