Teppanyaki dinner at Sakura is like a meal with a show. It's been over a decade since I last ate at Sakura Tyson's, and it is just as I remembered it. The front of the restaurant is mostly for the sushi diners, and there is a giant bar. Whereas the back of the restaurant is where the hibachi tables are located. Prepare to be entertaining by trained chefs if you opt for the hibachi dinner. I opted for the steak and shrimp combo, with the fried rice and a side of chicken liver. The dinner lasted about an hour and it was pretty filling. We had gotten there before 5 pm on a Saturday evening, and no reservation was necessary. If you get there later, maybe reservations would be helpful. Overall, the dinner experience was pretty good

I stopped bu Sakura on the way back from Dulles. Restaurant was very spacious inside and staff was friendly. Service was fast. My husband and I ordered a few sushi rolls to share and an order of the seared salmon belly. Unfortunately every one of the rolls fell apart as soon as we grabbed a piece. The dragon roll looked like a "dragon" so my husband thought it was neat. Taste wise that would be our favorite. The other rolls we ordered ok. The seared salmon belly wasn't as warm as I'd like it to be but was still delicious. We heard a lot of noise coming from the hibachi area which sounded fun so keep in mind if you're looking for something more romantic. Overall a good place for some quick sushi was reasonable prices.

Menu prices haven't changed too much

This is for the Fair Lakes location not sure why it's not showing up here but it's very much open and I'm Told it's the better of the 2 locations. Bright and loud and celebratory. Food is fresh and tasty. Chefs are amusing and well trained. Not inexpensive, but they do have a lunch service for less.

Always a fun experience! Food is always so tasty. Always nice friendly service. Great decorations each table can fit up to 10 patrons. Only issue is that it's hot in here but what do you expect it's hibachi!

Came here with a group of 7 to celebrate a birthday on a Friday night! We made reservations before and we're seated quickly after or reserved time. We were sat at an area with 2 other guests. Our server was very attentive and friendly. She was more than willing to talk about their gluten free accommodations to make sure my allergy needs were met. Throughout the service the chef would give me my food and remind me they were GF every time, without prompting. The salad dressing was not gluten free, but they brought out my salad separate with yum yum sauce as an alternative. The gluten free food was cooked first to make sure there wasn't any soy sauce. I had a great time and felt very safe with an allergy here. Cannot recommend enough :)

I haven't been to a hibachi restaurant in yearrsss and Sakura was a good reintroduction. We came during their lunch hours and started off with drinks. For my drink, I had the Fujiyama, which was the good amount of flavor and alcohol. My rating of the drink was a 10 out of 10. We then got seated and our cook/waiter was perfect! He was engaging, funny, skilled, and quick. I had the house salad with fried rice, medium steak, and shrimp. Their yellow sauce and ginger sauce, added so much yumminess to these dishes. Overall, this was a good experience.

