I don't know why it's taken me so long to update this review. I most say that this has become not just my favorite Thai restaurants but one of my favorite restaurants period. Fantastic Thai Food! We went after a day of hiking along the Poudre and doing some local exploring. We weren't disappointed. Due to Covid did take-out. We are a picky bunch....who has food allergies, who is vegetarian, who is vegan, who needs GF, etc (you get the idea....pita's). Food was exceptionally fresh, flavorful and staff was so accommodating given all the dietary stuff. I'd bathe in the peanut sauce if my wife would let me. We placed a large order and it was packed with care, on-time, affordably priced and greeted warmly by the owners. Can't wait to go back! read more

Got their Drunken Noodles; it was amazing. The lunch special included a coconut chicken soup and egg roll, and both of those were amazing. They also have a spicy garlic fish sauce that is very tasty, and very spicy. Loved the whole meal! read more

I had a friend recommend this place so I placed a to-go order for the tofu Pad Thai like I usually do. The person who answered the phone and who paid me out was friendly and efficient. I thought the Pad Thai itself could have used a little more flavor and the tofu could've been cooked a little bit longer. I would give this place another chance in the future, but I'm still searching for my favorite Thai place in the Fort Collins area. read more

6 stars........ This has got to be one of the best(if not THE best) Thai restaurants I have ever been to. I have eaten in Bangkok both fine dining and street vendors so I have a little idea of what authentic Thai should taste like. I have eaten pad Thai at numerous restaurants both in Thailand and stateside and it's pretty easy to duplicate, however there are other, more complicated dishes including their authentic selection of soups and salads that are out of his world. There are also some dishes that I might consider fusion with hints of Chinese and Vietnamese. I guess to make a short story long, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone passing through. Moreover it's even worth the trek off the interstate if your not passing through Windsor. Like I said, 6 STARS!!!! read more

After moving here from the Bay area I anticipated not being able to find authentic Thai food but Sala Thai is great!

Went to Sala Thai for a bite on a weeknight. The owner was very entertaining, the hot red curry was delicious and the service was prompt and fast. Highly recommend. Looking forward to going back to try a different dish. read more

Fave Asian restaurant in Windsor! Small space but such a gem. Tasty, authentic, delicious food. My family and I loved their soups (tom kha or tom yum), noodle dishes (pad see ew or pad thai or glass noodles) or entrees like massaman curry chicken, prik king, spicy basil duck, etc. All so yummy! There's nothing more to add about the delicious food at this place. From my limited experience it's all true. And I agree with all the reviews about the owner and his helpfulness, humor and generosity. I do have one more [owner] observation to make, and this is one that cost him a star. He's a demanding, demeaning boss who doesn't invest in training his staff properly. All servers make mistakes. New servers make a few extra mistakes. There is a proper time & place to deal with it. That time and place is not in front of all the guests while they eat. And especially not if your method of choice is derogatory "barking" at the offender. read more

Decided to try Sala Thai because it had the best review score for Asian food in Windsor. Ordered take out over the phone so we could come home and enjoy the beautiful day, and we wanted to sit outside. The website was great because it had photos of the food. Too bad it's photos of somebody else's food. When I arrived to pick up the order, it was not what I had asked for, and the staff was rude about me wanting the order corrected, accusing me of ordering the wrong thing. They did fix the order, but without any "thanks" for my business or apologies for the time to correct it. When I got home with the food, I had to laugh at the difference between their website and the actual meal I brought home. It isn't even prepared in the same fashion. All of this would have been forgivable if I enjoyed the food, but I did not. Compared to most other Thai food I've enjoyed, this was very bland, and underwhelming. I can say this place is amazing! I eat at all kinds of Thai places and folks this is it! Best dishes around the state. you cant beat the price , service, and its always a great and a healthy meal! Thought the pictures looked great- began with crab rangoon and dumplings and the dumplings were over cooked and the sauce tastes more like peanut butter than the authentic peanut dipping sauce. We got the curry and it was soupy and did not look appetizing. Even if it was meant to be a soup it was terrible. The chow mein was bland and not the best or what we expected after reading other reviews. Server was sweet but when told curry was bad, still put it on the bill. We boxed the rangoons, tipped and left. Unfortunately we agreed Panda Express would have been closer, better quality, and cheaper. read more

