I asked for NO ICE and was told that there's only a ONE SIZE cup. I was brought a small (coffee cup size) drink to go. I almost always get the Farmhouse Skillet--it's just that good--but we haven't had anything we didn't love. The staff is always wonderful, especially Trinady. First Watch is a great Mexican/American breakfast hybrid restaurant that I'll recommend to anyone on their way to work (or just looking for something on the weekend). I had the Tacos al Pastor and the Avocado Toast, and I'll routinely come back for the Tacos al Pastor. I love the homemade masa tortillas and potato hash topped with sliced avocados, shredded Cotija cheese, and pickled onions. They also have a juice bar, and while the Morning Meditation left me disappointed (all I tasted was orange juice, nothing else), the mix of lemon and lavender in their Purple Haze is enough for me to keep ordering more. I'm only keeping this review a 4/5, because upon my first visit, it was really cold inside the restaurant. I wanted to warm up with some hot coffee, but the coffee was served after I received my meal (in hindsight, I probably could ask for it to be served first). So I had to endure a while before I could warm up. In future visits, I'd rather just use the outdoor seating they have or just order takeout. Speaking of takeout, I'd prefer if I had the option to place my order over the phone instead of just using the website every time. It takes less time to order over the phone since it takes a while for me to enter in my credit card information at that time. But when I called their number on Yelp, the automated message system just told me to use their website. Came here on a Tuesday at noon and it was a bit on the slower side. Put in our food order and our server brought out the food for us and left it as that. Not once she came and checked up on us, even to see if we needed water or a refill on the coffee. She was just standing there talking to her other coworkers. Ate breakfast here with friends at about 10am on a Saturday. Just strolled in and got a table. When we left about 11am they were packed I ordered a Hot Chocolate and an orange juice. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and tasted FRESH. I ordered a side of the Million Dollar Bacon which is four slices of their hardwood smoked bacon baked with brown sugar, black pepper and cayenne and drizzled with maple syrup. The bacon was delicious. The strips were long and not even the syrup canceled out the crunchiness of the bacon. I had the chimichanga which comes with potatoes and fresh fruit. The chimichanga had whipped eggs with all natural chicken, chorizo sausage, cheddar & monterrey jack, and avocado. It was simply delicious. I also ordered a large milk with this plate. After another 5 or so minutes, I had to ask for coffee since I hadn't seen a server. After my food was delivered, I didn't see a server again until I got my check. After driving past on the beltway, the family and I decided to stop in Saturday morning around 11 am. It was pretty busy but Cameron was on the dot with service! My daughter and husband got the protein pancakes while I got the waffles. It was absolutely amazing! The preserves that comes with the dishes were fresh and flavorful. The pancakes were fluffy.