We came to Sakura to celebrate a birthday. We called the restaurant to make a reservation about a week in advance; they had full availability for Friday evening. There's free parking but it was pretty packed when we pulled in around 6pm - it's a busy shopping outlet. It's also accessible from Greensboro metro. When we arrived at the restaurant for dinner and checked in, our table was ready, but they wanted the whole party to be there before seating us. It's actually quite a large restaurant. There's a few tables in the front which are for the sushi diners. They had a bunch of hibachi tables in the back - too many to count - but most of the tables were full by 7:30pm. As we got seated, the staff were kind to advise which seats to avoid based on where the smoke would travel from the grill. The menus and chairs were a little sticky. Drink service was okay. Drink orders were fulfilled quickly after initial ordering, but we had to flag someone down for refills - they were not attentive in this regard. The hibachi skills of our chef were average. He did the basic tricks - drawing a happy face on the grill and lighting it on fire, twirling the utensils, spinning and tossing the egg, building the onion volcano, and tossing the shrimp into your mouth - there were no showstoppers or extra pizazz. His tosses for the shrimp were also not very good - it was like he wasn't even trying to get it to land in your mouth. I did mention that we were celebrating a birthday, and the chef led a round of singing "Happy birthday" to the birthday girl for the onion volcano. The food was mediocre. The hibachi entrees come with shoyu onion soup, Sakura salad, assorted veggies, and steamed or white rice. You also get your choice of sautéed mushrooms, chicken livers, or flambéed shrimp. The Sakura salad dressing was quite unappealing to look at - the dressing was orange and chunky on top and liquidy on the bottom. The fried rice is typically my favorite part of a hibachi dinner. The fried rice here is not it... the rice was hard and dry and lacking in flavor. Fortunately, they do have soy sauce on the table as well as personal dishes of yum yum sauce and a ginger sauce to up the flavor. For the rice and veggies, our chef was light-handed on the seasonings. Portion sizes were good; there were plenty of veggies (mushrooms, onions, red peppers, zucchini, carrots, bean sprouts) and a hearty serving of rice, so if you're not a big eater, anticipate leftovers. For my entree, I ordered the scallops. They had nice cuts of meat and I received 10 scallops. I was able to sample the ribeye and filet mignon entrees. Both were requested at medium rare. The ribeye was cooked to the requested temperature, and was nice and tender; the filet mignon was a bit over, which was disappointing for being filet mignon. Shortly after the chef finished cooking everything and we finally had a full plate of food, to-go boxes and the check were promptly brought out... it felt very rushed, and we had only been seated for about an hour and 15 minutes. We weren't offered a chance to peruse the dessert menu. After being presented with the check, we asked the waiter if the restaurant did anything for birthdays. He quickly brought out a complimentary cupcake and candle for the birthday girl, and the waiter helped to lead another round of singing "Happy birthday" with the table. While they weren't explicitly shepherding us out the door, there was no "whenever you're ready" vibe. If they want you to adhere to a specific dining time limit, they should state that on their menu, on their website, and when making a reservation. I felt like I didn't get a chance to enjoy the food - they want you to watch the cooking show and be gone. All staff members were kind and courteous, but the whole hibachi experience overall was a bit lackluster.

This was my first time coming to Sakura Japanese Steakhouse restaurant in Tysons Virginia. Let me just say that this restaurant is beyond amazing. When I walked in the associates were so nice and I was seated right away with no wait. I did not go to the Hibachi table where they cook the food in front of you but it doesn't matter to me as the service was amazing show or no show. The food however was fantastic, I got the teriyaki chicken with fried rice on the side. I also got the 2 small sides of the famous soup and the salad that comes with it. Both side dishes were so delicious it brought back memories from my childhood. The teriyaki chicken was mouth watering delicious as I ate it. The best chicken I've ever eaten in years. The restaurant itself has such a fun and relaxing atmosphere, I love the center art peace on the ceiling in the main foyer/dining room. Overall, the service was amazing, my waitress made sure I was taken care of and she was quick to fulfill my food and drink order. That's true hospitality right there. Sakura Tysons VA gets 5/5 stars, Fantastic job. I recommend coming here for lunch or dinner, I will definitely return.

Portions are huge! I went with my coworkers for dinner and we had a very good experience with the Teppan experience. Servers were very attentive, and cocktails were good. I would come here again! I took off one star because when we got our check, the 18% gratuity was already included. After we paid, the receipt had the line to tip again. It's not cool to do that, and if you're drunk enough, you'll tip again because you forgot.

Came here for my younger brother's birthday dinner and Sakura didn't disappoint. I called earlier in the week to make a reservation for Sunday evening and as we arrived we were seated right away. If you're planning on coming on the weekend definitely call to make a reservation because they were super packed. Service was quick and the chef was super friendly. I definitely recommend ordering the ribeye, it literally melted in your mouth. They also provide a complimentary birthday dessert. Never had a bad experience her!

