This place is pretty great. If you like salads and baked potatoes then go there. The salads are gigantic and filling and delicious. They don't use iceberg lettuce either, which is nice. I am a fan of the high protien with chicken salad w/ blue cheese dressing. This place is a beacon of tasty somewhat healthy food in an area that specializes in cheap greasy deep fried food. Not that I am all about healthy food, but just some days I don't feel like eating a meal so greasy that it comes with a free and unwanted colon cleanse that makes you spend the afternoon on the toilet sweating as liquid shit rockets from your sore ass while you're at work hoping to Christ none of your co-workers are in the bathroom when you walk out of the stall because it sound and smelled like you were slaughtered water buffalo in there; which is an offer in the small print on the menus of most of places in the area. I was going to knock it down a star because of limited parking and small indoor space, BUT the quality of food and service outshines the cons. So, moving on... Healthy Protein Chicken Salad (romaine, spinach, carrots, mushrooms, raisins, sunflower seeds, egg, avocado, jalapeño chicken, and mix of cilantro-jalapeño & ranch dressing)...AMAZING!! I feel bad for all the other salads because I'm stuck on this one and I don't want to try anything else (maybe in like a year). Chicken Vegetable Noodle Soup felt hearty and good for my body. As I ate it I thought to myself that I was getting a great vegetable serving for the day. One of the very few food choices near my workplace... Eh yep, we are not exactly situated in the most beautiful and exciting (from culinary perspective) locale... But oh well, this place is decent. And if you are careful not to order one of their 30 pre-designed salads (mostly fattening through the use of cheeses and heavy dressings) you can create your own light and healthy salad. The ingredients are fresh, since they are quite popular (good turnaround). I usually replace the dressings with plain virgin oil & balsamic vinegar (Italian style). If you get stranded into the area, this can definitely be a decent alternative to a burger joint... I think the 3 stars are well deserved. read more

I ran into this place after going to the print/copy shop located in the same strip mall. I was delighted to see a food place that actually served salads! It's rare that you find a place like that these days. I believe the first time I went I had the Spinach with chicken salad. It was so/so. I think what's lacking here is there isn't a variety of good salad dressings to chose from. For me, what realllyyyy makes a salad tasty is when you have a good dressing to top it off. I had mine tossed with the honey mustard and it wasn't good at all. Very unflavorful. Also, I need them to toss the BACOS and get some real bacon bits in their salads.. What? I'm just saying! I do like their loaded baked potatoes. Try their loaded baked potato with chili, cheese, and green onions topped with sour cream. It's excellent. read more

I like the concept of this place. Its like a subway, but just salads. I always see law enforcement and professionals frequenting this super fast establishment to get their hands on custom salads, soups,baked potatoes, and pitas. Check it out. Its not worth going to if you are extremely far away. But you should check it out at least once if you happen to be in the area just because this is how things should be. More places offering this kind of healthy food are needed. So strange that you'd find this in Compton aka that butt of Dominguez of all locations. Now if only I had the money for a franchise... Salads 2000 is exactly what you expect to get. Either a salad, or a sandwich. Both options are ok. I had the TUNA SANDWICH on a wheat burger with alfalfa sprouts and a nice pasta salad. In my opinion the food was decent, and the service was like Subway style but it wasn't anything amazing. If I was looking for something quick for lunch I would come by this spot. Absolutely love love loveee their Health Protein Salad! It's refreshing to find a place in this Compton/Torrance/Carson area that can make a real salad that isn't mostly made up of iceberg "lettuce." To veganize this salad I request no cheese, eggs, and of course no chicken. For the dressing options I get either the lemon juice or oil and vinegar combo. The only odd part is the rock hard pita that they throw in on the side but I usually zap it in the microwave to make it a bit edible! lol P.S. This place is the BOMB!!!!!! (yes I said bomb...). Worked in the area for 5 years and would go there evey chance I had. The salads are great, all the veggies are fresh, the ladies there are great and friendly. When I walked in they already knew what I was going to have and with what dressing. Our company recently relocated to the OC and I wish there was a Salads 2000 around. Once you have a salad from this place you can't go back to the so called salads from the fast food joints, just not the same. I leave close to the one in Santa Fe Springs, just wish they were opened late nights and weekends, but they're not. :( If your watching what you eat or just in the mood for a very good salad this is the place no doubt about it. My absolute favorite place to grab a salad from. I've been coming here for 3 years now. The staff are always friendly and they always remember me (that's always a plus for me). They have a great mixture of lettuce and a variety of toppings and dressings to put on your salad. The price for a salad ranges about $7-$8, but they do you give you a lot of food. This is the place to get your salads on. Or potatoes if you're thinking of wanting a giant baked potato. It's like a subway but for salads only. and technically, there is menu made up of pictures on the wall and u can choose the type of salad u want, but u can always end up changing a little of ur salad as well. Add a drink and ur lunch will cost roughly around $10, which isn't bad. A pita bread is included. Around lunch time the parking can get a little crowded but there should eventually be a space that opens up. read more

My friend has eaten here before and shes loved it. Once i walked in, i saw a array of stuffings to put into my salad. The ladies were friendly. I got all 3 types of lettuce, then i got corn, cheese, sunflower seeds, onions, mushrooms and chicken. I then heard my friend order the spicy ranch. Apparently you have to ask for it since in not one of the listed and it was SPICY. Its ranch, cilantro and diced jalapeño and omg it was amazing. I was in LOVE. My HUGE salad ended up costing 8.95 because it was a 1$ to add chicken which i didn't mind. The reason this place get 4 stars is because the chicken was not fresh. It reminded me of that fake chicken from subway. I ate my salad and i was happy but the chicken was a let down. O well, i will come again, i just wont add chicken. read more

Such a simple concept, yet a unique idea. Parking is pretty limited, so be prepared to make the rounds (but if you're stoked to get a salad for lunch/dinner then you probably don't mind walking a bit). They had tons of options (2000 perhaps??) with photos of each salad which is helpful when you don't have any idea what to get and you're next up and you don't want to hold up the line (err...umm... that one!). I got the high energy salad with chicken; it had sprouts, mushrooms, carrots, spinach, romaine, avocado with sesame dressing. It was really delicious and you get a generous portion. I want to definitely go back to explore the other salads. The place is a bit narrow and small so I wouldn't recommend bringing a large group of people. read more

Great idea poorly executed. I haven't seen the poor quality greens and vegetables that others have mentioned. Where this place utterly fails is in their bland, flavorless and boring dressings. I've tried 3 salads here and there is always plenty of dressing maybe even too much, but the Italian dressing tastes like nothing but oil. You need some vinegar to give the dressing some tang...
