Salinas is a gorgeous restaurant with the perfect balance of ambiance, lighting and tapas-style items. We arrived just as they opened at 5:30PM for our reservation and noticed that they were also serving a large, private party. We were seated promptly and offered a choice of still, sparkling or tap water and presented our menus. Thankfully the menu at Salinas is pretty straightforward though I noticed that many of the signature tapas dishes you'd expect (e.g. patatas bravas) were quite a bit more expensive than I'm used to - due to the addition of caviar in the dish. I would have rather seen that as an additional add-on vs being made to have it in but perhaps that's just the budget-conscious side of me coming out. As expected from many of these fine-dining establishments the portions are tiny, and I found some of them, specifically the cauliflower and eggplant to be a bit of a letdown. I don't mind a small portion but the eggplant was a bit bland, and the cauliflower looked like something I could whip up in the air fryer in 15 minutes. At least their espresso martini, one of their signature drink items, was delicious and featured some type of dehydrated fruit (strawberry?) on top which I thought was a nice touch. The octopus was also delicious and a must-get if you're here. Finally, we also split a burger for something more substantial but at $30+ I didn't think it was worth the price. You can find a much, much better burger at somewhere like Rolo's for that price! Still, if you're bringing a date or looking for a more classy establishment I think this is a good place to go. They also accept Blackbird which was a nice touch.

A great experience overall. Would make a great date night. I went with a group. They made my friend a custom menu for the plates we ordered for her birthday. The sangria was good. My favorite thing of the night was the fish. I believe it was bass? Cooked to perfection. The octopus was also very delicious!!! Everything was yummy and came out promptly!

I had one of those nights at Salinas that you don't really expect going in, but end up thinking about long after. From the second I walked in, the space just hits differently. It feels warm, intimate, almost like you've stepped into someone's beautifully designed home rather than a restaurant. At some point you find yourself under the retractable roof, looking up at the stars in the middle of New York, which is kind of wild in the best way. The food was honestly next level. You can tell there's a real San Sebastián influence behind it. Everything felt precise but still full of flavor and personality. Every dish that came out just kept building on the last. The presentation was beautiful without trying too hard, and the flavors were the kind that make you pause for a second after a bite. Service was exactly what you want it to be. Super attentive, really knowledgeable, but still relaxed. Nothing felt forced or overdone. I also have to mention the cocktails because they deserve it. Whoever is behind the bar knows what they're doing. I had the "Comandante on Vacation" and it was one of those drinks you immediately want another of before you're even halfway through. What I didn't expect was how the energy evolves during the night. There's a DJ, but it's not in your face. It just slowly lifts the whole atmosphere and suddenly dinner turns into something a bit more alive without losing that elevated feel. It's just one of those places where everything works. The setting, the food, the service, the vibe all come together in a way that feels effortless. Definitely one of the more memorable dinners I've had in a while.

Beautiful and intimate spot with even equally delicious tapas, desserts and cocktails! Service is accommodating and warm but never intrusive or hurried! Everything was delicious and beautifully plated. The space was perfect to meet up for a first date, a friends outings or just a date night with your bae.

Ambiance: 5/5. Modern, trendy, cozy, cool Service: 5/5. No complaints Food: 3/5: patatas were excellent. They were fried to perfection and the cream sauce with caviar enhanced the flavor, also had a nice kick. The toast with tomato was solid. Had a nice crunch but was a little sour. The steak was meh - for the price would have wanted something more fresh. The cheesecake was also meh - it looks amazing but the flavor and texture wasn't as good as I was hoping.

Amazing service. Everything came out within 10 minutes of ordering it felt like. The ambiance is nautical and datey. Food was incredible - well seasoned and everything had a unique flavor. My fiance and I came here for date night and it did NOT disappoint. Everything was perfect.

Came here to celebrate my anniversary and actually found it on Resy first. It was a perfect spot for a date night or celebration. Staff were nice and attentive and the vibe was truly warm and cozy. My bf and I ordered the Pulpo (octopus) and it was cooked to perfection with a slight charred taste. I ordered the pollo (chicken) which was amazing juicy and paired well with the greens. Had a wonderful time here and would love to come back. 10/10

Patatas Bravas Marinas. Too much Aioli.

Small entryway leading into quaint, dark cubbyholes. Quite a romantic spot. From the host to the servers, service was very consistent. As for food, while the items read well on paper we unfortunately weren't impressed with the quality. The Iberico was so tough, leathery even, that it was very unpleasant to the palate. In my opinion, inedible. Croquetas of the day, once served presented well with its crisp looking exterior but had a very soft interior. It was like potatoes being put through a ricer. Potato Ricing gives you velvety smooth mashed potatoes, but to me a consistency not meant to be in a croquette...way too soft. Sadly, not aware that the croquetas were going to be full on potatoes with hardly any protein, we had another potato dish, the Patatas Bravas Mariners. These were the singular half decent item. The potatoes were crisp, but the aioli overpowered them and the 'caviar'. We've definitely had much better elsewhere. On a positive note, the atmosphere and company was the highlight of this romantic dinner date. Would we come back? Regrettably, no. But very appreciative of the thoughtfulness and efforts made to create this memorable experience. Ambiance - 5 Food - 2