One of the taller workers who's sitting down on the table, scoots out aggressively, walks up to my face with his chest puffed out and stares me down with a "Can I help you sir!?". I didn't take it as a threat, but the ambiance within the room made it feel like I was unwanted in the establishment. I simply smiled, walked passed him and asked if I could look at the menu. I then order 1 Mochi piece. I find it a bit strange that a singular piece is 5 dollars but that's besides the point. The same server opens the refrigerator and pulls out the Mochi with his Bare Hands that I witnessed him use to eat his food and wipe his face before I walked into that door. I actually live in Japan and eat mochi regularly. There was nothing special about that Mochi in taste being 5 dollars. The entire strip where this is located is amazing, every establishment treats neighboring staff kindly, EXCEPT for this place. I've been to other Kusshi's and this is by far my least favorite one. I don't like to give out low reviews as this is my first ever one. But this is just improper etiquette.

For the uninitiated, abura soba is a brothless ramen where the magic happens at the bottom of the bowl. A savory aromatic oil and tare base sit beneath springy, chewy noodles, topped with a silky poached egg and classic ramen accoutrements. The key is to mix thoroughly -- really commit -- until the egg emulsifies with the oil and sauce, coating every strand in glossy, umami-packed richness. The texture is the standout. The noodles have a satisfying chew that holds up against the weight of the oil without becoming heavy. It's indulgent but not cloying. The customization element elevates the experience: a drizzle of chili oil adds warmth and depth, while a splash of vinegar cuts through the richness with bright acidity. Dial it in to your preference and the bowl transforms in real time. If you're a fan of Chinese scallion oil noodles or Korean jajangmyeon, you'll recognize the comfort-food DNA here -- but abura soba feels more refined and layered. The flavor is concentrated, savory, and deeply satisfying without relying on broth. This is the kind of spot that knows exactly what it is and executes with confidence. A refreshing change from the ramen norm and absolutely worth the visit. Bonus points for the casual kid friendly atmosphere and also offering traditional soup ramen and donburi for less adventurous dining companions.

The restaurant offers a comprehensive wine list, making it an ideal choice for a date night or dinner outing. One notable observation is the $10 charge for sparkling water, which felt rather steep. Sorry for the late post. I was really excited when my husband surprised me with a birthday dinner…read morereservation at Churasko last Saturday 3/28, but I'll admit I was a little nervous after seeing some mixed reviews on Yelp. Thankfully, our experience turned out to be absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived, the host was warm, welcoming, and very patient as we figured out which dining option we wanted. She clearly explained the different experiences--from the churrasco and Wagyu offerings to the sushi and small plates--and gave us time to look over the menu without any pressure. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with great ambiance and music that really set the tone for a special night. My husband chose the Platinum Tier dining experience for my special occasion and it was worth it. Our server, Mike, truly made the entire evening unforgettable. From start to finish, he was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. He took the time to explain each dish, offered great recommendations, and made sure we were always taken care of. We started with Brazilian cheese bread, which was just okay, but the trio of flavored butters (gochujang, black sesame, and regular) was unique and delicious. Then came the Fire & Ice seafood tower, which was not only beautifully presented but also came with a dramatic tableside display. The grilled shrimp and oysters Rockefeller were excellent, and the chilled oysters and sashimi skewers were fresh and flavorful. The lotus chips on the side were also a nice touch. One dish that didn't quite hit for me was the lobster tempura--it was slightly salty and it was a bit soggy when I expected it to be crisp. However, the lobster bisque more than made up for it. It was hands down one of the best I've ever had--the broth was light but yet very rich and flavorful, perfectly executed!!! We were also served a shrimp egg custard that was interesting and enjoyable, though we were already starting to get full at that point! Then came the highlight: the unlimited premium meats. Everything from the A5 Japanese Wagyu to the lamb chops was delicious and high quality. The bone marrow pasta and Wagyu fried rice were standout favorites for us as well. The presentation throughout the entire meal was stunning--every dish felt thoughtfully crafted and visually beautiful. What truly made the night special, though, was Mike. He went above and beyond to make my birthday feel celebrated. He surprised me with all three desserts, a complimentary champagne toast, sparkles candles, and even two beautiful take-home gifts (a set of Japanese-style bowls like the ones used for the lobster bisque, with the restaurant's name on them). That level of thoughtfulness meant so much to us. We had so much food that we couldn't finish everything, and Mike kindly allowed us to pack up what we couldn't finished to take home. Overall, this was an incredible experience with outstanding service. Honestly, it was far better than when my husband took me to Hell's Kitchen a few years ago--we spent just as much there but received nowhere near the level of service or even a simple birthday acknowledgment. Highly recommend Churasko, and if you can, ask for Mike--he will take amazing care of you!

