Due to the Covid19 issue, my finace and myself have been eating at home a lot lately and we decided to order to go food for a change for dinner (5/13/20). I decided to pick up Salata as it's one of my fiancé's favorites and it's on my way home from work. I utilized the order online feature you find on their website so our order would be prepared and ready when I stopped in so I wouldn't have to wait, I even paid online. I walk into the store, was not greeted with hello or welcome but only asked what the name is and when I tell them they are looking around like they are lost and I see that my order was not ready at all. The order was received, it was laying by the register, the establishment was completely empty, so it wasn't like they were helping others and busy. The two employees behind the counter started running around rushing to put the order together, throwing the lettuce and veggies in the to go containers. They didn't even mix the salad together like they normally do. I was very upset, why would I use a system such as online ordering that is supposed prevent waiting when it doesn't do that. I'm not upset with the quality of food, but I think Salata has poor choice in employees. If they don't want to work or have poor attitudes, they should not be there or they need to train people better. I could of bought a less expensive meal at Chicfila and still got better service and heard it's my pleasure to serve you. Please do better! read more

I am so disappointed at this place the past two times.. The first disappointment was when I saw eyelash hair at the side of the to go plate after I consumer my whole salad. The second time I took home a to-go salad I got down to my last few bites and see a dead fly I'm my salad! Salata is called the "next generation of salad" but I can't see how it is. It's basically getting a customized salad at a salad bar that isn't self-service, so you can't control how much you want of one thing unless you ask. When you first walk in, you pick if you want a regular salad, a small salad or a salad wrap. There's a good variety of greens at the beginning whether you want a spring mix, romaine, spinach, or a mix of them all. They have pretty much all the toppings you could want: tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, jicama, radishes, carrots, broccoli florets, corn, black beans, kidney beans, chickpeas, sliced mushrooms, cheese (feta crumbles, two kinds of shredded cheeses), beet chunks, avocado (extra $1), raisins, craisins, walnuts, almonds, walnuts, croutons and such. I think I've listed the basic gist. Dressings seem to be pretty good. I asked for it on the side so they do fill up at least two little containers of it. Otherwise, I was a little shocked at the ladlefuls of dressing added and it looks like Chipotle Ranch was the best seller out of the dressings. Then there's the protein options available. I think I counted 4-5 different kinds or flavored, grilled chicken. I picked the herb marinated grilled chicken which was pretty good. There were flavors like Asian, BBQ and Chipotle. Ultimately, after everything is picked out, they wrap your salad wrap or toss your salad for you. They also include a slice of bread with your salad. I picked a pesto bread and thought it tasted ok. They do reheat/toast it, but it didn't taste very different when I brought it home. Overall, I spent about $11 on my salad because I added chicken. I thought it was ok. It's convenient (and you're paying for the convenience of not gathering all the salad fixins to make your own salad at hoe), and yet not so convenient logistically because of how long it took to build a salad. A staff member behind the counter tries to work on 3 salads simultaneously with 3 customers, so it'd be faster if he could finish one before starting another. Or else, it'd be easier if it were self-serve. read more

I come here 2 a week after my workouts it's a nice healthy place to eat i and you can get whatever you want in your salad or wrap and it's very nice and upscale and the workers are always nice and friendly. I could have asked for a better healthy place to eat read more

We go here for lunch often because a good salad can be refreshing. The constant begging for toppings is annoying. I think they received training on how to make it look like they are giving you a lot but it's usually less than a tablespoon. There's this flipping wrist motion much like a magician trying to trick you into thinking they're giving you more than they are. The spoons for cheese and eggs is caked up so you never get a full spoon of those either. We were there today and it looked like a quality control guy was there so maybe they are making changes. When you are paying anywhere from $12-$15 for a salad you shouldn't have to beg for toppings. read more

I picked up Salata last night for dinner and knew when I walked in, I should have walked right out. I took one look at the lettuce and thought to myself how old it looked. However, I was visiting a friend and needed dinner, so I proceeded to order. Not only was the lettuce terrible, but I basically had to beg for more toppings. Why does the small salad and the regular salad receive the same amount of topping portions except with a huge amount of more lettuce? I was given one measly scoop of the few toppings I asked for. When I got home, I picked out so many wet, old, slimy leaves that I immediately lost my appetite and threw the $15 salad in the trash. My friend asked me which Salata I went to and when I told her it was this location, she immediately looked disgusted and told me that her and her husband got it one time and the lettuce was horrible, so they have not been back. I regret not taking a picture, but in the moment I just wanted it out of my sight. I love the Salata near my house closer in town, so I'm disappointed to have such an opposite experience at a different one. read more

I used to frequent this restaurant when I worked up on 290 area in northwest Houston. I do miss going here since I've moved jobs and now work on the opposite side of town. We would go in here when we would want a healthy alternative but by the end of the choices I made the salad wasn't that healthy. We loved this place and it's no surprise this place would have a long line since it is so good. Unfortunately I don't get to come here as often as I did but If I'm in the area I would consider eating here again. read more

I don't understand the low reviews for this place. I literally eat here or make online to go orders about twice a week. The staff is always super friendly, food is always fresh and even when it's busy the line always moves quickly. If you're in a hurry though I definitely recommend ordering your salad online and you can choose the exact time you want to pick it up so you know it's going to be fresh. In a world full of junk food Salata is my go to healthy food restaurant that I actually feel good about eating which I can't say about almost any other restaurant that I can think of. This isn't my normal Salata so it is being compared to the Market Street location and other make your own salad establishments. The employees were friendly but as far as my salad goes it was lacking. They just didn't put many of each topping in my salad which left the salad tasting just like greens and dressing. And for the price, you want more than just greens. read more

