I had a wonderful lunch today and I'm very glad that they opened up the marketplace for dine in. I had the fried seafood platter that came with scallops, oysters, shrimp, calamari and fish. It was delicious, lightly fried to perfection. It's nice that they let me sub a Cesar salad for fries. I also got a fresh watermelon juice that was very refreshing and was a nice summertime drink. While enjoying my lunch, I had the pleasure of talking to Sal and his sons. They were all very helpful and friendly. So I just happen to stumble upon this place as I was walking through the market. I should start by saying it's beautiful inside the building. Lots of seating available and you are able to "take" your food over to the bar that is right in front of the counter and eat your food there while you have a drink. Before I ordered I inquired about the oysters, and being unfamiliar with the type they had that day the guy taking my order was nice enough to let me try one before I ordered them. Full disclosure I did not end up ordering the oysters. I ended up ordered the grilled salmon Caesar salad. The salmon was great, cooked to perfection with the right amount of seasoning on it. Here is the thing though, I don't think you should ever put hot food on lettuce. The lettuce wilted and didn't taste good..... of course that last statement is a opinion as I am not a cook. On a separate note they did forget to give me my drink.... no worries, eating at the bar I had a amazing cocktail. So lots of good things to say but yes only 3 stars.... why??? I kept it simple and ordered a single crab crake. I ordered via my phone and was served in 10 minutes. The single crab cake was $11 and that's considered a steal in Maryland. I opted for broiled vs fried and it was significantly overdone. The top layer had was tough and chewy. The crab cake was also very , very salty; the accompanying greens helped to balance the flavor. Wandered into Broadway Market, wound up ordering a Fried Seafood platter ($20) which was plenty portion-wise to share amongst 2! It comes with seasoned French fries, and the seafood (scallops, shrimp, calamari, fish of your choice, and oysters) was fried fresh to order. I liked that the batter was thin and light, sprinkled with Old Bay. You could easily it eat by itself or supplement with tartar sauce or ketchup. Not sure if I had a fair experience of this as I got here an hour before closing, after two other oyster places I tried had closed early due to staffing shortages. Amazing. I live in Fell's, and whenever someone asks me what my go-to spot is, my answer is always, unequivocally Sal's. Super fresh seafood, always perfectly cooked and seasoned. Huge portions, so well-priced, and the guys working there are very friendly. My personal favorites are the tilapia sandwich and grilled garlic scallops and shrimp. The grilled vegetables are awesome too. Fish and chips always hit the spot (fries are nicely seasoned, with a mixture of old bay and I think other spices). My only complaint is that I ordered my crab cake broiled and it was fried on a pan, it's was still very good but disappointing in that aspect. Sal and Sons is a seafood spot located in Broadway Market, which is a brand new building with a beautiful interior and a variety of seating (bars, small tables, large group tables, little kid tables). It's great for everyone, for friends, family, dates, etc. This spot sells both raw seafood (soft shell crabs, fish in all different cuts, scallops, shrimp, etc) which you can buy raw or cooked. They also have a regular ready-to-eat menu as well. I shared the fried seafood platter ($20) which had one piece of fish, 3 large scallops, a couple large shrimp, some oysters, some calamari, and fries with a dusting of old bay seasoning. I also shared a cream of crab soup ($9). The fried seafood platter was a LOT of fried stuff and it was a bit much fried stuff for me. The soup was pretty good with noticeable chunks of crab meat. Fresh/raw oysters were my favorite. They were 3 for $5, and very large. They shuck them for you so it's super easy to eat. I'm not very familiar with seafood prices but they were selling soft shell crabs for $10 each which seemed a bit much. Sauces/condiments can be requested as they keep them at the front. Parking is paid street parking. If you park at Harbor East, first hour is free then it's $2/hour. If you park at St Caroline garage, it's $5 all day on weekends. Also I'm not sure why Yelp says it's closed on Sundays because I was just there on a Sunday and all of Broadway Market was open. read more

I love how conveniently located it is in Broadway market, allowing us to each choose whatever we wanted to eat and enjoy together! Was immediately greeted by Sal himself, whose enthusiasm probably could have gotten me to try anything on the menu. We ended up ordered a pound of shrimp to be steamed in old bay seasoning, and one tilapia fillet which we requested to get grilled with Cajun seasoning. Additionally, we got rice and beans on the side. Overall it was about 25 dollars, which I think was a bargain considering everything was so fresh!
