Went here right before close on a Saturday. Service was fast and waitress nice but my daughter got a club sandwich with literally no meat. Like was a tiny slice and all lettuce not like a stacked club. Rest of our food not great portions either. Could tell the cooks rushed and we got a hurry up and leave portion. I enjoy going to the Broken Yolk Cafe in the morning to get some free WiFi, handle some business and have a great breakfast. The food is usually taste and cooked fresh, the service is excellent the management between Jennifer and Ariana do a great job at tending to all customers. The ambiance is the restaurant is pretty average the broken windows are pretty unappealing and block natural sunlight. I highly recommend this breakfast spot, it won't disappoint! read more

It was a bit crowded and with us being new to Texas, it was nice to see a variety of different ethnicities in the restaurant even though we were the only Asians there. But none the less it was nice to see different ethnicities mingling in one place. I ordered the classic eggs Benedict with hash browns and my husband ordered the American Breakfast with Mexican Rice and Corn-beef hash (because we're from Hawaii). Our drinks came out first and then our food came out shortly after. It didn't take to long and the waitress kept checking up on us. The food was good and both my husband and I didn't mind how things were prepared. If I had to compare it to something similar, I would probably say it was similar to an IHOP. The only issue was that the photos in the menu were not of what your order looked like. I ordered the Green Tea Matcha and was expecting it to come out in a large mason cup like the photo showed, but it was a much smaller glass that wasn't similar at all to the photo. I always get the ranchero skillet, which is a very rich blend of a lot of different flavors, including Homefried potatoes sauteed with spicy chorizo, fresh chopped serrano peppers and onions, and their signature ranchero sauce. I have been visiting this restaurant for years. For the last year, something happened, and each visit is worse than last. Today, I ordered two eggs, crispy hash browns, Canadian bacon, and English muffins. The waitress wrote down the order, and I thought I heard her saying "three eggs." I told her that I just wanted two eggs, not three. She looked at her paper and said, "Yes, two eggs." When the order came, there were three eggs. I mentioned that I wanted two only. Of course, I could eat two only, but her response was: "Are you sure you didn't want three?" Moving on... The hash browns were totally white and seemed raw in the middle. She looked at them and acknowledged that they were far from crispy. She said that she'll order a side of crispy ones. When they came, they were a clump of totally burned potatoes and tasted like rancid oil! I guess the cook got offended and taught me a lesson! I have to say that for months now, at each visit, the hash browns are undercooked no matter if I ordered them crispy or not. One last thing, there seemed to be a lot of confusion as to which server handles which customer. I am sorry, but I will find another breakfast place. This was my last visit here. read more

I order a hash skillet no corned beef hash, and no cheese .. Let's just say it looks nothing like the picture . I really need to sue them for false advertisement.. First of all they gave me maybe half of a potato fries and two pieces of green peppers.. I'm big on potatoes and know you can get a bag of potatoes for 5 dollars .. It makes absolutely no sense to scam someone on some potatoes.. They really need to be shut down for scamming ppl over potatoes ‍.. At first this place did not get me the best impression what I went inside, because it had a weird smell to it and for some reason it was extremely cold. Not only temperature cold, but it felt like the patrons were being cold as well and the ambience of the room was cold. It could have just felt like that because it was really morning, and I noticed quickly that we were the only girls wearing hijabs. However that took a change when our sweet server came and got our order. She was really kind and quickly brought out our food, was sweet to my toddler and gave me different options that I asked for as well, like extra half and half and Splenda for my coffee. I just finished eating at The Broken Yolk. I must say, it never disappoints! I just love their red chilaquiles! The sauce is homemade with a little kick and the tortillas are crunchy and never soggy. I come here specifically to eat their chilaquiles about every two weeks! The dish comes with two eggs any way you like, and you can choose chicken or beef to go on top. They add cheese, crema, onions and cilantro , which makes it perfect! The waitresses are so nice, they always get my order right! I love this place because it reminds me of food back home. Yum!!! I forget how much I love breakfast. And I just don't eat out in the morning or for brunch very often. So when I do, it's always an aha moment of, "I should eat out for breakfast more often!" If you go before 10:30am on the weekends you usually get seated quickly. After that there is a wait time, but not too long. If you want cheap basic breakfast go somewhere else Quite the contrary, I thought this cafe was a peaceful place with nice people and that the menu has some interesting/ fancy looking items like crunchy (Frosted Flakes crusted)French toast. The pancakes I ordered were way too sweet - literally as sweet as a piece of cake - but had no enhancing flavor such as buttermilk, vanilla, or malt. On the plus side, they were enormous. My wife's biscuits and gravy featured very average biscuits with gravy that tasted like it came from a box. The coffee was good but I had to chase down a waitperson every time we wanted a refill. I was trying to get my grandson situated and let him know what was all on the menu before looking at the menu myself being a good grandmother . He ordered the blueberry pancakes, eggs and bacon with a hot cocoa with cream to drink, he didn't eat the blueberries. He likes his blueberries in the mix not placed on top of his pancakes, he did eat every bit of his breakfast minus the blueberries though so I take it that he enjoyed and liked his breakfast. I ordered the 2 eggs combo with steak ham, hash browns and a blueberry muffin. I asked the waitress to have them cook my hash browns light not crunchy and they did a wonderful job it was very good ( thank you ). Visit was 02/24/2020. We have been to this place on short notice and with no reservation. We were 4 adults and 1 child. We have been seated with immediate effect and even though our ordering process turned out to be a bit chaotic, we have been all served with the correct food and beverages. Everything was reasonably priced and the service was awesome. Parking is no issue as there is a private parking lot. The reviews were great and they even had 4 stars, so I figured I'd give them a try. I had the classic French toast combo (served with the sides of eggs and applewood bacon). I also ordered a side of fresh fruit, sausage link, and a glass of orange juice. The French toast was great and filling, the eggs were good as well (not too runny). The fruit looked as if it had been sitting out for a while, but it tasted fine. The orange juice was nice as well, although I wish i would've asked for pulp free. The only downside was the free water that came with the meal. It tasted like a tire. Aside from that and the fruit looking old, I was like definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a great and plentiful breakfast! read more

Great place for great breakfast. Came in on a Sunday at 9 expecting a line outside but got a table easily. The skillet hash was great but the lemon ricotta pancake was a bit too lemony for my taste.
