I was excited to try them based off of their other stellar reviews and the fact that they were in very close proximity to my hotel. We arrived around 1:30pm and the restaurant was seemingly empty. The hostess told us we could pick where we wanted to sit outside. The waiter eventually came. He wasn't terrible, but he def wasn't great. He seemed to be annoyed and for what .. I wish I could tell you. But that wasn't what caused this 2 star review. A girl came to our with our food and asked who had what. My mom started to tell her what was in her omelet and before she could finish her sentence the girl SLAMMED/DROPPED the plate on the table.. walked around to my aunt and did the exact same thing to her food and practically stormed off. What the actual heck. . . Our food came in a timely matter, but to say the restaurant was basically empty all our food was either cold or just not that good. My bread wasn't toasted, my potatoes were room temp, both my mom and aunts pancakes were cold (and they couldn't remake them because they ran out of pancake mix), they forgot my brothers brown sugar and bacon, and the donut holes were greasy and cold. I believe First Watch replaced The Egg and I, and totally dig all the renovations to give this place a clean rustic farmhouse look with an open concept! We loved all the selections, especially with the usual off the griddle offerings like omelettes, pancakes, or waffles but also the more healthier offerings like Quinoa bowls or frittatas. My wife opted for the Eggs Benedict with freshly sliced avocado. It was solid. It was not soggy like the one I got at Snooze the other day, but packed with freshness and flavor. Leafy greens were great. I also went for one of their seasonal specials, which I think was called the Baja Chicken Burrito bowl. I went for it because it had the most robust combination- slices of organic salsa verde chicken packed with black beans, kale slaw, quinoa AND farro, avocados, pico de gallo, and a perfectly cooked sunny side up egg. Soooo good. Add unlimited refills on coffee and a cozy atmosphere with attentive service, it's hard not to see why this place is so packed. Come early. My son ordered a plain omelet with cheese and a side of fruit, and orange juice - he was pleased with it. My daughter and I ordered the Truffle Mushroom Hash. THAT was amazingly flavorful! I ordered my eggs over medium, so the yolk was a bit viscous, just the way I like it. Breaking the yolk and mixing it all together with the shiitake and crimini mushrooms, the lean, thick bacon, the potatoes, the touch of Parmesan sauce, and surprisingly the arugula added wonderful flavor! An excellent dish! Before we left, we ordered the short rib omelet to take home to my husband. He said the meat was very tender, and the dish overall was very flavorful. Our server's affect was a bit flat, but she took care of us. That's OK - they were very busy. The First Watch menu is not like most restaurants. They get creative with their dishes and change them up seasonally, so there's nothing boring about this menu! Quality ingredients skillfully prepared. Rainy morning, so decided to check out First Watch for Breakfast (Beltway & Round Up Lane). Has anyone else been? We had been driving to Memorial City or out 290 for Breakfast from time to time. I have to say - this place is so much better! Everything was fresh and to die for. From the coffee to the seeded wheat toast & fresh jelly. Everything was homemade and just amazing. They were very slow, so I told them I would post on our neighborhood page. Robert who lives nearby was our server and was great. They are being very safe with distanced tables, hand sanitizer and masks. Wanted to give a shoutout to this wonderful place!! When we received our drinks we were not given straws and we couldn't ask for them either because our server never stopped at our table after taking our order. She delivered the tables around us our food but never stopped at ours to give us any information about how much longer it would be. We were never given an update on how long our food would take and we were only approached about it after asking another server.
