Moved to Loveland from Windsor and wanted to try a Thai place so ordered carry out. Crab Rangoons had no crab, Tom aka soup was bland and the chicken and shrimp were very old and chewy and the Pad See Ew was dry with little flavor. Very good lunch specials. I like that they have drunken noodles and tofu panang curry on the lunch special menu. $9.99 for a small portion of entree, egg roll and soup (Tom Kha today) or salad. This is my first time having Bangkok 89. I had it delivered. The delivery by DoorDash was fast and I ordered the red curry add a medium spice level. The first thing is, I felt the curry to be brothy. I would say it was soup like. The sauce had a lot of good flavor, but was not spicy at all. Not a lot of red curry in it more yellow. The chicken was plentiful white meat. Not tough. There were a lot of shoestring, Bamboo shoots in there. A couple of red peppers a couple of basil leaves and a green pepper or two. No eggplant or any squash of any type. Disappointing. Eggplant is part of the best of the Red curry. It was a nice portion for lunch and for the price. The rice was very good. Looking for a Thai place for me here in Loveland. Not sure this is it. My review for this incredible Thai food is only based on our experience of ordering out, we have not been inside the restaurant. That said, we will as soon as possible!! I found this place on a delivery app and it had great reviews. Both my husband and I were beyond impressed with how yummy and high-quality the food is!! The curry is so amazing. I've loved the pad Thai with their peanut sauce (an extra add in 100% worth it!). We are able to make two meals out of it. By far the best coconut rice I've found in NoCo. This is my parental unit and my favorite Thai restaurant in this part of the state! We've been frequenting this spot since it opened and have never been disappointed. My go-to is a toss up between the Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles and my new favorite - Pad See U with extra broccoli and brown rice. This dish as the perfect amount of sauce, tender chicken, crisp broccoli and a hefty amount of scrambled egg throughout. The owner is incredibly kind and obviously takes a lot of pride in her restaurant which definitely shows through the food plating and quality, and how spotless it is inside. All of the servers I've come across are friendly and on top of their game. Pro tip: If you see that they have mango and sticky rice available, GET IT! Dropped in for a quick lunch. The service was very fast but more noteworthy is the food. Initially I wasn't to sure about the coconut cabbage soup but the flavor was fantastic. I had pepper chicken. The veggies were crisp and fresh, not over cooked and soggy. The chicken was tender and tasty. All of the sauces were amazingly flavorful - a real delight. Had lunch out today with a group of seven ladies and we had the best lunch we've had in ages. All of our food was absolutely delicious. Great prices for the lunch deal and the owner is just absolutely wonderful. Super sad to have to downgrade my rating of Bangkok89. The first time we ate here the food was good and service was pretty good. We decided to visit again today based on how much we enjoyed our noodles on our first visit. Sadly our experience was not good. Hubby had Pad Thai with Tofu, my son had Pad Se Ew with Tofu and I had Drunken Noodles with Tofu. My son enjoyed his Pad Se Ew and it was a reasonable portion. My hubby wasn't too crazy over his Pad Thai with Tofu, it was a decent portion but the sauce was off - it was too sweet. My Drunken Noodles tasted good but it was mostly onion, cabbage, peppers and carrot. There were hardly any noodles in my order today and that was not an issue the last time. I brought this to our server's attention and he said he'd talk with the cook. Came back and said "we always put about a block and a half of noodles in" and asked if there was anything they could do and I asked for them to give me a few more noodles and he wasn't willing to do that. I let him know that I was not happy and that we wouldn't be back. He didn't seem to have a care in the world. Horrible customer service! To say I'm not happy is an understatement. If I wanted a stir fry, I would have ordered one. I ordered a noodle dish because I wanted NOODLES! Immediately met at the door by a friendly gentleman, seated promptly. Menus are quality, heavy duty, pictures on the back sides of the pages as well. Ordered a Thai coffee, fried tofu, spicy bamboo chicken, seseme chicken. Started off with the coffee. Without even mixing in the condensed milk, it's very sweet, very rich, VERY delicious. It's very mild, not bitter what so ever. The fried tofu came out (about 10pc) and it was perfect! Crispy and golden on the outside, but not too firm or mushy on the inside. Paired with the sweet and sour sauce it was a delicious way to start a meal for sure! The seseme chicken was light and crunchy, not soggy and over fried like most. The flavor isn't the strongest, but still a great contender. The cabbage and broccoli served underneath was cooked well, not too mushy. The spicy bamboo chicken is a tongue tickler! 4/10 spice, so don't fear it just because it has two spice stars. The sauce is rich and reminds me of some sort of teriyaki curry sauce. It's sweet, yet zingy, and not overly curry-ie. The vegetables in this are an excellent pair for the sauce! Lastly, I'd like to mention, oddly enough, the cleanliness of the restroom. Usually I'm kind of weary of the restroom at most places, but this was very clean and smelled pleasant. Good job to the staff for having a bathroom clean enough to mention in a review! Simply wonderful. While most restaurants tend to short you on take out food, Bangkok 89 provided outstanding service. Not only did they package the Spicy Basil Duck separate from the sauce, they made sure it didn't get soggy and weird in the take out containers. Most restaurants will cook their duck too dry, Bangkok had cooked it long enough to fall off the bone and short enough to remain juicy and flavorful. The care put into cooking the duck just right and packaging the take out to prevent the duck from getting too goopy.. that's the kind of love and effort I expect from every restaurant. I never write reviews, but this was the most unprofessional dining experience I've ever had. Our waiter last night (3/24) was one of the rudest people I've ever encountered. I came to eat dinner with my family, including my younger brother who is a bigger kid. Our server was obnoxious in general, but was SO hung up on my brother's size. The comments were NON STOP. He went on and on. Comments like "you won't need a box!" and he even told him that he couldn't skateboard because he'd break the board when he stood on it. I cannot believe the nerve of this man. I thought I smelled alcohol on his breath, but that is no excuse. Our dinner was ruined and my brother cried when we left. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to cause a scene, but I will be back today demanding a refund. I will never eat here again, and I'm telling everyone I know. Horrible experience.