My boyfriend and I chose this place for the high yelp ratings and if I were only rating the food I would give it a slightly higher score but the kitchen staff was incredibly loud both in the kitchen and out in the restaurant. It was strangely it entertaining but ruined the ambiance. In addition to the obnoxious kitchen stuff, the bathrooms were disgusting. Phenomenal service compliments the great food at reasonable prices. This is in the top 2% of any restaurant for service. Free extra rice, threw in a cup of soup(didn't come with dinner), brought additional napkins when the nose started to run. Friendly and fast. This was all by the Thai-looking man, not the other American waiters. (he's the owner). The panang curry was loaded with quality ingredients. Extra vegetables for $1. Not too thick; lighter broth. I found this place browsing Yelp. It has good Thai food and good service. The food is probably just below Khow Thai (in Boulder) in terms of taste/quality, and they give smaller portions than Khow Thai does, but Sala Thai food is sill way better tasting than other "Thai" places. It's the only place I'll go in the Loveland/Windsor area. The people that run the restaurant also seem really nice; they can accommodate gluten/dairy intolerance easily. They actually buy some sauce (I forget which) that is specifically gluten-free. Sala Thai is also a bit far from the freeway and was hard to locate the first time I went. But there is plenty of parking and there really aren't any other good Thai options in the area. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it and will be going back when I am in the area. read more

I'm still a big fan of thise place. But I have learned a valuable lesson. Don't be scared of the "spicey-ness". Unless you're a total spice weenie you probably want at least a 3 or 4 on the ol' spice scale that they have to choose from. Wow. What a great place! and an unexpected find in Windsor. The staff, very friendy, especially the owner/chef. Located in a non-descript strip mall, I'd passed this place several times, and frequented it when it was other fast food asian restaurants. Located steps from the Super 8, it is a pleasant treat to the out of town traveller, as well as for the locals. The first time we went in, we just got a pelethora of differnent items to share. We had the Appetizer sampler, Tom Yum and Tom Kha soup, Panang curry and Prig King. We had left overs for two days, but it was well worth it. Everything was fantastic. And the prices? Crazy affordable. On our second trip, the chef remembered us and let me know that he had Pompano fish that had just come in...Would I like that served traditional? (yes, that means with head and tail). Oh my! Grilled perfectly, and tasty! But once again, we were not able to finish everything. I don't get over to Windsor very much these days, but this place is worth the drive! If you like Thai, you'll love this place. read more

I am not going to try and claim this is the most authentic or the nicest or any other particular superlative Thai pace I've ever been to, but it was a very good choice for the price and is incredibly child-friendly [which makes up for things like the duct tape mending my booth seat]. The flavors are modest, good without being overwhelming for a beginner [not that we were, but if you're new to Thai...] and with a few options [we gave the toddler teriyaki chicken] that are completely inoffensive. The wee viking's parents particularly appreciated that the staff -asked- if they could bring him dessert after he tore through his chicken [which, I note, came to the table first, before our entrees] instead of just showing up with sweets. Personally, I was most delighted by the black sticky rice with mango, which I managed to order again in the space of a week because it was so good and, I note, makes excellent to-go. read more

So this is my second time here, first time, ordered a Pad Thai, it was a miss, kind've dry in my opinion. This time, ordered the Chicken Pad See Ew, not bad, though chicken was a bit overcooked. Had the Chang beer, personally think it taste better than Singha and for dessert, the black rice with mango and coconut milk which I would recommend. Windsor, CO. has three fantastic restaurants and this is one of them. I really enjoy Thai food, its reasonably priced and I was surprised that this unassuming place was so terrific. If you decide to order the teriyaki with beef think dark and rich. If chicken with peanut sauce it's gotta be homemade because my favorite place for authentic Thai food by two Thai ladies in AZ makes theirs from scratch as well and I recognize the awesome flavor.