We had a reservation for 4 at 6 pm on a Tuesday. They had a few drinks on happy hour at the bar when we arrived. The back garden was lovely when the weather was nice and the roof was retracted. Garden was near empty when we got there but full when we left. Sangria was a bit bitter for me but everyone else liked it. Tapas came out incredibly fast! And they being them out as they're ready which is nice. Some favorites were the daily specials (croquetas, empanadas, steak skewers over chicken peas) hanger steak and the octopus. Would come back.

let's start off with "wow" I was nervous before coming just being a semi-picky eater & all & wow Salinas did NOT disappoint ! The ambiance of this place is boujie while having a homey feeling which i love !! The service, incredible ! If you don't know what you want the employees will help you, they're patient and nice. Now to the food-- my friend ordered us the Potatoes (TO DIE FOR) OMG, if i could have these every day? I soooo would !!! Im lactose intolerant but i had to try the croquetas, they are sooo worth the stomach ache lol -- We also got the tartar, octopus and pork belly. My stomach was so happy, will definitely be back and so should you !

Bread pudding and chocolate flan desserts

Salina's is an upscale, intimate Spanish restaurant and bar. My friends and I went on a Wednesday night without a reservation and they were fully booked but able to fit us in at a table. We tried a few of their dishes including the pan tumaca, which was basically a tomato or bruschetta-like spread on sour dough. Berenjena - was an eggplant dish which was baked with bread crumbs on top. The croquetas have beef in them and were the most flavorful dish. Pulpo con cenizas is an octopus dish, which I surprisingly really liked. It was prepared very well with a smoky char, and extremely tender. I usually don't like octopus, but this was delicious. And lastly the entraña , which was the hanger steak with a side salad. It was prepared medium and was extremely tender and juicy. For dessert, we had the bread pudding and chocolate flan, which is pictured. I would recommend the chocolate flan, which is a special and tasted more like chocolate mousse, rich and delicious! Only downside was that portions for tapas and apps are small so meant for 2 people to share ideally. Overall a great meal and about $100 per person with drinks.

Stella L.

First and foremost, loved the ambience. It was like having romantic dinner inside of a dimly lit greenhouse. This is a tapas style place so we ordered various dishes including the salad, croquettas, steak skewers and noodle paella. As for me, the noodle paella was the most memorable! Staff was also fast and attentive. This place did not disappoint. I will gladly come back here!

For that reason, I'm hesitant to come back, but if that excites you, I think you would love this place.

They sat us upstairs along the balcony overlooking the main dining room, and the decor... honestly, just look at the photo because I don't even know how to describe it The space used to be a church, and it is SO cool inside. Definitely not your average pizza joint. This place is popular -- there were plenty of people eating -- but surprisingly, our wait wasn't long at all. And even with all the bodies in there, it never felt crammed or uncomfortable. We ordered a small pizza and did half Shrimp Fra Diavolo and half Margherita. The Fra Diavolo had a little kick, but nothing crazy -- and this is coming from someone who cannot handle big spice The Margherita had just the right amount of basil and mozzarella, and that crispy crust was exactly what I wanted. Although there was no major cheese pull, it was still perfect. The small was plenty for the two of us and honestly just perfect. We also had a couple cocktails, which were delicious too. I always say NYC food pricing is kind of deceiving. You look at the price and go, "Ummm..." but then the food comes out and you realize they give you A LOT. Definitely felt like we got our money's worth here. Great pizza, really cool atmosphere, and a fun first NYC pizza experience for the husband. Happy Eating, Chass

John's Pizzeria of Times Square is located inside a restored 19th‑century church. I sampled the a la vodka pasta. I was not over impressed. It was cold in parts and warm in others and the pasta was stuck together in places. It was also dry with not enough sauce. I had to ask for some extra. By the time the lack luster server returned with the sauce I was almost finished. I would not visit again, as now I have seen the historical element. The story began in 1995, when Madeline Castellotti, a hardworking single mother and former human resources professional, saw potential in a derelict Gospel Tabernacle Church on West 44th Street in Times Square. At the time, the area was gritty, with homelessness, graffiti, and adult‑shop culture, but Madeline envisioned a unique, family‑friendly space. She was drawn to the church's intact stained‑glass ceiling, divided into eight equal panels -- a design she likened to slices of pizza. After two years of renovation, Madeline converted the abandoned church into a modern pizzeria while preserving its historic character. The project included restoring the stained glass, adding balcony seating, and installing four 800‑degree coal‑fired brick ovens with no thermostats.

There are no signs, and you walk up a set of steps and through a thick curtain to get inside. It's tucked into an old brownstone and very easy to miss. We sat at the bar. Service was a bit mixed. The bartender we had wasn't very friendly, but we did get our drinks without issue. We ordered a couple of Mexican mules and a martini. The martini was fabulous -- definitely the standout. Unfortunately, the mules were not great. I was also hoping for some specialty or holiday cocktails, but there weren't any. That said, the space itself is beautiful and has a cool, hidden-gem feel. The other staff we interacted with were very nice -- we just happened to get the grumpy bartender. Would I go back?
