What a refreshing change from all the greasy fast food we usually choose for lunch. I tend to avoid the lunch rush traffic of Addison and never really take a lunch, or if i do i wait until the craziness has died down a little bit. Salata shares a parking lot with a bunch of other restaurants and business so when i pulled in the parking lot was completely full. It made me a little nervous thinking i would be waiting in line for 20+ minutes but i walked in and was the first person in line! Soo many different options to choose from it can almost be overwhelming. Luckily no one was behind me so i could take my time a little bit. You can get as many toppings as you want and only the meat/protein costs extra. I got a small salad (add chicken for $3) the portion of chicken was plenty. It was almost too much for me. I love the concept here. Salad Bar and they will add as much or as little of vegetables you want. It's perfect for vegetarians and I think the price is good for them too For meat you add an extra $2 or $3 for fish. That's when the prices can seem a bit steep. Omg!!! Where has this place been all my life?! This place is amazing, I had an appointment in the area and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat after, I used Yelp to help me find healthy restaurants in the area and Salata popped up toward the top of the list. I had a friend who raved about how good it is so I decided to go there. Unfortunately I came during the lunch rush and found myself standing in a line wrapped around the entrance. It took about 20 minutes to get up to the front but I'm happy I practiced patience and stayed! I ordered the small salad and topped it with all types of things like onions, tomatoes, feta cheese, and the list goes on. I opted for the sun dried tomato dressing. By the time I got out of line seats had cleared u and I made my way over to an empty booth in the corner to devour my meal. I was very satisfied with my selection all the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. I ate here three more times this week, all to go orders over lunchtime. They always had my orders ready to go when I arrived. The staff was always warm and friendly. The food was always good. My last order included a cup of their chipotle veggie soup which they bagged in a separate bag in case it leaked which was awesome. It was delicious too. If your trying to eat healthy but don't want to spend a ton of cash, Salata is a great option! read more

The salads here are very good although they use the Subway philosophy of big helpings of cheap stuff and going chintzy on the better ingredients. I'm actually a regular customer here but am ranking them lower because the place is going downhill. The furniture is in disrepair, to the point where I actually cut my finger sliding into a booth with insanely worn-out upholstery. You have to wonder if they're going out of business, so won't spend a nickel on upkeep, or are they just the type of management team that looks the other way when effort has to be expended. Either way, I wonder if that lack of concern carried back into kitchen cleanliness. Unfortunately, Addison doesn't post restaurant health inspection scores, so no way to know. read more

If you are looking for fresh salad, unlimited salad toppings (with an additional $2-3 for protein), awesome dressing and soups, this is the place to come. Salata has taken customized salad to a whole new level with online ordering through their website. The line starts with choosing from 3 different types of salad mixes, Salata, Romaine Hearts, Spring Mix, Kale and Spinach. From there you go through the line and choose from different toppings (all with calorie information). You can add protein such as chicken, quinoa and more for $2-small salad and $3-large salad which is 1 or 2 scoops respectively. The dressings are all very tasty, but very high in calorie if you are watching the count. The mango dressing is one of the lowest calorie dressing and didn't mix well with my topping selections very well. My favorite dressing is the fresh herb vinaigrette, which goes well with almost everything even sweet fruits. The atmosphere in Salata is great, which comfortable and clean seating. The music playlist have is very "international" and adds to the ambience. We sat there for a good 2 hours one time and I heard everything from african and middle eastern to thai and japanese. I absolutely love this place! I am not a big salad person but here you can be as healthy as you want or as indulgent as you want. They have so many choice that there is something for everyone. I can't say enough about this place. If it was walking distance to my apartment I would literally eat here every single night. Always fresh, plenty of choices of salad toppings, dressings, etc. You can ask for multiple scoops of something if one scoop just won't do, and they have the calories listed so you can add up what you're getting if that's important to you. What a great find! The employees were so kind and patient, and encouraged me to sample different dressings before making a decision. The veggies were fresh, and the protein selection was fantastic. The only thing that is keeping this place from 5 stars is the dressing selection. The only two low calorie dressings (sun dried tomato and mango) are not something I would enjoy on my salad. You get to totally design your salad, choosing from multiple green types (Salata mix, kale, etc.), veggies, fruits/nuts, and multiple protein choices (nice 4 oz. cuts of Salmon, multiple Chicken types, etc.). I came here at 4:15pm with my sister and it wasn't busy which was nice. It's a salad place but you can also get wraps. I got the Texas bbq wrap and put a lot of different toppings in the wrap. They have around 40 different toppings to choose from. I choose sun dried tomatoes, marinated chicken ($3),pineapple,feta cheese, chipotle sauce and pasta as my toppings. My sister got a kale salad and she put a lot of veggies as her toppings. I also like how each topping lists the calories.this place is really healthy for you and a lot of the toppings are low in calories. The price for two people to eat here Is a little over $20. Stumbled a crossed this amazing place while on my lunch break heading to another restaurant. As I was driving by it caught my eye cause