Cute place. But the food I ordered wasn't quite ... Thai food. If you get me? If you're experienced with good Thai food, and you know what it is, you'll want to skip this. And my chicken tasted like it came out of a can. It was lacking flavor, and lacking fresh ingredients- the dish I ordered normally has a bit of fresh lime juice in it. More flavors and spices- That would be the Thai way. I was afraid of being nickeled and dimed so I didn't ask for anything extra. With one quite sub par entree and just water, $20. I was charged just as much as a good Thai restaurant but this was worth half. Or less. I don't know what they are thinking but maybe they're not Thai and look down on their customers and think we don't know anything. I could taste a can. I am grossed out. Just bopped in for lunch. Quickly greeted and served water. We made our choices and the waitress soon took our order (drinks and food) which were served in a short period. We tried this place based on the highly positive reviews but it was a disappointment. We ordered three appetizers: Tom Kha soup, chicken satay and chicken dumplings. Every things tasted fine. The entrees, however, were a disappointment. We ordered Pad Thai with beef, Pad See Ew with chicken and both tasted bad and were nothing near authentic, especially the chicken. Ft Collins has so many other Thai options now and this is one you can skip. Went about 2:30 in the afternoon and the atmosphere was typical except they had several tacky tables set up selling products throughout the entrance. They were friendly, no issues there. Food is mediocre at best. Had the chicken pad thai with a very minimal amount of chicken, basic steamed dumplings and spring rolls ehh. Portions are on the smaller side so I'd recommend going tu-th (the only days you can get a lunch special). No asking how the food was, refills on water and had to wait to wave someone over to get our bill. PS 3% upcharge on both debit and credit cards which is not noted except on a wrinkled piece of paper at the front of the desk where your legs are and noticed after you pay of course. We first discovered Khon Thai at the Thai New Year festival in Denver last year. Their pork noodle soup was delicious! My son had an early Sunday 9am soccer game in Ft Collins and my parents wanted to come along. Strange, until I realized they wanted to go to Khon Thai for lunch! It was worth the trip! We're Thai and we're always looking for authentic Thai places to eat our favorite dishes. We highly recommend them! We ordered the som tum Thai papaya salad, duck noodle soup, pad see ew and mango sticky rice dessert. All A+ choices. Service was perfect. Clean establishment. Good for large parties. Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon . This was my very first visit to a Thai restaurant. Staff was warm and welcoming. Place is quiet and relaxing. I like that they have their menus underneath the glass tables. I ordered the drunken noodles with chicken super Thai hot. Let me tell you I can handle spicy but wow this was very spicy. I should have downed the spice level to a 4 maybe even 3. The portion was generous and the flavor was delicious. I also ordered the Tom Yum with veggies only, which is lemongrass hot and sour soup, so tasty you can definitely taste the lemongrass. My experience here was very relaxing as I ate my dinner which was exactly what I was looking for on this Sunday afternoon. read more

I'm so picky when it comes to Thai food. I want only the best because I am used to Thai food from San Francisco and I've been struggling to find that in Fort Collins. I love everything about this place, the service and food are both amazing. My girlfriend and I stop in a couple times a month and have yet to be disappointed by the unique and delightful food and drinks. My personal go- to is the Khao Soi with chicken, and a Butterfly Pea Soda, both are delicious and hard to compare to anything else in town. Great food experience at this restaurant today. I got the drunken noodles with chicken and my partner got the stir fry ginger chicken with rice. Both dishes were very good, mine was more spicier than his, but his ginger chicken was knocked it out of the park delicious. The wait staff was attentive and on the spot. The restaurant was clean and plenty of seating. We are thinking about moving to Fort Collins and would definitely have this particular Thai restaurant in the top three of our lists so far. read more

This is the best Thai restaurant this side of Thailand. It's tasty and authentic. The Papaya salad is the best I've ever had, the flavors are on point and they offer a very generous portion. Every dish we've tried here has been delicious. If you've ever been to Thailand, you'll know when you walk in that the atmosphere takes you there, just for a little while. Craving Thai food, my cousin suggested a place in the area for us to nosh at before heading to the Taste of Fort Collins. Khon Thai popped up when she made the search and off we went to get our fix. SPACE: Located within a small strip mall off College Ave and Harvard St, the restaurant was easy to spot and featured ample parking. Upon entry, we realized we were the only people seeking lunch, which felt a little weird considering it was a Sunday at lunchtime. However, we made our way to a nearby table which was fine for our small party. The interior is a little bizarre and created the weirdest of vibes. The walls feature some traditional Thai artwork and designs which was fine, but the stark lighting, shower curtain like material dividing merch from the register and the lack of patrons made the whole dining experience a little off. SERVICE: We were greeted by a server who happily gave us the run-down of the menu and offered a few suggestions from the menu while consistently refilling our waters. Our interaction with her was brief, to the point and we didn't see her very much throughout our visit - as she was in the back near the kitchen most of the time. At one point, I wanted to make a slight change to my order and had to stand at the kitchen entrance to get her attention. However, her service to our table was A-ok. SIPS: The good news - they have a full bar! So naturally we opted for a few beverages to accompany our meal. My husband and I sipped on vodka sprites, while my cousins decided on local brews. Everything came out in record time and was a good addition. SUSTENANCE: Always a fan of drunken noodle, I opted for an order of that with shrimp, while my husband went with his OG favorite - Sesame Chicken. My cousins decided on a few other dishes (none of which I can remember now), along with a side of dumplings, crispy egg rolls and a soup. All our dishes came out quickly, was decent in presentation and tasted fresh! Portions are massive and hearty, so I only made a small dent into my meal before asking for a box for leftovers. All of us left feeling insanely full but happy! SPECIALS: The various specials are highlighted on their website - like 10% off for veterans, Free Thai Ice Tea with the purchase of 3 entrees, free orders of wontons if you purchase 5 entrees and a happy meal deal for 2. However, none of these specials apply to lunch - just FYI. I will admit, pricing here is insanely high. Sure you get a heaping amount of food, but for 2 drinks and 2 meals and 1 appetizer, our total came to a whopping $60. FOR LUNCH? Yikes. The service was very friendly, but also very slow. There is a nifty little shop area inside the restaurant offering ethnic items for purchase. The food was OK. It could be better. The Tom Yum Chicken soup was fantastic. All my 4 stars are for this. You should not miss out on it. We had the Golden Fried Tilapia, which was more sweet than spicy for a Thai Hot dish. The fish was a bit over-fried. We also got the Thai Fried Rice, which tasted good, but the rice was undercooked (some of the bits were pretty raw). For the time they took to get our food, we hoped it would be fabulous. The place still fills up during the weekend. Service could be much much faster. There is limited parking in their lot, but you can park on the street too. Good place. Could be better. 4 stars. read more

We went here as a last minute stop on a weeknight. We found free, street parking with no problem. Although it looks small on the outside, there's plenty of room for them to have the dining room spaced out enough that feels social distancing-friendly. There was live music softly played by one of the employees which added to the ambiance and enjoyment of our meal. We got the two entree deal and got our moneys worth - especially with plenty of leftovers (my fav!) They were great with the spice levels, my fiancé wanting none and me wanting medium spice. Food was yummy and the food presentation was nicely done. Sometimes I'm bummed with the smaller portion of rice when I got to restaurants, however, the rice portion was just right!
