Pro tip: If you order before a certain time of day, you can place your order over the phone and pick it up in-store. So while on one of my many visits to Baltimore I had to satisfy my craving for crabs from the Crab State and boy did Blue Point Crab House satisfy and meet my expectations. I first heard of this place by a friend a year ago and finally got my sister to take me. I was praying and wondering if they would be open during this Covid 19 season and they were. I appreciated the signs that said NO MASK NO ENTRY. Major plus. I also appreciated the wonderful unofficial loc-wearing security guy that was at the door to welcome you but also make sure that crowd control was maintained. There was not a crowd but you know how folks can get about their seafood. I also appreciated that for it to be a place that specializes in crabs/seafood the cleanliness and non smell of the place. I read earlier reviews that recommended the female crabs had more meat but the lovely brown-skinned lady convinced me that the males they had were "oooh weeee on point and bigger with more meat." So at $45 for a dozen and 2 crab cakes at $5 each and a mallet to crack open the crabs we were set. The crabs of course are steamed and seasoned to perfection in either light, medium or heavy. I chose medium. Old Bay can be a bit much. I must say the crabs did not disappoint and neither did Blue Point. I think I got a little over a dozen of the male crabs and the seasoning was just right. I am crab stiffed and satisfied. My family and I had to take a break several times to finish the bag. We never once smelled of seafood and neither did the house. I will definitely be back to this gem of the city of Baltimore. Thank you for satisfying this New Yorker's crab craving. read more

Staff are always friendly and they have a few other things on the menu that are pretty good such as the crab egg rolls. I was a little apprehensive to ty this place, as I am with any crab spot. I just hate spending money and be disappointed, but it was well worth the money spent. The location is clean and all the employees were wearing protective gear such as masks and gloves. There was a separate part of the counter where you order the crabs. They have butter, plain or garlic, I got the $1 sized garlic butter, next time, I'll get the bigger one because it tastes awesome with the crabs . When I got the crabs home, the bag was heavy, but I didn't imagine they would be as big as they were. We got medium males for $68 and I was inHeaven! Visited Maryland from California and passed by this place. My parents u-turned back to this place to try some crab. My parents are avid crab eaters and then they tried this place and now think that this place has the best blue crab. My parents never bother to review anything on Yelp, but had to say something about this place. Perfect seasoning, perfect spiciness. Seasoning was unlike any other seasoning. Crab was perfect. Every crab was fat, full of meat and good quality. Compared to the crabs from DC, Blue Point Crab House was way better. The people at Blue Point Crab House are also really friendly. Don't judge this place by how it looks, the crab was worth it. We're going back to California soon but we will definitely come back here next year for more crab! OOOYEAAAHHH....Yummmmmmmmyyyyy times 10. The seasony goodness. There is a definite difference in Blue Point Crab House locations. This BPCH city location is a trillion times better than the Owings Mills location. I'm assuming it is because they steam the crabs in the Old Bay seasoning. It seems that the OM location just throws the seasonings on top after the crabs are already cooked. Steaming the crabs with and without the seasonings make a huge difference. The Montford location has good, well seasoned and juicy crabs. It tastes like the crabs are actually cooked in the seasonings like they're supposed to be. Yummm...No complaints here about not enough seasonings....The prices are cheaper too than the other location stated. Better deals in the city baby! The neighborhood is not a good area. I suggest going in the daytime, with a friend or two and know your surroundings. I'm fine when I'm here, but don't have a tourist/out of town look and tuck your money somewhere safe. lol. I took a run across the street to the liquor store/bar while I waited! I guzzled a 12 oz beer before leaving since Baltimore has the "no open container" law for alcoholic beverages.