they specialize in salads and wrap (and it's so hard to find healthy food while on the go) so I decided to check it out. And boy, was it amazing. I built my own wrap with their wheat tortilla. I was going to try the Thai ginger one cause I love ginger but was a little nervous about how it would taste with my salad selection. First of all, I'll start off by saying I love Salata. I go to the one in Preston Center frequently but when I started working in Addison I was crushed that I wouldn't be able to go to Salata at lunch. I was so excited when the new one opened at this location. I have since been twice and had a pretty good experience. However, today might have been my last day. I went in and requested a kids salad like I always do (I can't eat that much!) and was promptly informed that I could not have one because I was not under 10 years old. I've been getting a kids salad at Salata now for forever. In fact, the last time I visited this location the manager/owner himself served me a kids salad with a smile on his face. And yet this time, a not very nice woman informed me that I couldn't have one. I promptly walked out. While the salads are amazing and the topping are endless, they might have just lost a customer. Customer service is soooo important these days. Yes, my salad would have cost less than a normal one but wouldn't they rather have me as a weekly customer pay $4 less than lose a customer all together. I hope the management reads these reviews because I'm sure they would want to know that they are employing some no so nice people. Probably the BEST tasting salads that I have ever eaten in my life. Not only do you get to pick your toppings, but they don't limit you to the number of toppings you can choose. They have SO much FRESH variety, you feel bad for holding up the line or just getting too much in your salad. The amount of salad that you get for the small price of $10 is just short of amazing. I am so glad my coworker introduced me to this place. You can choose all sorts of meats, INCLUDING salmon, veggies, nuts, fruits, croutons, bread...variety galore! However, be wary of their delicious house made dressings...not as healthy as it seems. My chicken salad, with two scoops of fresh herb vinaigrette ended up being close to 900 calories. Kinda makes you want to eat a burger instead but besides that, it is so filling that sometimes you have to take some home. You can either do wraps or salads and they are so fast and friendly. Saw the big Now Open sign while driving to the liquor store, so I stopped by on my way home. Liquor and salad! Lots and lots of toppings! It's Sweet Tomatoes x 2. Different dressings that you can sample too. I tried Lemon and Mango. Went with the mango. They have your choice of differently spiced chicken and other meats. AND they have seafood. I've never had a seafood salad, so I went with their seafood medley: fake crab meat, salmon, and shrimp. It came with a slice of seasoned bread as well. All for a grand total of $11. EEK! It was definitely enough to last me two meals, but I wish their base price was posted. All I saw was +$2 or +$3 for certain add-ins, so I didn't know what to add to. Maybe I missed it. Interesting idea, create your own salad from a ton of different ingredients. It's kind of like a salad bar, but they make it for you. Besides the great protein selections including shrimp and tasty looking chicken, I think what makes Salata, or any other salad restaurant, different than a salad bar is that they mix up your salad with the dressing for you instead of you dropping a dollop of dressing in the center of a salad and ending up with one section of soggy greens. Don't you just hate that? I wasn't prepared to figure out what to put in my own salad. I was hoping they had a menu of salads to choose from (like Snappy Salads) with the option to create your own. If you end up with a nasty salad, it's all your own fault since you choose the ingredients. And I ended up with a nasty tasting salad. I urge you to check out the meat selections before you decide what to put in your salad. I got so excited with all the veggie options, then I got really excited when I saw the shrimp, then I ended up with shrimp in a salad with veggies that didn't go. That's why I would rather them have some menu options for salad. I don't want all that responsibility of figuring out what goes with what. If I did, I would have made a salad at home. Loy's of veggie and dressing options as well. The wraps come with pita chips. I was not a fan. They seemed a little overcooked. However the wrap was plenty. After spending most of the past year on the road eating out for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, a quick glance at the mirror reminded me that I need to balance myself out with something a tad healthier. Seeing so much Yelp love for this place, I had to give it a shot. Salata's assembly-line layout makes my IT engineer soul happy. Logical, and ever so efficient, you start with lettuce, spinach, kale, or arugula and move your way through corn, snow peas, celery, carrots, nuts, beans, and just about every option you could imagine would belong on a salad. Finally, with the options of myriad different styles of chicken, baked salmon, or shrimp, your salad moves into some real next-level flavor. Finish it off with croutons, pita chips, or a quarter-avocado before moving on to the register. About the only things that I didn't like here were the non-salad items. The broccoli soup was decidedly sour, and when I complained about it, I was told it was made fresh every day and it was left as such. Also, the chipotle bread tasted fairly stale, even after being toasted, so you may want to skip that as well. I look forward to being back next time I'm in Dallas. I just checked my account they overcharge me by double. I remembered when I went there that they asked me if I wanted a receipt and I said no. Just beware of being overcharged. Four or five different salad bases, at least 30 veggies, good protein and nuts and seeds options too. Legumes, bread, and peppers as well. This review is taking a lyrical tone and I don't know why! Pleasant staff and efficiently run operation. Very clean. The wraps and salads are huge (Texas style!) so you'll leave very full. Inexpensive maybe 7-12$ for a full meal.