I also never got to try some of the items as the rounds were never made to my table. The desserts were decent, but I wish they had more options there too. Overall, I'd likely not return and rather spend the money on Chima or Fogo that is close by.

Loved our waiter, he was very entertaining and gave us a great experience. We did the Modan Tasting Experience (Six Course Meal*). My apologies for not taking note on what is each dish, but we enjoyed the meals. We still had room for more food, so if you have a big appetite, just keep in mind this will not fill you. lol. So many options to choose from! I really enjoyed their sushi so I would definitely come back to eat their sushi. I would recommend this spot!

I ordered a couple of cocktails off the menu - Lychee Martini was very boozy and didn't have much flavor. The Flor de Cana Pineapple Mojito is interestingly on happy hour, but not on the main cocktail menu. It was okay and not that flavorful. Honestly, I wouldn't mind shelling out $20+ cocktail if it packed a punch with flavor and well-balanced. These cocktails didn't measure up. The Cauliflower Taco was truly bite-size and was the teeny tiniest taco I've ever seen. I wasn't a big fan of the flavor, so I was glad that it was gone within 2 bites. After spending $60+ on 2 drinks and tiny taco, I was ready to go home disappointed. Our server was friendly. Maybe I didn't order the right drinks? I might come back to try another round of drinks, but not sure if I'm willing to dish out another $20+ cocktail.

Recently, Eater DC published a list of what they considered the best steakhouses in the DMV…read more Randy's made the list. We were looking for a place to have our anniversary dinner. After seeing the list, we chose Randy's. Randy's is a Great American Restaurant, and I must say it's so good to go to a GAR with a menu different from the others. In the past, I've written about how one can go to Coastal Flats and get pretty much the same menu as, for example, Jackson's. We made a reservation for 5 p.m. on a Saturday. We arrived about a half hour early, so we asked if they could seat us right then and there. The people at the host stand said "yes". We were seated at a 4-top booth. Thus, there was plenty of room. The booths, which have mohair seat coverings, were a shade of green and quite attractive. The environment clearly says "upscale steakhouse." Our server was prompt in getting to us and asked if we wanted some water. We chose tap water. He gave us time to look over the menu. We decided to not have any appetizers as we didn't want to get too full. To drink, my husband got a glass of Catena Malbec while I got an Espresso Martini. Our server asked if we wanted some bread. We said "yes". The bread basket had 2 flaky, buttery croissants, plus a slice of white bread and a slice with raisins. For our main course, we both got the 7 oz. filet mignon cooked medium rare. We chose to try two sides. One side was "roasted asparagus" which consists of: "poached egg, parmesan (we asked for no cheese and our request was honored), truffled Bernaise aioli". The second side was "Honey roasted organic rainbow carrots," which were "dusted with candied walnuts". As for the food --- We both thought our steaks were properly cooked, However, my husband said his was on the dry side while mine was just right. We both really enjoyed the side dishes. The asparagus was unconventional, to be sure. Never did I have a poached egg with asparagus. I ate the egg, and it was properly cooked. Looking back, I should have thought to put some salt on it as there was none. The truffled sauce was creamy and added nice flavor. The carrots, to me anyway, were a pleasant surprise. The honey added a nice flavor along with the candied walnuts. They, too, were cooked perfectly. As for being "rainbow" carrots, most were orange, with some white and yellow ones. We had some room for dessert, so we decided to share "Tressa's crispy meringue filled with lemon curd and finished with passionfruit coulis". Since it was our anniversary dinner, a dollop of whipped cream was added to the plate. In that dollop was a lit candle, which was a nice touch. I found the coulis to be on the tart side. The lemon curd was mildly flavored. Service was excellent, though dessert took a while ,to arrive. All in all, a nice splurge and we're glad we came here. (Well...we didn't care for the traffic on Leesburg Pike, but the dinner made it worth the trip).