I love Salata but this location is just plain nasty . Had a salad and soup as I was finishing up my tomato basil soup I almost ingested a fly that had been in the soup. Spoke to the people who was in charge at the time they told me not to cause a seen and gave me free coupons for my next visit! Mind you the free coupons was for their location only ! Yuck!!!!! There was 2 maggots in my spring mix chipotle chicken salad. I spoke to manager they only refunded my $$ and when I asked them to throw out the spring mix and the chicken that had them they refused and watched as the other customers bought the contaminated food. Healthiest lunch at work Eva ... what can beat a big old bowl of salad with a variety of vegetables and a bit of fruits...topped with chicken cut in cubes and with a variety of flavors: marinated, BBQ, etc...or topped with salmon, shrimps or seafood. You can also add falafel, quinoa, avocado, or artichoke. If you are a veggies fan like me it would be a highly recommended place. I have been coming to this place for lunch for years and just today found out about the wheat croissants...they don't seem to be advertising it but you can ask for it .... you will get hungry shorty after so you better get some pita chips or the croissants ... enjoy the goodness of nature. I ordered online for a work lunch for 6 people. When I went to pick up, I waited at the counter for over 5 minutes before anyone would even acknowledge me. Since the order contained soup, salad and cookies for 6 people, it was a decent load to carry. The guy at the counter told me I had to pack my own silverware, napkins and even fill up the drinks, and then ended with "I don't know how you are going to carry all this out" and walked away without so much as offering to help with any of it. They forget a few ingredients in a salad and completely left off a soup from our order. The tortilla soup in my order was nothing but broth and some floating tomatoes- I wont order that again. All in all- if you are going to spend that much for soup and salad, Salata should step up their customer service game. read more

Okay went here to eat healthy. The salad was good just way over priced. Small salad with some little bits of chicken was $9.00. The salad comes their way; think of it as socialized salad. If you want a lot of say mushrooms, you are out of luck. The price includes an optional wrap even if you don't want one. Serious stomach issues!!!!! I have been to this location several times for lunch but last Wednesday, my fiancé and I met there after work for dinner. We both had a regular salad and I also had soup. The next day we could not stay off the toilet. These stomach issues are still present and it's been almost a week. I will never risk eating at this location or any for that matter. Being a fan of Souper Salad, I was interested in trying this place. It's laid out in buffet fashion, but you are served ala Chipotle, Subway etc... You start out by opting for a large or small salad or a wrap. The ingredients are sectioned off nicely and there are a ton of choices although as with any setup like this I imagine it's slow at peak hours. Also, I'm typically not a fan of servers in these instances because your portions are chosen for you and if you want a little of this and more of that, it tends to get annoying to you, the server and the people behind you in line. That said, the serving sizes were good and when I inquired about certain ingredients or was unsure, they were quick with a testing spoon asking me if I wanted to try it first. One of the two employees I encountered were friendly, the other wasn't rude just quiet and stand offish a bit. The selections were fresh and options are aplenty, toppings, meats and dressings included. The seating area is nice but seems kinda small when you factor in the rush hours, and the jazzy muzak crap they play has got to go, IMO anyway. I had a large salad with buffalo chicken and chipotle ranch dressing as well as a serving of soup. Oh, did I tell you they have soup? Three kinds but I don't know if it's always the same or if they rotate out. I tried the broccoli soup and didn't care for the seasoning or how the ingredient amounts were parsed out in the blend. The salad however was quite good and is a huge serving. The chipotle ranch is spicy so take that into consideration. I had the soup, large salad with buffalo chicken, avocado (add the dreaded $1) broccoli soup and bottled water for $13. Overall a positive experience, I'll come back to try other options. Put up a sneeze guard and hand over the tongs, if I'm going to pay that much for lettuce you'd better let me eat as much of it as I damn well please. I blame Starbuck's, they've convinced everyone it's ok to pay $8 for a cup of coffee, so it must somehow be alright to pay $11 for a tiny salad. Hipsters and Millennials, pfft. WORST Salata location. Just opened 2 days ago but still.... the worst. They're more expensive than the other locations ($11.00 for a small salad and CAN of soda where other locations are $10 for a small salad and a fountain soda with refills?). I had the $8 salad with $3 extra for chicken and throughout the whole bowl I barely found any pieces of chicken like wtf this place is a rip off for $11 I'd rather go next door and buy a salad at chik fil a. I tried the asian bbq chicken and it wasn't good and neither was the pesto chicken that I had with my salad. It just tasted like regular chicken with no seasoning at all. I also had the chipotle flavored chicken with my wrap and it was good and the tomato basil soup was also good and those were probably the only thing I liked there. I love salad but I don't like this location. I got a large salad and after I sat down, I realized the dressing was not adequate. I asked for just a little more and was told that it costs $1 for additional dressing. Really? $11 for a salad and they can't put enough dressing on it. Terrible customer service. I felt like I was trying to get more than I paid for!!!!!! I declined the dressing although it was offered for free THIS time. Honestly, I never really liked salads until I ate one at Salata. The best salad bar place ever! Will never get enough of this place!
